1 E ntonces el Señor dijo a Moisés: “Preséntate a Faraón, porque Yo he endurecido su corazón y el corazón de sus siervos, para mostrar estas señales Mías en medio de ellos,

¶ And the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh for I have hardened his heart and the heart of his slaves that I might show these my signs among them

2 y para que cuentes a tu hijo y a tu nieto, cómo Me he burlado de los Egipcios, y cómo he mostrado Mis señales entre ellos, y para que ustedes sepan que Yo soy el Señor.”

and that thou may tell in the ears of thy sons and of thy son’s sons the things I did in Egypt and my signs which I gave among them and that ye may know that I am the LORD.

3 M oisés y Aarón fueron a Faraón, y le dijeron: “Así dice el Señor, el Dios de los Hebreos: ‘¿Hasta cuándo rehusarás humillarte delante de Mí ? Deja ir a Mi pueblo, para que Me sirva.

Then Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh and said unto him, Thus hath the LORD God of the Hebrews said, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before me? Let my people go that they may serve me.

4 P orque si te niegas a dejar ir a Mi pueblo, entonces mañana traeré langostas a tu territorio.

For if thou refuse to let my people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring the locusts into thy borders,

5 C ubrirán la superficie de la tierra, de modo que nadie podrá ver el suelo. También comerán el resto de lo que ha escapado, lo que les ha quedado del granizo, y comerán todo árbol que crece para ustedes en el campo.

and they shall cover the face of the earth that one will not be able to see the earth, and they shall eat the residue of that which is escaped, which remains unto you from the hail and shall eat every tree which produces fruit for you out of the field:

6 L lenarán tus casas, las casas de todos tus siervos y las casas de todos los Egipcios, algo que ni tus padres ni tus abuelos han visto desde el día que vinieron al mundo hasta hoy.’” Moisés se volvió y salió de la presencia de Faraón.

And they shall fill thy houses and the houses of all thy slaves and the houses of all the Egyptians, which neither thy fathers, nor thy fathers’ fathers have seen since the day that they were upon the earth unto this day. And he turned himself and went out from Pharaoh.

7 Y los siervos de Faraón le dijeron: “¿Hasta cuándo este hombre nos será causa de ruina ? Deje ir a los hombres para que sirvan al Señor su Dios. ¿No se da cuenta de que Egipto está destruido?”

Then Pharaoh’s slaves said unto him, How long shall this man be a snare unto us? Let the men go that they may serve the LORD their God; knowest thou not yet that Egypt is destroyed?

8 E ntonces hicieron volver a Moisés y Aarón ante Faraón, y él les dijo: “Vayan, sirvan al Señor su Dios. ¿Quiénes son los que han de ir?”

And Moses and Aaron were brought again unto Pharaoh; and he said unto them, Go, serve the LORD your God. Who are those that shall go?

9 Y Moisés respondió: “Iremos con nuestros jóvenes y nuestros ancianos; con nuestros hijos y nuestras hijas; con nuestras ovejas y nuestras vacas iremos, porque hemos de celebrar una fiesta solemne al Señor.”

And Moses replied, We must go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters, with our sheep and with our cows we must go; for we have a solemn feast unto the LORD.

10 “ ¡Así sea el Señor con ustedes,” les dijo Faraón, “si los dejo ir a ustedes y a sus pequeños! Tengan cuidado porque tienen malas intenciones.

And he said unto them, Even if the LORD be with you, how can I let you go with your little ones; look at the malice which is before your face.

11 N o será así. Vayan ahora sólo ustedes los hombres, y sirvan al Señor, porque eso es lo que han pedido.” Y los echaron de la presencia de Faraón.

It shall not be so: go now ye that are men and serve the LORD; for that is what ye did desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh’s presence.

12 E ntonces el Señor dijo a Moisés: “Extiende tu mano sobre la tierra de Egipto, para traer la langosta, a fin de que suba sobre la tierra de Egipto y devore toda planta de la tierra, todo lo que el granizo ha dejado.”

¶ Then the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the land of Egypt to bring the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt and eat all the grass of the land and all that the hail has left.

