1 С лед като свърши всички Свои речи към народа, който Го слушаше, Исус влезе в Капернаум.

After Jesus had finished all that He had to say in the hearing of the people, He entered Capernaum.

2 А на някой си стотник слугата, който му беше мил, беше болен на умиране.

Now a centurion had a bond servant who was held in honor and highly valued by him, who was sick and at the point of death.

3 И като чу за Исус, изпрати до Него някои юдейски старейшини да го помолят да дойде и изцели слугата му.

And when the centurion heard of Jesus, he sent some Jewish elders to Him, requesting Him to come and make his bond servant well.

4 А те дойдоха при Исус и Го молеха настоятелно, като казваха: Той заслужава да направиш това за него,

And when they reached Jesus, they begged Him earnestly, saying, He is worthy that You should do this for him,

5 з ащото обича нашия народ и той ни е построил синагогата.

For he loves our nation and he built us our synagogue.

6 Д окато Исус вървеше с тях и беше вече недалеч от къщата, стотникът изпрати до Него приятели да Му кажат: Господи, не си прави труд, защото не съм достоен да влезеш под покрива ми;

And Jesus went with them. But when He was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to Him, saying, Lord, do not trouble, for I am not sufficiently worthy to have You come under my roof;

7 з атова не сметнах себе си достоен да дойда при Тебе; кажи само дума и слугата ми ще оздравее.

Neither did I consider myself worthy to come to You. But speak a word, and my servant boy will be healed.

8 З ащото и аз съм човек, поставен под власт, и имам подчинени на мене войници; и казвам на един: Иди!, и той отива; и на друг: Ела!, и идва; и на слугата си: Направи това!, и той го прави.

For I also am a man subject to authority, with soldiers under me. And I say to one, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my bond servant, Do this, and he does it.

9 К ато чу това, Исус му се почуди; обърна се и каза на вървящото след Него множество: Казвам ви, дори в Израел не съм намерил толкова вяра.

Now when Jesus heard this, He marveled at him, and He turned and said to the crowd that followed Him, I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such great faith.

10 И когато изпратените се върнаха в къщата, намериха слугата оздравял. Възкресяването на сина на вдовицата от Наин

And when the messengers who had been sent returned to the house, they found the bond servant who had been ill quite well again.

11 А скоро след това Исус отиде в един град, наречен Наин; и с Него вървяха учениците Му и едно голямо множество.

Soon afterward, Jesus went to a town called Nain, and His disciples and a great throng accompanied Him.

12 И когато се приближи до градската порта, ето, изнасяха мъртвец, единствен син на майка си, която беше и вдовица; и с нея имаше голямо множество от града.

as He drew near the gate of the town, behold, a man who had died was being carried out—the only son of his mother, and she was a widow; and a large gathering from the town was accompanying her.

13 И Господ, като я видя, смили се над нея и ѝ каза: Недей да плачеш.

And when the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, Do not weep.

14 Т огава се приближи и се допря до носилката; а носачите се спряха. И каза: Момче, казвам ти, стани.

And He went forward and touched the funeral bier, and the pallbearers stood still. And He said, Young man, I say to you, arise '> from death]!

15 И мъртвият се повдигна и седна, и започна да говори. И Исус го предаде на майка му.

And the man dead sat up and began to speak. And gave him to his mother.

16 Т огава страх обзе всички и славеха Бога, като казваха: Велик пророк се издигна между нас; и Бог посети Своя народ.

Profound and reverent fear seized them all, and they began to recognize God and praise and give thanks, saying, A great Prophet has appeared among us! And God has visited His people!

17 И мълвата за Него се разнесе по цяла Юдея и по цялата околност. Исус Христос и Йоан Кръстител

And this report concerning spread through the whole of Judea and all the country round about.

18 А учениците на Йоан му известиха за всичко това.

And John’s disciples brought him word of all these things.

19 И Йоан повика двама от учениците си и ги прати при Господа да попитат: Ти ли си Онзи, Който трябва да дойде, или друг да очакваме?

And John summoned to him a certain two of his disciples and sent them to the Lord, saying, Are You He Who is to come, or shall we look for another?

20 И като дойдоха при Него, човеците казаха: Йоан Кръстител ни прати при Тебе да попитаме: Ти ли си Онзи, Който трябва да дойде, или друг да очакваме?

So the men came to Jesus and said, John the Baptist sent us to You to ask, Are You the One Who is to come, or shall we look for another?

21 И в същия час Той изцели мнозина от болести и язви, и зли духове, и на мнозина слепи даде зрение.

In that very hour Jesus was healing many of sicknesses and distressing bodily plagues and evil spirits, and to many who were blind He gave '> a free, gracious, joy-giving gift of] sight.

22 Т огава Той им отговори: Идете и разкажете на Йоан това, което видяхте и чухте, че слепи проглеждат, куци прохождат, прокажени се очистват и глухи прочуват; мъртви биват възкресени и на сиромасите се проповядва благовестието.

So He replied to them, Go and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the good news (the Gospel) preached to them.

23 И блажен е онзи, който не се съблазни в Мене.

And blessed (happy— with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, apart from outward conditions—and to be envied) is he who takes no offense in Me and who is not hurt or resentful or annoyed or repelled or made to stumble '> whatever may occur].

24 А когато си отидоха изпратените от Йоан, Исус започна да говори на множествата за Йоан: Какво излязохте да видите в пустинята? Тръстика ли, от вятър разлюлявана?

And the messengers of John having departed, Jesus began to speak to the crowds about John: What did you go out into the desert to gaze on? A reed shaken and swayed by the wind?

25 Н о какво излязохте да видите? Човек, облечен в меки дрехи? Ето, великолепно облечените и онези, които живеят разкошно, са в царските дворци.

