1 L a balanza falsa es abominación al Señor, Pero el peso cabal es Su deleite.

¶ A false balance is abomination to the LORD, but a just weight is his delight.

2 C uando viene la soberbia, viene también la deshonra; Pero la sabiduría está con los humildes.

¶ When pride comes, then comes shame, but with the humble is wisdom.

3 L a integridad de los rectos los guiará, Pero la perversidad de los traidores los destruirá.

¶ The perfection of the upright shall guide them in the way, but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.

4 D e nada sirven las riquezas el día de la ira, Pero la justicia libra de la muerte.

¶ Riches shall not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness shall deliver from death.

5 L a justicia del íntegro enderezará su camino, Pero el impío caerá por su propia impiedad.

¶ The righteousness of the perfect shall straighten his way, but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.

6 L a justicia de los rectos los librará, Pero los traidores en su codicia serán atrapados.

The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them, but transgressors shall be imprisoned in their own sin.

7 C uando muere el hombre impío, su esperanza se acaba, Y la expectación de los poderosos perece.

¶ When the wicked man dies, his hope perishes, and the hope of unjust men shall perish.

8 E l justo es librado de tribulación, Y el impío toma su lugar.

¶ The righteous is delivered out of the tribulation, and the wicked takes his place.

9 C on la boca el impío destruye a su prójimo, Pero por el conocimiento los justos serán librados.

¶ The hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbour, but the just are delivered with wisdom.

10 C on el bien de los justos, se regocija la ciudad, Y cuando perecen los impíos, hay gritos de alegría.

¶ When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices, and when the wicked perish, there are feasts.

11 P or la bendición de los rectos, se enaltece la ciudad, Pero por la boca de los impíos, es derribada.

By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted, but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.

12 E l que desprecia a su prójimo carece de entendimiento, Pero el hombre prudente guarda silencio.

¶ He that is void of understanding despises his neighbour, but the intelligent man remains silent.

13 E l que anda en chismes revela secretos, Pero el de espíritu leal oculta las cosas.

A talebearer reveals secrets, but he that is of a faithful spirit conceals the matter.

14 D onde no hay buen consejo, el pueblo cae, Pero en la abundancia de consejeros está la victoria (la salvación).

¶ When intelligence is lacking, the people shall fall, but in the multitude of counsellors there is salvation.

15 C iertamente sufrirá el que sale fiador por un extraño, Pero el que odia salir fiador está seguro.

¶ With anxiety shall he that is surety for a stranger be afflicted, and he that hates suretiship shall live securely.

16 L a mujer agraciada alcanza honra, Y los poderosos alcanzan riquezas.

¶ The gracious woman retains honour, and strong men retain riches.

17 E l hombre misericordioso se hace bien a sí mismo, Pero el cruel a sí mismo se hace daño.

¶ The merciful man does good to his own soul, but the cruel man troubles his own flesh.

18 E l impío gana salario engañoso, Pero el que siembra justicia recibe verdadera recompensa.

¶ The wicked works a deceitful work, but to him that sows righteousness shall be a sure reward.

19 E l que persiste en la justicia alcanzará la vida, Y el que va en pos del mal, su propia muerte.

¶ As righteousness is unto life, so he that pursues evil pursues it unto his own death.

20 L os de corazón perverso son abominación al Señor, Pero los de camino intachable son Su deleite.

¶ They that are of a perverse heart are an abomination to the LORD, but such as are perfect in their way are his delight.

21 C iertamente el malvado no quedará sin castigo, Pero la descendencia de los justos será librada.

¶ No matter how many covenants he has made with death, the wicked shall not be absolved, but the seed of the righteous shall escape.

22 C omo anillo de oro en el hocico de un cerdo Es la mujer hermosa que carece de discreción.

¶ As a gold ring in a swine’s snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.

23 E l deseo de los justos es sólo el bien, Pero la esperanza de los malvados es la ira.

¶ The desire of the righteous is only good, but the hope of the wicked is wrath.

24 H ay quien reparte, y le es añadido más, Y hay quien retiene lo que es justo, sólo para venir a menos.

¶ There are those who scatter, and more is added unto them; and there are those who withhold more than is just, but come to poverty.

25 E l alma generosa será prosperada, Y el que riega será también regado.

¶ The soul who is a blessing unto others shall be made fat, and he that fills shall be filled also himself.

26 A l que retiene el grano, el pueblo lo maldecirá, Pero habrá bendición sobre la cabeza del que lo vende.

¶ He that withholds the grain, the people shall curse him, but blessing shall be upon the head of him that sells it.

27 E l que con diligencia busca el bien, se procura favor, Pero el que busca el mal, éste le vendrá.

¶ He that seeks good early shall find favour, but unto him that seeks evil, it shall come upon him.

28 E l que confía en sus riquezas, caerá, Pero los justos prosperarán como la hoja verde.

¶ He that trusts in his riches shall fall, but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.

29 E l que turba su casa, heredará viento, Y el necio será siervo del sabio de corazón.

¶ He that troubles his own house shall inherit the wind, and the fool shall be slave to the wise of heart.

30 E l fruto del justo es árbol de vida, Y el que gana almas es sabio.

¶ The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he that wins souls is wise.

31 S i el justo es recompensado en la tierra, ¡Cuánto más el impío y el pecador!

¶ The righteous shall certainly be recompensed in the earth; how much more the wicked and the sinner!