13 M oisés extendió su vara sobre la tierra de Egipto, y el Señor hizo soplar un viento del oriente sobre el país todo aquel día y toda aquella noche. Y al venir la mañana, el viento del oriente trajo las langostas.

And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.

14 S ubieron las langostas sobre toda la tierra de Egipto y se asentaron en todo el territorio de Egipto. Eran muy numerosas. Nunca había habido tantas langostas como entonces, ni las habría después.

And the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt and landed in all the borders of Egypt. Very grievous were they; before them there were no such locusts as they, neither after them shall there be such.

15 P orque cubrieron la superficie de toda la tierra, y la tierra se oscureció. Se comieron toda planta de la tierra y todo el fruto de los árboles que el granizo había dejado. Así que nada verde quedó en árbol o planta del campo por toda la tierra de Egipto.

For they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened; and they ate all the grass of the land and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left; and there did not remain any green thing in the trees or in the grass of the field, through all the land of Egypt.

16 E ntonces Faraón llamó apresuradamente a Moisés y a Aarón, y dijo: “He pecado contra el Señor su Dios y contra ustedes.

Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste; and he said, I have sinned against the LORD your God and against you.

17 A hora pues, les ruego que perdonen mi pecado sólo esta vez, y que rueguen al Señor su Dios, para que quite de mí esta muerte.”

Now therefore forgive, I pray thee, my sin only this once, and intreat the LORD your God, that he may take away from me this death only.

18 M oisés salió de la presencia de Faraón y oró al Señor.

And he went out from Pharaoh and intreated the LORD.

19 Y el Señor cambió el viento a un viento occidental muy fuerte que se llevó las langostas y las arrojó al Mar Rojo. Ni una langosta quedó en todo el territorio de Egipto.

And the LORD turned a mighty strong west wind, which took away the locusts and cast them into the Red sea; there remained not one locust in all the borders of Egypt.

20 P ero el Señor endureció el corazón de Faraón, y éste no dejó ir a los Israelitas. Novena Plaga: Las Tinieblas

But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, so that he would not let the sons of Israel go.

21 E ntonces el Señor dijo a Moisés: “Extiende tu mano hacia el cielo, para que haya tinieblas sobre la tierra de Egipto, tinieblas tales que puedan tocarse.”

¶ And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt.

22 E xtendió Moisés su mano hacia el cielo, y hubo densas tinieblas en toda la tierra de Egipto por tres días.

And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven, and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days.

23 N o se veían unos a otros, nadie se levantó de su lugar por tres días, pero todos los Israelitas tenían luz en sus moradas.

They did not see one another, neither did any rise from his place for three days; but all the sons of Israel had light in their dwellings.

24 E ntonces llamó Faraón a Moisés y le dijo: “Vayan, sirvan al Señor. Sólo que sus ovejas y sus vacas queden aquí. Aun sus pequeños pueden ir con ustedes.”

Then Pharaoh called unto Moses and said, Go, serve the LORD; only let your sheep and your cows remain; let your little ones also go with you.

25 P ero Moisés contestó: “Tú también tienes que darnos sacrificios y holocaustos para que los sacrifiquemos al Señor nuestro Dios.

And Moses replied, Thou also must give us sacrifices and burnt offerings that we may sacrifice unto the LORD our God.

26 P or tanto, también nuestros ganados irán con nosotros. Ni una pezuña quedará atrás, porque de ellos tomaremos para servir al Señor nuestro Dios. Nosotros mismos no sabemos con qué hemos de servir al Señor hasta que lleguemos allá.”

Our cattle shall also go with us; not a hoof shall be left behind; for we must take thereof to serve the LORD our God; and we do not know with what we must serve the LORD until we arrive there.

27 P ero el Señor endureció el corazón de Faraón, y éste no quiso dejarlos ir.

But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he would not let them go.

28 E ntonces Faraón dijo a Moisés: “¡Apártate de mí! Cuídate de volver a ver mi rostro, porque el día en que veas mi rostro morirás.”

And Pharaoh said unto him, Go from me, take heed to thyself to see my face no more; for in the day that thou seest my face thou shalt die.

29 “ Bien has dicho, no volveré a ver tu rostro,” respondió Moisés.

And Moses replied, Thou hast spoken well, I will not see thy face again.