Then what did you go out to see? A man dressed up in soft garments? Behold, those who wear fine apparel and live in luxury are in the courts or palaces of kings.

26 Н о какво излязохте да видите? Пророк ли? Да, казвам ви, и повече от пророк.

What then did you go out to see? A prophet (a forthteller)? Yes, I tell you, and far more than a prophet.

27 Т ова е онзи, за когото е писано: "Ето, Аз изпращам вестителя Си пред Твоето лице, който ще приготви пътя Ми пред Тебе."

This is the one of whom it is written, Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, who shall make ready Your way before You.

28 К азвам ви: Между родените от жена няма по-голям от Йоан; обаче по-малкият в Божието царство е по-голям от него.

I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; but he that is inferior in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

29 ( И целият народ и бирниците, като чуха това, признаха Божията правда, като бяха се кръстили с Йоановото кръщение.

And all the people who heard Him, even the tax collectors, acknowledged the justice of God '> calling them to repentance and in pronouncing future wrath on the impenitent], being baptized with the baptism of John.

30 А фарисеите и законниците отхвърлиха Божията воля спрямо себе си, като не бяха се кръстили от него.)

But the Pharisees and the lawyers annulled and rejected and brought to nothing God’s purpose concerning themselves, by not being baptized by him.

31 А на кого да уподобя човеците от това поколение? И на какво приличат?

So to what shall I compare the men of this generation? And what are they like?

32 Т е приличат на деца, които седят на пазара, които викат едно на друго и казват: Свирихме ви и не играхте, жалеехме и не плакахте.

They are like little children sitting in the marketplace, calling to one another and saying, We piped to you, and you did not dance; we sang dirges and wailed, and you did not weep.

33 З ащото Йоан Кръстител дойде, който нито хляб яде, нито вино пие, и казвате: Бяс има.

For John the Baptist has come neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, He has a demon.

34 Д ойде Човешкият Син, Който яде и пие, и казвате: Ето, човек лаком и винопиец, приятел на бирниците и на грешниците.

The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, Behold, a Man Who is a glutton and a wine drinker, a friend of tax collectors and notorious sinners.

35 Н о пак мъдростта се оправдава от всичките си чеда. Исус Христос и грешницата

Yet wisdom is vindicated ( shown to be true and divine) by all her children '> by their life, character, and deeds].

36 И един от фарисеите Го покани да яде с него; и Той влезе в къщата на фарисея и седна на трапезата.

One of the Pharisees asked Jesus to dine with him, and He went into the Pharisee’s house and reclined at table.

37 И , ето, една жена от града, която беше грешница, като разбра, че Исус седи на трапезата в къщата на фарисея, донесе алабастрен съд с миро.

And behold, a woman of the town who was an especially wicked sinner, when she learned that He was reclining at table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of ointment (perfume).

38 И като застана отзад при нозете Му и плачеше, започна да облива нозете Му със сълзи и да ги изтрива с косата си, целуваше нозете Му и ги мажеше с мирото.

And standing behind Him at His feet weeping, she began to wet His feet with tears; and she wiped them with the hair of her head and kissed His feet and anointed them with the ointment (perfume).

39 А като видя това фарисеят, който Го бе поканил, си каза: Този, ако беше пророк, щеше да знае коя и каква е жената, която се допира до Него, че е грешница.

Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw it, he said to himself, If this Man were a prophet, He would surely know who and what sort of woman this is who is touching Him—for she is a notorious sinner (a social outcast, devoted to sin).

40 А Исус се обърна към него с думите: Симоне, имам нещо да ти кажа. А той отговори: Учителю, кажи.

And Jesus, replying, said to him, Simon, I have something to say to you. And he answered, Teacher, say it.

41 Н якой си лихвар имаше двама длъжника; единият дължеше петстотин динария, а другият - петдесет.

A certain lender of money had two debtors: one owed him five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.

42 И понеже нямаха с какво да му платят, той опрости дълга и на двамата. И така, кой от тях ще го обикне повече?

When they had no means of paying, he freely forgave them both. Now which of them will love him more?

43 С имон отговори: Мисля, че онзи, на когото е простил повече. А Той му каза: Правилно си отсъдил.

Simon answered, The one, I take it, for whom he forgave and cancelled more. And Jesus said to him, You have decided correctly.

44 И като се обърна към жената, каза на Симон: Виждаш ли тази жена? Влязох в къщата ти, но ти вода за нозете Ми не даде; а тя със сълзи обля нозете Ми и с косата си ги изтри.

Then turning toward the woman, He said to Simon, Do you see this woman? When I came into your house, you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has wet My feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.

45 Т и целувка не Ми даде за поздрав; а тя, откакто съм влязъл, не е престанала да целува нозете Ми.

You gave Me no kiss, but she from the moment I came in has not ceased '> intermittently] to kiss My feet tenderly and caressingly.

46 Т и с елей не помаза главата Ми; а тя с миро помазва нозете Ми.

You did not anoint My head with oil, but she has anointed My feet with perfume.

47 З атова ти казвам: Прощават ѝ се многото грехове (защото тя обикна много), а на когото малко се прощава, той малко обича.

Therefore I tell you, her sins, many, are forgiven her—because she has loved much. But he who is forgiven little loves little.

48 И ѝ каза: Прощават ти се греховете.

And He said to her, Your sins are forgiven!

49 И тези, които седяха с Него на трапезата, започнаха да се питат един друг: Кой е Този, Който и греховете прощава?

Then those who were at table with Him began to say among themselves, Who is this Who even forgives sins?

50 И сус каза на жената: Твоята вяра те спаси; иди си с мир.

But Jesus said to the woman, Your faith has saved you; go (enter) into peace '> in freedom from all the distresses that are experienced as the result of sin].
