1 E n el año diecisiete de Peka hijo de Remalías, comenzó a reinar Acaz hijo de Jotam rey de Judá.

¶ In the year seventeen of Pekah, the son of Remaliah, Ahaz, the son of Jotham, king of Judah, began to reign.

2 C uando comenzó a reinar Acaz, era de veinte años, y reinó en Jerusalén dieciséis años; y no hizo lo recto ante los ojos del SEÑOR su Dios, como David su padre;

Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem and did not do that which was right in the sight of the LORD his God like David, his father.

3 a ntes anduvo en el camino de los reyes de Israel, y aun hizo pasar por el fuego a su hijo, según las abominaciones de los gentiles que el SEÑOR echó de delante de los hijos de Israel.

But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel and even made his son pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the Gentiles, whom the LORD cast out from before the sons of Israel.

4 A simismo sacrificó, y quemó incienso en los altos, y sobre los collados, y debajo de todo árbol umbroso.

Likewise he sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places and on the hills and under every green tree.

5 E ntonces Rezín rey de Siria, y Peka hijo de Remalías rey de Israel, subieron a Jerusalén para hacer guerra, y cercar a Acaz; mas no pudieron tomarla.

¶ Then Rezin, king of Syria, and Pekah, son of Remaliah, king of Israel, came up to Jerusalem to war; and they besieged Ahaz but could not overcome him.

6 E n aquel tiempo Rezín rey de Siria restituyó Elat a Siria, y echó a los Judíos de Elat; y los Sirios vinieron a Elat, y habitaron allí hasta hoy.

At that time Rezin, king of Syria, recovered Elath to Syria and drove the Jews from Elath; and the Syrians came to Elath and dwelt there unto this day.

7 E ntonces Acaz envió embajadores a Tiglat-pileser rey de Asiria, diciendo: Yo soy tu siervo y tu hijo; sube, y defiéndeme de mano del rey de Siria, y de mano del rey de Israel, que se han levantado contra mí.

So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglathpileser, king of Assyria, saying, I am thy slave and thy son; come up and save me out of the hand of the king of Syria and out of the hand of the king of Israel, who have risen up against me.

8 Y tomando Acaz la plata y el oro que se halló en la Casa del SEÑOR, y en los tesoros de la casa real, envió al rey de Asiria soborno.

And Ahaz took the silver and gold that was found in the house of the LORD and in the treasury of the king’s house and sent it for a bribe to the king of Assyria.

9 Y le oyó el rey de Asiria; y subió el rey de Asiria contra Damasco, y la tomó, y transportó los moradores a Cirene, y mató a Rezín.

And the king of Assyria hearkened unto him, for the king of Assyria went up against Damascus and took it and carried the people of it captive to Kir and slew Rezin.

10 ¶ Y fue el rey Acaz a encontrar a Tiglat-pileser rey de Asiria en Damasco; y viendo el rey Acaz el altar que estaba en Damasco, envió a Urías el sacerdote el diseño y la descripción del altar, conforme a toda su hechura.

¶ And King Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglathpileser, King of Assyria, and saw the altar that was at Damascus; and king Ahaz sent to Urijah, the priest, the fashion of the altar and the pattern of it, according to all the workmanship of it.

11 Y Urías el sacerdote edificó el altar; conforme a todo lo que el rey Acaz había enviado de Damasco, así lo hizo el sacerdote Urías, entre tanto que el rey Acaz venía de Damasco.

And Urijah, the priest, built an altar according to all that King Ahaz had sent from Damascus; so Urijah, the priest, made it while King Ahaz returned from Damascus.

12 Y luego que vino el rey de Damasco, y vio el altar, se acercó el rey a él, y sacrificó en él;

And when the king was come from Damascus, the king saw the altar; and the king came near to the altar and offered upon it.

13 y encendió su holocausto, y su presente, y derramó sus libaciones, y esparció la sangre de sus pacíficos junto al altar.

And he burnt his burnt offering and his present and poured his drink offering and sprinkled the blood of his peace offerings, next to the altar.

14 Y el altar de bronce que estaba delante del SEÑOR, lo hizo acercar delante de la frontera de la Casa, entre el altar y el templo del SEÑOR, y lo puso al lado del altar hacia el aquilón.

And the brasen altar which had been before the LORD, he caused to be moved in front of the forefront of the house, from between the altar and the house of the LORD, and he put it beside the altar towards the Aquilon.

15 Y mandó el rey Acaz al sacerdote Urías, diciendo: En el gran altar encenderás el holocausto de la mañana y el presente de la tarde, y el holocausto del rey y su presente, y asimismo el holocausto de todo el pueblo de la tierra y su presente, y sus libaciones; y toda sangre de holocausto, y toda sangre de sacrificio, esparcirás junto a él; y el altar de bronce será mío para consultar en él.

And King Ahaz commanded Urijah, the priest, saying, Upon the great altar burn the morning burnt offering and the evening present and the king’s burnt sacrifice and his present, and likewise the burnt offering of all the people of the land and their present and their drink offerings, and sprinkle upon it all the blood of the burnt offering and all the blood of the sacrifice; and the brasen altar shall be mine to enquire by.

16 E hizo el sacerdote Urías conforme a todas las cosas que el rey Acaz le mandó.

Thus did Urijah, the priest, according to all that King Ahaz commanded him.

17 Y cortó el rey Acaz las molduras de las basas, y les quitó las fuentes; quitó también el mar de sobre los bueyes de bronce que estaban debajo de él, y lo puso sobre el solado de piedra.

¶ And King Ahaz cut off the borders of the bases and removed the lavers from off them and took down the sea from off the brasen oxen that were under it and put it upon a pavement of stones.

18 A simismo la tienda del sábado que habían edificado en la Casa, y el pasadizo de afuera del rey, los mudó a las espaldas de la Casa del SEÑOR, por amor del rey de Asiria.

And the covert for the sabbath that they had built in the house and the king’s entry outside, he moved behind the house of the LORD, for the sake of the king of Assyria.

19 L os demás hechos de Acaz que hizo, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?

Now the rest of the acts of Ahaz which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

20 Y durmió el rey Acaz con sus padres y fue sepultado con sus padres en la ciudad de David; y reinó en su lugar Ezequías su hijo.

And Ahaz slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David; and Hezekiah, his son, reigned in his stead.
