1 J esus was born in the town of Bethlehem in the country of Judea. It was the time when Herod was king of that part of the country. Soon after Jesus was born, some wise men who learned things from stars came to Jerusalem from the East.

Иисус родился в иудейском городе Вифлееме во времена правления царя Ирода. После рождения Иисуса в Иерусалим пришли мудрецы с востока.

2 T hey asked, “Where is the King of the Jews Who has been born? We have seen His star in the East. We have come to worship Him.”

Они спрашивали людей: – Где новорожденный Царь иудеев? Мы видели Его звезду на востоке и пришли поклониться Ему.

3 K ing Herod heard this. He and all the people of Jerusalem were worried.

Услышав об этом, царь Ирод встревожился, а с ним и весь Иерусалим.

4 H e called together all the religious leaders of the Jews and the teachers of the Law. Herod asked them where Christ was to be born.

Он созвал к себе всех знатных священников и учителей Закона и спросил их, где должен был родиться Христос.

5 T hey said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea. The early preacher wrote,

– В иудейском Вифлееме,– ответили ему, – потому что так написано у пророка:

6 ‘ You, Bethlehem of Judah, are not the least of the leaders of Judah. Out of you will come a King Who will lead My people the Jews.’”

«И ты, Вифлеем, в земле Иудеи, ты вовсе не наименьший среди главных городов Иудеи. Из тебя выйдет Правитель, Который будет пасти народ Мой Израиль.

7 T hen Herod had a secret meeting with the men who learned things from stars. He asked them about what time the star had been seen.

Тогда Ирод тайно пригласил к себе мудрецов и узнал у них точное время появления звезды.

8 H e sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and find the young Child. When you find Him, let me know. Then I can go and worship Him also.”

Он отослал их в Вифлеем с наказом: – Идите и тщательно разузнайте все о Младенце. Когда вы Его найдете, известите меня, чтобы и я смог пойти и поклониться Ему.

9 A fter the king had spoken, they went on their way. The star they had seen in the East went before them. It came and stopped over the place where the young Child was.

Выслушав наказ царя, они отправились в путь. Звезда, которую они видели на востоке. шла впереди них, пока наконец не остановилась над местом, где был Младенец.

10 W hen they saw the star, they were filled with much joy.

Увидев звезду, мудрецы очень сильно обрадовались.

11 T hey went into the house and found the young Child with Mary, His mother. Then they got down before Him and worshiped Him. They opened their bags of riches and gave Him gifts of gold and perfume and spices.

Когда они вошли в дом и увидели Младенца и Его мать Марию, они, павши, поклонились Ему и, открыв свои сокровища, поднесли Ему подарки: золото, ладан и смирну.

12 T hen God spoke to them in a dream. He told them not to go back to Herod. So they went to their own country by another road. Joseph Goes to Egypt

Но во сне они были предупреждены о том, что им нельзя возвращаться к Ироду, и вернулись в свою страну другим путем. Бегство в Египет

13 W hen they had gone, an angel of the Lord came to Joseph in a dream. He said, “Get up. Take the young Child and His mother to the country of Egypt. Go as fast as you can! Stay there until you hear from Me. Herod is going to look for the young Child to kill Him.”

Когда мудрецы ушли, Иосифу во сне явился ангел Господень и сказал: – Вставай, возьми Младенца и Его мать и беги с ними в Египет. Оставайтесь там, пока я не скажу, потому что Ирод собирается найти Младенца и убить Его.

14 D uring the night he got up and left with the young Child and His mother for Egypt.

Иосиф взял Младенца с Его матерью, и ночью они ушли в Египет.

15 H e stayed there until Herod died. This happened as the Lord had said through an early preacher, “I called My Son out of Egypt.” Herod Had All the Young Boys Killed

Там он оставался до смерти Ирода. Так исполнились слова, сказанные Господом через пророка: «Из Египта призвал Я Сына Моего». Приказ Ирода об убийстве детей

16 H erod learned that the wise men had fooled him. He was very angry. He sent men to kill all the young boys two years old and under in Bethlehem and in all the country near by. He decided to do this from what he had heard from the wise men as to the time when the star was seen.

Когда Ирод понял, что мудрецы его обманули, он пришел в ярость и приказал убить в Вифлееме и его окрестностях всех мальчиков в возрасте до двух лет. Время рождения Младенца он определил со слов мудрецов.

17 T hen it happened as the early preacher Jeremiah said it would happen.

Таким образом исполнилось предсказанное через пророка Иеремию:

18 H e said, “The sound of crying and much sorrow was heard in Ramah. Rachel was crying for her children. She would not be comforted because they were dead.” Joseph Goes from Egypt to Nazareth

«Голос слышен в Раме, плач и горькое рыдание, – плачет о детях своих Рахиль и не хочет утешиться, потому что их больше нет». Возвращение из Египта

19 A fter Herod died, an angel of the Lord came to Joseph in a dream while he was in Egypt.

После смерти Ирода Иосифу в Египте во сне явился ангел Господень.

20 H e said, “Get up. Take the young Child and His mother and go into the land of the Jews. Those who tried to kill the young Child are dead.”

– Вставай, – сказал он, – возьми Ребенка и Его мать и возвращайтесь в Израиль. Тех, кто хотел убить Ребенка, уже нет в живых.

21 J oseph got up. He took the young Child and His mother and came into the land of the Jews.

Иосиф взял Ребенка и Его мать, и они отправились в израильскую землю.

22 J oseph heard that Archelaus was the king of the country of Judea. Herod, the father of Archelaus, had died. Joseph was afraid to go there. God told him in a dream to go to the country of Galilee and he went.

Когда Иосиф узнал, что в Иудее вместо Ирода царствует его сын Архелай, он побоялся возвращаться, но, получив во сне еще одно указание, пошел в Галилею,

23 J oseph stayed in a town called Nazareth. It happened as the early preachers said it would happen. They said, “Jesus will be called a Nazarene.”

и поселился там в городе Назарете. Так исполнились слова пророков, что Его будут называть Назореем.
