1 В сяка мъдра жена съгражда дома си, а безумната го събаря със собствените си ръце.

¶ Every wise woman builds her house, but the foolish plucks it down with her hands.

2 К ойто ходи в правотата си, се бои от Господа; а опакият в пътищата си Го презира.

¶ He that walks in his uprightness fears the LORD, but he that is perverse in his ways despises him.

3 В устата на безумния има пръчка за гордостта му, а устните на мъдрите ще ги пазят.

¶ In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride, but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.

4 К ъдето няма волове, яслите са чисти, но в силата на воловете е голямото изобилие.

¶ Without oxen, the storehouse is clean, but by the strength of the ox there is abundance of bread.

5 В ерният свидетел няма да лъже, а лъжливият свидетел диша лъжи.

¶ The true witness will not lie, but the false witness will utter lies.

6 П рисмивателят търси мъдрост и не я намира, а за разумния учението е лесно.

¶ The scorner sought wisdom and found it not, but wisdom comes easy unto him that understands.

7 О тмини безумния човек, щом си узнал, че той няма разумни устни.

¶ Go from the presence of the foolish man when thou dost not perceive in him the lips of knowledge.

8 М ъдростта на благоразумния е да обмисля пътя си, а глупостта на безумните е да заблуждават.

¶ The wisdom of the sane is to understand his way, but the folly of fools is deceit.

9 У глупците живее вина, а между праведните има Божие благоволение.

¶ Fools speak sin unto themselves, but among the righteous there is love.

10 С ърцето познава своята си горест и чужд не участва в неговата радост.

¶ The heart knows the bitterness of his soul, and a stranger shall not intermeddle with his joy.

11 К ъщата на нечестивите ще бъде съборена, а шатърът на праведните ще благоденства.

¶ The house of the wicked shall be made desolate, but the tent of the upright shall flourish.

12 И ма път, който се вижда прав на човека, но краят му е пътища към смърт.

¶ There is a way which seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

13 Д аже и сред смеха сърцето си има болката и краят на веселието е тегота.

¶ Even in laughter, the scorner has pain in his heart, and the end of that mirth is heaviness.

14 Р азвратният по сърце ще се насити от своите пътища, а добрият човек ще се насити от себе си.

¶ The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways, and the good man shall be separated from him.

15 П ростият вярва на всяка дума, а благоразумният внимава добре в стъпките си.

¶ The simple believes every word, but the prudent man understands his steps.

16 М ъдрият се бои и се отклонява от злото, а безумният самонадеяно се хвърля напред.

¶ The wise man fears and departs from evil, but the fool rages and is confident.

17 И збухливият човек постъпва несмислено и зломислещият е мразен.

¶ He that is soon angry shall deal foolishly, and the man of wicked devices shall be hated.

18 Б езумните наследяват глупост, а благоразумните се увенчават със знание.

¶ The simple shall inherit folly, but the prudent shall be crowned with wisdom.

19 З лите се кланят пред добрите и нечестивите - при портите на праведния.

¶ Those who are evil shall bow before those who are good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.

20 С иромахът е мразен даже от ближния си, а на богатия приятелите са много.

¶ The poor is hated even of his own neighbour, but many are those who love the rich.

21 К ойто презира ближния си, съгрешава, а който показва милост към сиромасите, е блажен.

¶ The sinner despises his neighbour, but he that has mercy on the poor is blessed.

22 Н е се ли заблуждават онези, които измислят зло? А милост и вярност ще се показват към тези, които измислят добро.

¶ Do they not err that meditate upon evil? but those that meditate upon good shall attain mercy and truth.

23 О т всеки труд има полза, а от бъбренето с устните - само оскъдност.

¶ In all labour there is fruit, but to talk and not do, brings poverty.

24 Б огатството на мъдрите е венец за тях, а глупостта на безумните е винаги глупост.

¶ The crown of the wise is their wisdom, but that which distinguishes fools is their folly.

25 В ерният свидетел избавя души, а който издиша лъжи, е цяла измама.

¶ The true witness delivers souls, but the deceitful one speaks lies.

26 В страха от Господа има силна увереност и Неговите деца ще имат прибежище.

¶ In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence, and there his sons shall have hope.

27 С трахът от Господа е извор на живот, за да се отдалечава човек от примките на смъртта.

The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

28 К огато народът е многоброен, слава е за царя, а когато народът е малоброен, съсипване е за княза.

¶ In the multitude of the people is the king’s glory, but in the failure of the people is the weakness of the prince.

29 К ойто не се гневи бързо, показва голямо благоразумие, а който лесно се гневи, проявява безумие.

¶ He that is slow to wrath is of great intelligence, but he that is short of spirit exalts folly.

30 Т ихо сърце е живот на тялото, а разяреността е гнилост на костите.

¶ A sound heart is life to the flesh, but envy is rottenness of the bones.

31 К ойто угнетява бедния, нанася укор на Създателя, а който е милостив към бедните, показва почит към Него.

¶ He that oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker, but he that has mercy on the poor, honours him.

32 Н ечестивият е смазан във време на бедствието си, а праведният и в смъртта си има упование.

¶ For his wickedness shall the wicked be cast out, but the righteous in his death has hope.

33 В сърцето на разумния мъдростта почива, а между безумните тя се явява.

¶ Wisdom shall rest in the heart of him that is sane and is made known in the midst of the fools.

34 П равдата възвисява народ, а грехът е позор за племената.

¶ Righteousness exalts a people, but sin is a reproach to the nations.

35 Б лаговолението на царя е към разумния слуга, а яростта му - против онзи, който докарва срам.

¶ The king’s favour is toward the wise slave, but his wrath is against him that causes shame.
