1 E ntonces el Señor dijo a Moisés: “Mira, Yo te hago como Dios para Faraón, y tu hermano Aarón será tu profeta.

¶ The LORD said unto Moses, See, I have constituted thee as god unto Pharaoh; and Aaron, thy brother, shall be thy prophet.

2 T ú hablarás todo lo que Yo te mande, y Aarón tu hermano hablará a Faraón, para que deje salir de su tierra a los Israelitas.

Thou shalt speak all that I shall command thee; and Aaron, thy brother, shall speak unto Pharaoh that he send the sons of Israel out of his land.

3 P ero Yo endureceré el corazón de Faraón para multiplicar Mis señales y Mis prodigios (milagros) en la tierra de Egipto.

And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt.

4 Y Faraón no los escuchará. Entonces pondré Mi mano sobre Egipto y sacaré de la tierra de Egipto a Mis ejércitos, a Mi pueblo los Israelitas, con grandes juicios.

And Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you, but I shall lay my hand upon Egypt and bring forth my hosts, and my people, the sons of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments.

5 L os Egipcios sabrán que Yo soy el Señor, cuando Yo extienda Mi mano sobre Egipto y saque de en medio de ellos a los Israelitas.”

And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD when I stretch forth my hand upon Egypt and bring out the sons of Israel from among them.

6 A sí hizo Moisés y también Aarón. Tal como el Señor les mandó, así lo hicieron.

And Moses and Aaron did as the LORD commanded them, so did they.

7 M oisés tenía ochenta años y Aarón ochenta y tres cuando hablaron a Faraón. La Vara de Aarón

And Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three years old when they spoke unto Pharaoh.

8 E l Señor habló a Moisés y a Aarón y les dijo:

¶ And the LORD spoke unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

9 “ Cuando Faraón, les diga: ‘Hagan un milagro,’ entonces dirás a Aarón: ‘Toma tu vara y écha la delante de Faraón para que se convierta en serpiente.’”

If Pharaoh shall answer you, saying, Show a miracle, then thou shalt say unto Aaron, Take thy rod and cast it before Pharaoh, that it shall become a dragon.

10 V inieron, pues, Moisés y Aarón a Faraón e hicieron tal como el Señor les había mandado. Aarón echó su vara delante de Faraón y de sus siervos, y ésta se convirtió en serpiente.

So Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did as the LORD had commanded; and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh and before his slaves, and it became a dragon.

11 E ntonces Faraón llamó también a los sabios y a los hechiceros, y también ellos, los magos (sacerdotes adivinos) de Egipto, hicieron lo mismo con sus encantamientos (ciencias ocultas).

Then Pharaoh also called wise men and sorcerers; now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their fire worship.

12 C ada uno echó su vara, las cuales se convirtieron en serpientes. Pero la vara de Aarón devoró las varas de ellos.

For each one cast down his rod, and they became dragons; but Aaron’s rod swallowed up their rods.

13 S in embargo el corazón de Faraón se endureció y no los escuchó, tal como el Señor había dicho. Primera Plaga: El Agua Convertida en Sangre

And Pharaoh’s heart became hard, that he hearkened not unto them as the LORD had said.

14 E ntonces el Señor dijo a Moisés: “El corazón de Faraón es terco. Se niega a dejar ir al pueblo.

¶ Then the LORD said unto Moses, Pharaoh’s heart is become grievous, for he refuses to let the people go.

15 P reséntate a Faraón por la mañana cuando vaya al agua, y ponte a orillas del Nilo para encontrarte con él. Toma en tu mano la vara que se convirtió en serpiente.

Go unto Pharaoh in the morning; behold, he goes out unto the water; and thou shalt stand by the river’s brink before him and take in thy hand the rod which was turned to a serpent

16 Y dile: ‘El Señor, el Dios de los Hebreos, me ha enviado a ti, diciendo: “Deja ir a Mi pueblo para que Me sirva en el desierto. Pero hasta ahora no has escuchado.”

and say unto him, The LORD, the God of the Hebrews has sent me unto thee, saying, Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness; and, behold, until now thou hast not desired to hear.

17 A sí dice el Señor: “En esto conocerás que Yo soy el Señor: Yo golpearé con la vara que está en mi mano las aguas que están en el Nilo, y se convertirán en sangre.

Thus hath the LORD said, In this thou shalt know that I am the LORD; behold, I will smite with the rod that is in my hand the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood.

18 L os peces que hay en el Nilo morirán, y el río se corromperá y los Egipcios tendrán asco de beber el agua del Nilo.”’”

And the fish that are in the river shall die, and the river shall stink; and the Egyptians shall loathe to drink the water of the river.

19 E l Señor dijo también a Moisés: “Dile a Aarón: ‘Toma tu vara y extiende tu mano sobre las aguas de Egipto, sobre sus ríos, sobre sus arroyos, sobre sus estanques, y sobre todos sus depósitos de agua, para que se conviertan en sangre. Habrá sangre por toda la tierra de Egipto, tanto en las vasijas de madera como en las de piedra.’”

And the LORD spoke unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Take thy rod and stretch out thine hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon their rivers, upon their streams, and upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, that they may become blood and that there may be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood and in vessels of stone.

20 A sí lo hicieron Moisés y Aarón, tal como el Señor les había ordenado. Aarón alzó la vara y golpeó las aguas que había en el Nilo ante los ojos de Faraón y de sus siervos, y todas las aguas que había en el Nilo se convirtieron en sangre.

And Moses and Aaron did so, as the LORD commanded; and lifting up the rod, he smote the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his slaves; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.

21 L os peces que había en el Nilo murieron y el río se corrompió, de manera que los Egipcios no podían beber agua del Nilo. Había sangre por toda la tierra de Egipto.

And the fish that were in the river died; and the river became corrupted, so that the Egyptians could not drink the water of the river; and there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt.

22 P ero los magos (sacerdotes adivinos) de Egipto hicieron lo mismo con sus encantamientos (ciencias ocultas). El corazón de Faraón se endureció y no los escuchó, tal como el Señor había dicho.

And the magicians of Egypt did the same with their enchantments; and Pharaoh’s heart hardened itself, and he did not hearken unto them, as the LORD had said.

23 E ntonces se volvió Faraón y entró en su casa, sin hacer caso tampoco de esto.

And Pharaoh turned and returned to his house, and even with all this he did not take this to heart.

24 T odos los Egipcios cavaron en los alrededores del Nilo en busca de agua para beber, porque no podían beber de las aguas del Nilo.

And in all Egypt they dug wells round about the river for water to drink, for they could not drink of the water of the river.

25 P asaron (Se cumplieron) siete días después que el Señor hirió al Nilo.

And seven days were fulfilled after the LORD had smitten the river.
