1 J unto a los ríos de Babilonia, allí nos sentábamos, y aun llorábamos, acordándonos de Sion.

¶ By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.

2 S obre los sauces que están en medio de ella colgamos nuestras arpas;

We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof;

3 c uando nos pedían allí, los que nos cautivaron, las palabras de la canción, (colgadas nuestras arpas de alegría) diciendo: Cantadnos de las canciones de Sion.

when there, those that carried us away captive asked us for the words of the song; with our harps of joy hung upon the willows saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.

4 ¿ Cómo cantaremos canción del SEÑOR en tierra de extraños?

How shall we sing the song of the LORD in the land of strangers?

5 S i me olvidare de ti, oh Jerusalén, mi diestra sea olvidada.

If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, my right hand shall be forgotten.

6 M i lengua se pegue a mi paladar, si de ti no me acordare; si no ensalzare a Jerusalén como preferente asunto de mi alegría.

If I do not remember thee, my tongue shall cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I do not prefer to lift up Jerusalem as my chief joy.

7 ¶ Acuérdate, oh SEÑOR, de los hijos de Edom en el día de Jerusalén; quienes decían: Arrasadla, arrasadla hasta los cimientos.

¶ Remember, O LORD, the sons of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Raze it, raze it, even to the foundation thereof.

8 H ija de Babilonia destruida, dichoso el que te diere tu pago, que nos pagaste a nosotros.

O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewards thee as thou hast served us.

9 D ichoso el que tomara y estrellara tus niños a las piedras.

Happy shall he be, that takes and dashes thy offspring against the stones.
