¶ When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language,

2 J udá vino a ser Su santuario, Israel, Su dominio.

Judah was his holiness, and Israel his dominion.

3 L o miró el mar, y huyó; El Jordán se volvió atrás.

The sea saw it and fled; Jordan was driven back.

4 L os montes saltaron como carneros, Y los collados como corderitos.

The mountains skipped like rams and the little hills like lambs.

5 ¿ Qué te pasa, oh mar, que huyes, Y a ti, Jordán, que te vuelves atrás,

What came upon thee, O thou sea, that thou didst flee? And thou O Jordan, that thou wast driven back?

6 A ustedes, montes, que saltan como carneros, Y a ustedes, collados, que saltan como corderitos?

Ye mountains, why didst ye skip like rams and ye little hills, like lambs?

7 T iembla, oh tierra, ante la presencia del Señor, Ante la presencia del Dios de Jacob,

At the presence of the Lord, the earth trembles, at the presence of the God of Jacob,

8 Q ue convirtió la roca en estanque de agua, Y en fuente de aguas el pedernal.

who turned the rock into a reservoir of water, the flint into a fountain of waters.
