1 T hen King Darius had men look through the books which were kept in Babylon.

Царь Дарий дал повеление, и в архивах, что хранились в сокровищнице в Вавилоне, устроили поиск.

2 A nd in Ecbatana, the most important city in the land of Media, a book was found in which was written:

В Екбатане, столице провинции Мидии, нашелся свиток, и в нем было написано: Памятная запись:

3 “ In the first year of King Cyrus, Cyrus the king said that this was to be done about the house of God at Jerusalem: ‘Let the house of God, the place where burnt gifts are given in worship, be built again with a good base. It should be sixteen times taller than a man, and as wide as thirty long steps.

В первый год правления царя Кира царь отдал повеление о Божьем доме в Иерусалиме: Пусть дом – место, где приносятся жертвы и сжигаются всесожжения, – будет отстроен, и пусть будут заложены его основания. Пусть он будет шестьдесят локтей в высоту и шестьдесят локтей в ширину,

4 T here should be three very large stones laid on the top of each other, and then one large piece of wood laid. Let it be paid for from the king’s money.

с тремя рядами из больших камней и одним – из дерева. Расходы пусть будут оплачены из царской казны.

5 L et the gold and silver objects which Nebuchadnezzar took from the house of God in Jerusalem and brought to Babylon be returned to their places in the house of God in Jerusalem. You must put them in the house of God.’

А еще золотые и серебряные вещи Божьего дома, которые Навуходоносор забрал из Иерусалимского храма и принес в Вавилон, пусть вернутся на свое место в Иерусалимский храм: пусть их поместят в Божьем доме.

6 “ So now, Tattenai, leader over the land on the other side of the River, Shethar-bozenai, and your friends who are leaders in the lands on the other side of the River, stay away from there.

Итак, Таттенай, наместник провинции за Евфратом, Шетар-Бознай и вы, их сподвижники, чиновники этой провинции, держитесь подальше.

7 L eave this work on the house of God alone. Let the leaders of the Jews build this house of God again where it stood before.

Не вмешивайтесь в работу над этим Божьим домом. Пусть иудейский наместник и старейшины иудеев отстраивают этот дом Божий на его прежнем месте.

8 A lso, I am making it known what you are to do for these leaders of Judah for the building of this house of God. All of it is to be paid for from the king’s money out of the taxes from the lands on the other side of the River. And waste no time to get it to them.

Более того, я даю повеление о том, чем вы должны помогать этим старейшинам иудеев в постройке этого Божьего дома: расходы этих людей следует полностью оплатить из царской казны, из доходов провинции за Евфратом, чтобы работа не останавливалась.

9 B e sure to give them each day whatever is needed, young bulls, rams and lambs for a burnt gift to the God of heaven, and grain, salt, wine, and oil for pouring.

Все, что бы ни потребовалось: тельцы, бараны, ягнята для всесожжений Богу небесному, пшеница, соль, вино и масло, как скажут священники из Иерусалима, должно выдаваться им ежедневно без промедления,

10 T his is so they may give pleasing gifts in worship to the God of heaven and pray for the life of the king and his sons.

чтобы они могли приносить жертвы, угодные Богу небесному, и молиться о благополучии царя и его сыновей.

11 I here make it known that if anyone does not do what I say, a piece of wood will be taken from his house and he will be nailed on it. And his house will become a place to gather waste.

Я даю и такое повеление, что если кто-нибудь изменит этот указ, то пусть из его дома вынут кол и посадят его на него. Пусть его дом за это преступление будет превращен в груду развалин.

12 M ay the God Who has caused His name to be there take away the power of any king or people who will try to change what I have said, so as to destroy this house of God in Jerusalem. I, Darius, have told this to you. Let it be done with much care.” The House of God Is Set Apart for Use

Пусть Бог, Который утвердил там Свое Имя, низложит всякого царя или народ, которые поднимут руку, чтобы изменить этот указ или разрушить этот иерусалимский дом. Так повелел я, Дарий. Да будет исполнено это со всем усердием. Завершение строительства храма и его освящение

13 T hen Tattenai, the leader over the land on the other side of the River, and Shethar-bozenai and their friends obeyed the words of the king with much care, just as King Darius had told them.

И наместник провинции за Евфратом Таттенай, Шетар-Бознай и их сподвижники со всем старанием исполнили то, что повелел царь Дарий.

14 T he leaders of the Jews did well in building, through the words spoken by Haggai the man who spoke for God and Zechariah the son of Iddo. They finished building as they had been told to do by the God of Israel, and by Cyrus, Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia.

И старейшины иудеев продолжали строить и преуспевали в то самое время, когда пророчествовали пророки Аггей и Захария, внук Иддо. Они завершили строительство дома по повелению Бога Израиля и указам Кира, Дария и Артаксеркса, царей Персии.

15 T he house of God was finished on the third day of the month of Adar, in the sixth year of the rule of King Darius.

Строительство дома было завершено на третий день месяца адара, в шестой год правления царя Дария.

16 T he people of Israel, the religious leaders, the Levites, and the rest of the people who returned from Babylon, set apart this house of God with joy.

Весь народ Израиля – священники, левиты и все остальные возвратившиеся из плена – радостно отпраздновали посвящение Божьего дома.

17 T o set apart this house of God they gave 100 bulls, 200 rams, 400 lambs. For a sin gift for all Israel they gave twelve male goats, one for each number of the families of Israel.

Для освящения этого Божьего дома они принесли в жертву сто быков, двести баранов, четыреста ягнят и в жертву за грех всего Израиля – двенадцать козлов, по одному за каждый израильский род.

18 T hen they put the religious leaders and the Levites into groups by the work they were to do for God in Jerusalem, as it is written in the book of Moses. The Passover

Затем они поставили священников по их отделениям и левитов по их группам для служения Богу в Иерусалиме, как предписано в книге Моисея. Пасха

19 T he people who had returned from Babylon kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month.

В четырнадцатый день первого месяца возвратившиеся из плена отпраздновали Пасху.

20 F or the religious leaders and the Levites had made themselves holy together. All of them were clean. Then they killed the Passover lamb for all the people, for their brothers the religious leaders, and for themselves.

Священники и левиты очистились, и все были ритуально чисты. Левиты закололи пасхального ягненка для всех возвратившихся из плена, для своих собратьев-священников и для самих себя.

21 I t was eaten by the people of Israel who returned from Babylon and all those who had separated themselves from the sin of the nations of the land to join them and to look for the Lord God of Israel.

И израильтяне, вернувшиеся из плена, ели вместе со всеми теми, кто удалился от нечистых обычаев своих соседей-язычников, чтобы прибегнуть за помощью к Господу, Богу Израиля.

22 T hey kept the Special Supper of Bread Without Yeast for seven days with joy, for the Lord had made them very happy. He had turned the heart of the king of Assyria toward them to give them strength in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.

Семь дней они радостно отмечали праздник Пресных хлебов, потому что Господь наполнил их радостью, расположив к ним царя Ассирии так, что тот стал помогать им в работе над домом Господа, Бога Израиля.
