1 ¡ Ay de ti, que saqueas, y nunca fuiste saqueado; el que haces deslealtad, y que nadie la hizo contra ti! Cuando acabares de saquear, serás tú también saqueado; y cuando acabares de hacer deslealtad, se hará también contra ti.

¶ Woe to thee that dost spoil, and thou wast not spoiled; and dost deal treacherously, and they did not deal treacherously with thee! When thou shalt cease to spoil, thou shalt be spoiled; and when thou shalt make an end to dealing treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee.

2 O h SEÑOR, ten misericordia de nosotros, a ti esperamos; tú que fuiste fortaleza de su pueblo al principio, sé también nuestra salud en tiempo de la tribulación.

O LORD, have mercy on us; we wait for thee: thou wert the strength of thy people in the beginning, be also our saving health in the time of tribulation.

3 L os pueblos huyeron de la voz del estruendo; los gentiles fueron esparcidos, cuando tú te levantas contra ellos.

At the noise of the tumult the peoples fled; at the lifting up of thyself the Gentiles were scattered.

4 M as vuestra presa será cogida como cuando cogen las orugas; correrá sobre ellos como de una a otra parte corren las langostas.

And your spoil shall be gathered like the gathering of the caterpillar: as the running to and fro of locusts shall he run upon them.

5 S erá ensalzado el SEÑOR, el cual mora en las alturas; porque llenó a Sion de juicio y de justicia.

The LORD shall be exalted; he who dwells on the heights: for he has filled Zion with judgment and righteousness.

6 Y reinarán en tus tiempos la sabiduría y la ciencia, y la fuerza de la salvación; el temor del SEÑOR será su tesoro.

And in thy times wisdom and knowledge, and the strength of salvation shall reign: the fear of the LORD shall be his treasure.

7 H e aquí, que sus embajadores darán voces afuera, los mensajeros de paz llorarán amargamente.

Behold, their ambassadors shall cry without: the messengers of peace shall weep bitterly.

8 L as calzadas serán deshechas; cesaron los caminantes; anuló la alianza, aborreció las ciudades, tuvo en nada los hombres.

The highways shall be broken down; the travellers shall cease; he has broken the covenant; he has despised the cities; he does not regard man.

9 S e enlutó, enfermó la tierra; el Líbano se avergonzó, y fue cortado; Sarón fue tornado como desierto. Basán, y el Carmelo fueron sacudidos.

The earth mourns and languishes: Lebanon is ashamed and hewn down: Sharon is like a wilderness; and Bashan and Carmel were shaken.

10 A hora me levantaré, dice el SEÑOR; ahora seré ensalzado, ahora seré engrandecido.

Now I will rise up, saith the LORD; now I will be exalted; now I will be lifted up.

11 C oncebisteis hojarascas, daréis a luz aristas; el soplo de vuestro fuego os consumirá.

Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath, as fire, shall devour you.

12 Y los pueblos serán como cal quemada, como espinas cortadas serán quemadas con fuego.

And the peoples shall be as the burnings of lime: as thorns cut up they shall be burned in the fire.

13 O íd, los que estáis lejos, lo que he hecho; y vosotros los cercanos, conoced mi potencia.

¶ Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge my might.

14 L os pecadores se asombraron en Sion, espanto sobrecogió a los hipócritas. ¿Quién de nosotros morará con el fuego consumidor? ¿Quién de nosotros habitará con las llamas eternas?

The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness has surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us shall dwell with eternal flames?

15 E l que camina en justicia, el que habla rectitud, el que aborrece la ganancia de violencias, el que sacude sus manos de recibir soborno; el que tapa su oreja, por no oír sangre; el que aprieta sus ojos, por no ver cosa mala;

He that walks in righteousness, he that speaks uprightly; he that despises the gain of violence, he that shakes his hands from receiving bribes; he that stops his ears to not hear of blood; he who shuts his eyes to not see evil;

16 é ste habitará en las alturas; fortaleza de rocas será su lugar de acogimiento; a éste se dará su pan, y sus aguas serán ciertas.

he shall dwell upon the high places: fortresses of rocks shall be his place of refuge: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.

17 T us ojos verán al Rey en su hermosura; verán la tierra que está lejos.

Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off.

18 T u corazón imaginará el espanto, y dirá: ¿Qué es del escriba? ¿Qué es del pesador del tributo ? ¿Qué es del que pone en lista las casas más insignes?

Thine heart shall imagine the terror. Where is the scribe? Where is the receiver of tribute? Where is he that counted the towers?

19 N o verás a aquel pueblo espantable, pueblo de lengua oscura de entender, de lengua tartamuda, que no lo comprendas.

Thou shalt not see that fierce people, a people of a darker speech than thou can perceive; of a stammering tongue, that thou can not understand.

20 V erás a Sion, ciudad de nuestras solemnidades; tus ojos verán a Jerusalén, morada de quietud; tienda que no será desarmada, ni sus estacas serán arrancadas, ni ninguna de sus cuerdas será rota.

Thou shalt see Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken down; not one of its stakes shall ever be removed, neither shall any of its cords be broken.

21 P orque ciertamente allí será fuerte a nosotros el SEÑOR, lugar de riberas, de arroyos muy anchos, por el cual no andará galera, ni por él pasará gran navío.

For the LORD shall surely be strong unto us there, a place of broad rivers and wide streams in which no galley with oars shall go, neither shall any great ship pass thereby.

22 P orque el SEÑOR será nuestro juez, el SEÑOR será nuestro dador de leyes, el SEÑOR será nuestro rey, él mismo nos salvará.

For the LORD shall be our judge, the LORD shall be our lawgiver, the LORD shall be our king; he himself will save us.

23 T us cuerdas se aflojaron; no afirmaron su mástil, ni entesaron la vela; se repartirá presa de muchos despojos; hasta los cojos arrebatarán presa.

Thy tacklings are loosed; they did not strengthen well their mast, nor could they spread the sail: then the prey of a great spoil shall be divided; even the lame shall take prey.

24 N o dirá el morador: Estoy enfermo; el pueblo que morare en ella, será absuelto de iniquidad.

And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be absolved from sin.
