1 Y respondió Job al SEÑOR, y dijo:

¶ Then Job answered the LORD, and said,

2 Y o sé que todo lo puedes, y que no hay pensamiento que se esconda de ti.

I know that thou canst do every thing and that there is no thought hidden from thee.

3 ¿ Quién es el que esconde el consejo sin conocimiento? Por tanto yo denunciaba lo que no entendía; cosas maravillosas, que no las sabía.

Who is he that hides counsel without knowledge? Therefore, I have denounced that which I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.

4 O ye ahora, y hablaré; te preguntaré, y tú me harás saber.

Hear, now, and I will speak; I will ask of thee, and thou shalt cause me to know.

5 D e oídas te había oído; mas ahora mis ojos te ven.

With my ears I had heard thee; but now my eyes see thee.

6 P or tanto me aborrezco, y me arrepiento en el polvo y en la ceniza.

Therefore, I abhor myself and repent in dust and ashes.

7 ¶ Y aconteció que después que habló el SEÑOR estas palabras a Job, el SEÑOR dijo a Elifaz temanita: Mi ira se encendió contra ti y tus dos compañeros, porque no habéis hablado por mí con rectitud, como mi siervo Job.

¶ And it was so, that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz, the Temanite, My wrath has been kindled against thee, and against thy two friends; for ye have not spoken by me in uprightness, as my slave Job has.

8 A hora pues, tomaos siete becerros y siete carneros, y andad a mi siervo Job, y ofreced holocausto por vosotros, y mi siervo Job orará por vosotros; solamente porque recibiré a él no os trataré según su locura, por cuanto no habéis hablado por mí con rectitud, como mi siervo Job.

Therefore, take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my slave Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my slave Job shall pray for you; for only because I will accept him, I shall not deal with you according to your folly, in that ye have not spoken by me in uprightness, like my slave Job.

9 F ueron pues Elifaz temanita, y Bildad suhita, y Zofar naamatita, e hicieron como el SEÑOR les mandó; y el SEÑOR recibió a Job.

So Eliphaz, the Temanite, and Bildad, the Shuhite, and Zophar, the Naamathite, went, and did according as the LORD commanded them; and the LORD accepted Job.

10 ¶ Y tornó el SEÑOR la cautividad de Job, orando él por sus amigos; y aumentó al doble todas las cosas que habían sido de Job.

¶ And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends; also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.

11 Y vinieron a él todos sus hermanos, y todas sus hermanas, y todos los que antes le habían conocido, y comieron con él pan en su casa, y se condolieron de él, y le consolaron de todo aquel mal que el SEÑOR había traído sobre él. Y cada uno de ellos le dio una cordera, y un zarcillo de oro.

Then all his brethren came unto him and all his sisters and all those that had been of his acquaintance before and ate bread with him in his house; and they condoled him and comforted him over all the evil that the LORD had brought upon him; each one also gave him an ewe, and an earring of gold.

12 Y el SEÑOR bendijo a la postrimería de Job más que a su principio; porque tuvo catorce mil ovejas, y seis mil camellos, y mil yuntas de bueyes, y mil asnas.

So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning; for he had fourteen thousand sheep and six thousand camels and a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand she asses.

13 Y tuvo siete hijos y tres hijas.

He also had seven sons and three daughters.

14 Y llamó el nombre de la una, Jemima, y el nombre de la segunda, Cesia, y el nombre de la tercera, Keren-hapuc.

And he called the name of the first, Jemima, and the name of the second, Kezia, and the name of the third, Kerenhappuch.

15 Y no se hallaron mujeres tan hermosas como las hijas de Job en toda la tierra; y les dio su padre herencia entre sus hermanos.

And in all the land no women were found as beautiful as the daughters of Job; and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren.

16 Y después de esto vivió Job ciento cuarenta años, y vio a sus hijos, y a los hijos de sus hijos, hasta la cuarta generación.

After this Job lived one hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons’ sons, even four generations.

17 M urió pues Job viejo, y lleno de días.

So Job died, being old and full of days.
