1 S o David left there and ran to the cave of Adullam. When his brothers and all those of his father’s house heard about it, they went down there to him.

Давид покинул Гат и спасся в пещере Адуллама. Когда его отец и весь его дом услышали об этом, они спустились к нему.

2 T hen everyone who was in trouble, everyone who owed money, and everyone who was not happy with the way he was living, came together to him. He became their captain. There were about 400 men with him.

Все несчастные, обиженные и все должники собрались вокруг него, и он стал их вождем. С ним было около четырехсот человек.

3 D avid went from there to Mizpah of Moab. He said to the king of Moab, “I beg of you, let my father and mother come and stay with you until I know what God will do for me.”

Оттуда Давид пошел в Мицпу, что в Моаве, и сказал царю Моава: − Пожалуйста, позволь моим родителям прийти и побыть у вас, пока я не узнаю, что сделает для меня Бог.

4 T hen he left them with the king of Moab. They stayed with him all the time that David was in his safe place.

Он оставил их у царя Моава, и они оставались у него все время, пока Давид находился в том убежище.

5 T he man who told what will happen in the future, Gad, said to David, “Do not stay in this strong place. Leave, and go into the land of Judah.” So David left and went among the trees of Hereth.

Но пророк Гад сказал Давиду: − Не оставайся в убежище. Иди в землю Иудеи. Давид ушел и пришел в Херетский лес. Саул убивает новских священников

6 N ow Saul heard that David and the men with him had been found. Saul was sitting in Gibeah under the tamarisk tree on the high place with his spear in his hand. All his servants were standing around him.

Саул услышал о том, что Давид и его люди обнаружены. Он с копьем в руке сидел под тамариском на холме в Гиве, и его приближенные стояли вокруг него.

7 S aul said to his servants who stood around him, “Hear now, you Benjamites! Will the son of Jesse give all of you fields and grape fields? Will he make you all leaders of thousands and hundreds?

Саул сказал им: − Слушайте, вениамитяне! Разве сын Иессея даст вам всем поля и виноградники? Разве он сделает всех вас тысячниками и сотниками?

8 F or all of you have made plans against me. No one lets me know when my son makes an agreement with the son of Jesse. None of you is sorry for me or lets me know that my son has caused my servant to be against me and hide and wait, as it is this day.”

Неужели поэтому вы все сговорились против меня? Никто не открыл мне, когда мой сын заключил дружеский союз с сыном Иессея. Никто из вас не пожалел меня и не открыл мне, что мой сын настроил против меня моего слугу, чтобы тот устроил мне засаду, как он и делает сегодня.

9 D oeg the Edomite, who was standing by Saul’s servants, said, “I saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub.

Но эдомитянин Доэг, который стоял вместе с приближенными Саула, сказал: − Я видел, как сын Иессея приходил к Ахимелеху, сыну Ахитува, в Нов.

10 A himelech asked the Lord what David should do. He gave David food and the sword of Goliath the Philistine.”

Ахимелех спрашивал для него Господа. Еще он снабдил его продовольствием и дал ему меч филистимлянина Голиафа.

11 T hen the king sent someone to call Ahimelech the religious leader, son of Ahitub, and all those of his father’s family, the religious leaders who were in Nob. And all of them came to the king.

Тогда царь послал за священником Ахимелехом, сыном Ахитува, и за всей семьей его отца, члены которой были священниками в Нове, и все они пришли к царю.

12 S aul said, “Hear now, son of Ahitub.” He answered, “Here I am, my lord.”

Саул сказал: − Послушай-ка, сын Ахитува. − Да, мой господин, − ответил тот.

13 S aul said to him, “Why have you and the son of Jesse planned against me? Why have you given him bread and a sword, and have asked the Lord what he should do, so he could rise against me and wait in hiding, as it is this day?”

Саул сказал ему: − Почему вы сговорились против меня, ты и сын Иессея?! Ты дал ему хлеб и меч, спрашивал для него Бога, чтобы он восстал против меня и устроил мне засаду, как он и делает сегодня.

14 A himelech answered the king, “Who among all your servants is as faithful as David? He is the king’s son-in-law. He is captain of the soldiers who keep you safe, and is honored in your house.

Ахимелех ответил царю: − Кто из всех твоих слуг так верен тебе, как Давид, который и зять царя, и начальник над твоей стражей, и высоко почитаем в твоем доме?

15 I s today the first time that I have asked things of God for him? No! Do not let the king do anything wrong to his servant or any of those of my father’s family. For your servant knows nothing at all about this.”

Разве в тот день я в первый раз спрашивал для него Бога? Конечно, нет! Пусть царь не винит ни твоего слугу, ни кого-либо из членов семьи моего отца, ведь твой слуга совсем ничего не знает об этом деле.

16 B ut the king said, “You will die for sure, Ahimelech, you and all those of your father’s family!”

Но царь сказал: − Ты непременно умрешь, Ахимелех, ты и вся семья твоего отца.

17 T he king said to the soldiers who stood around him, “Turn and put the religious leaders of the Lord to death. Because they are on David’s side. They knew he was running away, and did not tell me.” But the servants of the king were not willing to go against the religious leaders of the Lord.

И царь приказал страже, которая стояла при нем: − Ступайте и убейте священников Господа, потому что они также примкнули к Давиду. Они знали, что он сбежал, а мне не открыли. Но слуги царя не хотели поднять руку на священников Господа, чтобы убить их.

18 T hen the king said to Doeg, “You turn and kill the religious leaders.” And Doeg the Edomite turned and killed the religious leaders. That day he killed eighty-five men who wore the linen vest.

Тогда царь приказал Доэгу: − Ты ступай и умертви священников. И эдомитянин Доэг пошел и умертвил их. В тот день он убил восемьдесят пять человек, которые носили льняной эфод.

19 T hen he destroyed Nob, the city of the religious leaders, with the sword. He killed men and women, children and babies, cattle, donkeys and sheep, with the sword.

Затем он предал мечу Нов, город священников, вместе со всеми его мужчинами и женщинами, детьми и младенцами, волами, ослами и овцами.

20 B ut Abiathar, one of the sons of Ahimelech the son of Ahitub, got away and ran after David.

Но один из сыновей Ахимелеха, сына Ахитува, по имени Авиатар, спасся и бежал к Давиду.

21 A biathar told David that Saul had killed the religious leaders of the Lord.

Он рассказал Давиду, что Саул убил священников Господа.

22 D avid said to Abiathar, “I knew that day when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would be sure to tell Saul. I am to blame for the death of every person in your father’s family.

Давид сказал Авиатару: − Когда там был эдомитянин Доэг, я знал, что он непременно расскажет Саулу. Я в ответе за гибель всей семьи твоего отца.

23 S tay with me. Do not be afraid. For he who wants to kill me wants to kill you. But you are safe with me.”

Оставайся со мной, не бойся, тот, кто охотится за твоей жизнью, охотится и за моей. У меня ты в безопасности.
