1 С ине мой, не забравяй поуката ми и сърцето ти нека пази заповедите ми,

¶ My son, forget not my law, but let thine heart keep my commandments:

2 з ащото дългоденствие, години на живот и мир ще ти прибавят те.

For they shall add length of days and long life and peace unto thee.

3 Б лагост и вярност нека не те изоставят; вържи ги около шията си, напиши ги на плочата на сърцето си.

Let not mercy and truth forsake thee; bind them about thy neck; write them upon the tablet of thine heart:

4 Т ака ще намериш благоволение и добро име пред Бога и хората.

So shalt thou find grace and good favour in the sight of God and man.

5 У повавай на Господа от все сърце и не се облягай на своя разум.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6 В ъв всичките си пътища признавай Него и Той ще оправя пътеките ти.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

7 Н е мисли себе си за мъдър; бой се от Господа и се отклонявай от зло;

¶ Be not wise in thine own eyes; fear the LORD and depart from evil.

8 т ова ще бъде здраве за тялото ти и влага за костите ти.

It shall be medicine to thy navel and marrow to thy bones.

9 П очитай Господа от имота си и от първото на целия доход.

Honour the LORD with thy substance and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:

10 Т ака ще се изпълнят житниците ти с изобилие и линовете ти ще преливат от ново вино.

So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

11 С ине мой, не презирай наказанието от Господа и да не ти дотяга, когато Той те изобличава,

My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:

12 з ащото Господ изобличава онзи, когото обича, както и бащата - сина, който му е мил.

For the LORD chastens whom he loves and delights in, even as a father to his son.

13 Б лажен онзи човек, който е намерил мъдрост, и човек, който е придобил разум,

¶ Blessed is the man that has found wisdom and who brings to light intelligence,

14 з ащото търговията с нея е по-изгодна от търговията със сребро и печалбата от нея - по-скъпа от чисто злато.

for the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver and the fruits thereof more than fine gold.

15 Т я е по-скъпоценна от безценни камъни и нищо, което би пожелал ти, не се сравнява с нея.

She is more precious than precious stones, and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.

16 Д ългоденствие е в десницата ѝ и в левицата ѝ - богатство и слава.

Length of days is in her right hand and in her left hand riches and honour.

17 П ътищата ѝ са пътища приятни и всичките ѝ пътеки - мир.

Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.

18 Т я е дърво на живот за тези, които я прегръщат, и блажени са онези, които я държат.

She is a tree of life to those that lay hold upon her, and blessed is every one that retains her.

19 С мъдрост Господ основа земята, с разум утвърди небето.

The LORD by wisdom has founded the earth; by intelligence has he established the heavens.

20 Ч рез Неговото знание се разтвориха бездните и от облаците капе роса.

By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the heavens drop down the dew.

21 С ине мой, не отделяй тези неща от очите си; пази здравомислие и разсъдливост,

¶ My son, do not let them depart from thine eyes; keep sound wisdom and discretion,

22 т ака те ще бъдат живот на душата ти и украшение на шията ти.

so shall they be life unto thy soul and grace to thy neck.

23 Т огава ще ходиш безопасно по пътя си и кракът ти няма да се спъне.

Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.

24 К огато лягаш, няма да се страхуваш. Да! Ще лягаш и сънят ти ще бъде сладък.

When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.

25 Н яма да се боиш от внезапен страх, нито от бурята, когато нападне нечестивите,

Thou shall not be afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked when it comes.

26 з ащото Господ ще бъде твое упование и ще опази крака ти от клопка.

For the LORD shall be thy confidence and shall keep thy foot from being taken.

27 Н е въздържай доброто от онези, на които се дължи, когато ти се отдава възможност да го направиш.

¶ Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.

28 Н е казвай на ближния си: Иди си, върни се пак утре и ще ти дам, когато имаш у себе си това, от което се нуждае.

Do not say unto thy neighbour, Go and come again and tomorrow I will give when thou hast it by thee.

29 Н е намисляй зло против ближния си, който с увереност живее при тебе.

Do not devise evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwells securely by thee.

30 Н е се карай с някого без причина, щом не ти е направил зло.

Do not sue a man without cause, if he has done thee no harm.

31 Н е завиждай на човек-насилник и не избирай нито един от пътищата му,

Envy thou not the oppressor and choose none of his ways.

32 з ащото Господ се гнуси от извратения, а общува интимно с праведните.

For the perverse is an abomination to the LORD; but his secret is with the righteous.

33 П роклятия от Господа има в дома на нечестивия; а Той благославя жилището на праведните.

The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked, but he shall bless the habitation of the just.

34 Н аистина Той се присмива на присмивателите, а на смирените дава благодат.

Surely he scorns the scorners; but he gives grace unto the humble.

35 М ъдрите ще наследят слава, а безумните ще отнесат срам.

The wise shall inherit glory; but shame shall be the promotion of fools.
