Hear, my sons, the instruction of a father, and pay attention in order to gain and to know intelligent discernment, comprehension, and interpretation.

2 П онеже ви давам добро учение, не изоставяйте наставлението ми.

For I give you good doctrine; do not forsake my teaching.

3 З ащото и аз бях син на баща си, гален и най-любим на майка си,

When I was a son with my father, tender and the only son in the sight of my mother,

4 и той ме наставляваше и ми казваше: Пази думите ми в сърцето си, пази заповедите ми и ще живееш,

He taught me and said to me, Let your heart hold fast my words; keep my commandments and live.

5 п ридобий мъдрост, придобий разум; не забравяй, нито се отклонявай от думите на устата ми.

Get skillful and godly Wisdom, get understanding (discernment, comprehension, and interpretation); do not forget and do not turn back from the words of my mouth.

6 Н е я изоставяй и тя ще те пази. Обичай я - и ще те предпазва.

Forsake not, and she will keep, defend, and protect you; love her, and she will guard you.

7 Г лавното е мъдростта; затова придобивай мъдрост; и при всичко, което си придобил, прибавяй разум.

The beginning of Wisdom is: get Wisdom (skillful and godly Wisdom)! And with all you have gotten, get understanding (discernment, comprehension, and interpretation).

8 В ъздигай я и тя ще те въздигне; когато я прегърнеш, ще ти донесе слава.

Prize Wisdom highly and exalt her, and she will exalt and promote you; she will bring you to honor when you embrace her.

9 Щ е положи на главата ти красив венец. Ще ти даде славна корона.

She shall give to your head a wreath of gracefulness; a crown of beauty and glory will she deliver to you.

10 С лушай ме, сине мой, и приеми думите ми, и годините на живота ти ще се умножат.

Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings, and the years of your life shall be many.

11 Н аставлявал съм те в пътя на мъдростта, водил съм те по прави пътеки.

I have taught you in the way of skillful and godly Wisdom; I have led you in paths of uprightness.

12 К огато ходиш, стъпките ти няма да бъдат къси; и когато тичаш, няма да се спънеш.

When you walk, your steps shall not be hampered; and when you run, you shall not stumble.

13 Х вани се здраво за поуката, недей я оставя; пази я, понеже тя е животът ти.

Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go; guard her, for she is your life.

14 Н е влизай в пътеката на нечестивите и не ходи по пътя на лошите.

Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.

15 О тбягвай от него, не минавай край него. Отклони се от него и замини.

Avoid it, do not go on it; turn from it and pass on.

16 З ащото те не заспиват, ако не сторят зло, и сън не ги хваща, ако не спънат някого.

For they cannot sleep unless they have caused trouble or vexation; their sleep is taken away unless they have caused someone to fall.

17 П онеже ядат хляб на нечестие и пият вино на насилие.

For they eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence.

18 А пътят на праведните е като светлината на разсъмване, която се развиделява, докато стане съвършен ден.

But the path of the just and righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines more and more (brighter and clearer) until the perfect day.

19 П ътят на нечестивите е като тъмнина; не знаят от какво се спъват. Мъдростта води към живот

The way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know over what they stumble.

20 С ине мой, внимавай в думите ми, приклони ухото си към беседите ми.

My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings.

21 Д а не се отдалечат от очите ти. Пази ги дълбоко в сърцето си,

Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart.

22 з ащото те са живот за тези, които ги намират, и здраве за цялото им тяло.

For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh.

23 П овече от всичко друго, което пазиш, пази сърцето си, защото от него са изворите на живота.

Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.

24 О тмахни от себе си лъжливи уста и отдалечи от себе си развратени устни.

Put away from you false and dishonest speech, and willful and contrary talk put far from you.

25 О чите ти нека гледат право напред и клепачите ти нека бъдат оправени право пред теб.

Let your eyes look right on, and let your gaze be straight before you.

26 О бмисляй внимателно пътеката на краката си и всичките ти пътища нека бъдат добре уредени.

Consider well the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established and ordered aright.

27 Н е се отбивай нито надясно, нито наляво; отклони крака си от зло.

Turn not aside to the right hand or to the left; remove your foot from evil.
