1 ¿ Comenzamos otra vez a recomendarnos a nosotros mismos? ¿O acaso necesitamos, como algunos, cartas de recomendación para ustedes o de parte de ustedes?

¶ Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or do we need, as some others, epistles of commendation to you or letters of commendation from you?

2 U stedes son nuestra carta, escrita en nuestros corazones, conocida y leída por todos los hombres,

Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:

3 s iendo manifiesto que son carta de Cristo redactada por nosotros, no escrita con tinta, sino con el Espíritu del Dios vivo; no en tablas de piedra, sino en tablas de corazones humanos.

Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

4 E sta confianza tenemos hacia Dios por medio de Cristo.

And such trust we have through the Christ towards God:

5 N o que seamos suficientes en nosotros mismos para pensar que cosa alguna procede de nosotros, sino que nuestra suficiencia es de Dios,

Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves, but our sufficiency is of God,

6 e l cual también nos hizo suficientes como ministros (servidores) de un nuevo pacto, no de la letra, sino del Espíritu. Porque la letra mata, pero el Espíritu da vida.

¶ who also has made us able ministers of the new testament, not of the letter, but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

7 Y si el ministerio de muerte grabado con letras en piedras fue con gloria, de tal manera que los Israelitas no podían fijar la vista en el rostro de Moisés por causa de la gloria de su rostro, la cual se desvanecía,

But if the ministry of death in the letter engraved in stones was glorious, so that the sons of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance which glory was to fade away,

8 ¿ cómo no será aún con más gloria el ministerio del Espíritu?

How shall not the ministry of the Spirit be for greater glory?

9 P orque si el ministerio de condenación tiene gloria, mucho más abunda en gloria el ministerio de justicia.

For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, much more shall the ministry of righteousness abound in glory.

10 P ues en verdad, lo que tenía gloria, en este caso no tiene gloria por razón de la gloria que lo sobrepasa.

For even that which was so glorious had no glory in this respect, in comparison with the glory that excels.

11 P orque si lo que se desvanece fue con gloria, mucho más es con gloria lo que permanece. Transformados de Gloria en Gloria

For if that which fades away was glorious, much more shall that which remains be glorious.

12 T eniendo, por tanto, tal esperanza, hablamos con mucha franqueza.

¶ Seeing then that we have such hope, we speak with great confidence,

13 Y no somos como Moisés, que ponía un velo sobre su rostro para que los Israelitas no fijaran su vista en el fin de aquello que había de desvanecerse.

And not as Moses, who put a veil over his face, that the sons of Israel could not steadfastly look to the end of that glory which was to fade away:

14 P ero el entendimiento de ellos se endureció. Porque hasta el día de hoy, en la lectura del antiguo pacto (testamento) el mismo velo permanece sin alzarse, pues sólo en Cristo es quitado.

(And thus their senses became hardened, for until this day remains the same veil not uncovered in the reading of the old testament, which veil is taken away in Christ.

15 Y hasta el día de hoy, cada vez que se lee a Moisés, un velo está puesto sobre sus corazones.

But even unto this day when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart.

16 P ero cuando alguien se vuelve al Señor, el velo es quitado.

Nevertheless when they convert to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away.)

17 A hora bien, el Señor es el Espíritu; y donde está el Espíritu del Señor, hay libertad.

For the Lord is the Spirit, and where that Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

18 P ero todos nosotros, con el rostro descubierto, contemplando como en un espejo la gloria del Señor, estamos siendo transformados en la misma imagen de gloria en gloria, como por el Señor, el Espíritu.

Therefore we all, beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord with uncovered face, are transformed from glory to glory into the same likeness, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
