1 К огда Он окончил все слова Свои к слушавшему народу, то вошел в Капернаум.

After Jesus had finished all that He had to say in the hearing of the people, He entered Capernaum.

2 У одного сотника слуга, которым он дорожил, был болен при смерти.

Now a centurion had a bond servant who was held in honor and highly valued by him, who was sick and at the point of death.

3 У слышав об Иисусе, он послал к Нему Иудейских старейшин просить Его, чтобы пришел исцелить слугу его.

And when the centurion heard of Jesus, he sent some Jewish elders to Him, requesting Him to come and make his bond servant well.

4 И они, придя к Иисусу, просили Его убедительно, говоря: он достоин, чтобы Ты сделал для него это,

And when they reached Jesus, they begged Him earnestly, saying, He is worthy that You should do this for him,

5 и бо он любит народ наш и построил нам синагогу.

For he loves our nation and he built us our synagogue.

6 И исус пошел с ними. И когда Он недалеко уже был от дома, сотник прислал к Нему друзей сказать Ему: не трудись, Господи! ибо я недостоин, чтобы Ты вошел под кров мой;

And Jesus went with them. But when He was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to Him, saying, Lord, do not trouble, for I am not sufficiently worthy to have You come under my roof;

7 п отому и себя самого не почел я достойным придти к Тебе; но скажи слово, и выздоровеет слуга мой.

Neither did I consider myself worthy to come to You. But speak a word, and my servant boy will be healed.

8 И бо я и подвластный человек, но, имея у себя в подчинении воинов, говорю одному: пойди, и идет; и другому: приди, и приходит; и слуге моему: сделай то, и делает.

For I also am a man subject to authority, with soldiers under me. And I say to one, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my bond servant, Do this, and he does it.

9 У слышав сие, Иисус удивился ему и, обратившись, сказал идущему за Ним народу: сказываю вам, что и в Израиле не нашел Я такой веры.

Now when Jesus heard this, He marveled at him, and He turned and said to the crowd that followed Him, I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such great faith.

10 П осланные, возвратившись в дом, нашли больного слугу выздоровевшим.

And when the messengers who had been sent returned to the house, they found the bond servant who had been ill quite well again.

11 П осле сего Иисус пошел в город, называемый Наин; и с Ним шли многие из учеников Его и множество народа.

Soon afterward, Jesus went to a town called Nain, and His disciples and a great throng accompanied Him.

12 К огда же Он приблизился к городским воротам, тут выносили умершего, единственного сына у матери, а она была вдова; и много народа шло с нею из города.

as He drew near the gate of the town, behold, a man who had died was being carried out—the only son of his mother, and she was a widow; and a large gathering from the town was accompanying her.

13 У видев ее, Господь сжалился над нею и сказал ей: не плачь.

And when the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, Do not weep.

14 И , подойдя, прикоснулся к одру; несшие остановились, и Он сказал: юноша! тебе говорю, встань!

And He went forward and touched the funeral bier, and the pallbearers stood still. And He said, Young man, I say to you, arise '> from death]!

15 М ертвый, поднявшись, сел и стал говорить; и отдал его матери его.

And the man dead sat up and began to speak. And gave him to his mother.

16 И всех объял страх, и славили Бога, говоря: великий пророк восстал между нами, и Бог посетил народ Свой.

Profound and reverent fear seized them all, and they began to recognize God and praise and give thanks, saying, A great Prophet has appeared among us! And God has visited His people!

17 Т акое мнение о Нём распространилось по всей Иудее и по всей окрестности.

And this report concerning spread through the whole of Judea and all the country round about.

18 И возвестили Иоанну ученики его о всём том.

And John’s disciples brought him word of all these things.

19 И оанн, призвав двоих из учеников своих, послал к Иисусу спросить: Ты ли Тот, Который должен придти, или ожидать нам другого?

And John summoned to him a certain two of his disciples and sent them to the Lord, saying, Are You He Who is to come, or shall we look for another?

20 О ни, придя к, сказали: Иоанн Креститель послал нас к Тебе спросить: Ты ли Тот, Которому должно придти, или другого ожидать нам?

So the men came to Jesus and said, John the Baptist sent us to You to ask, Are You the One Who is to come, or shall we look for another?

21 А в это время Он многих исцелил от болезней и недугов и от злых духов, и многим слепым даровал зрение.

In that very hour Jesus was healing many of sicknesses and distressing bodily plagues and evil spirits, and to many who were blind He gave '> a free, gracious, joy-giving gift of] sight.

22 И сказал им Иисус в ответ: пойдите, скажите Иоанну, что вы видели и слышали: слепые прозревают, хромые ходят, прокаженные очищаются, глухие слышат, мертвые воскресают, нищие благовествуют;

So He replied to them, Go and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the good news (the Gospel) preached to them.

23 и блажен, кто не соблазнится о Мне!

And blessed (happy— with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, apart from outward conditions—and to be envied) is he who takes no offense in Me and who is not hurt or resentful or annoyed or repelled or made to stumble '> whatever may occur].

24 П о отшествии же посланных Иоанном, начал говорить к народу об Иоанне: что смотреть ходили вы в пустыню? трость ли, ветром колеблемую?

And the messengers of John having departed, Jesus began to speak to the crowds about John: What did you go out into the desert to gaze on? A reed shaken and swayed by the wind?

25 Ч то же смотреть ходили вы? человека ли, одетого в мягкие одежды? Но одевающиеся пышно и роскошно живущие находятся при дворах царских.

Then what did you go out to see? A man dressed up in soft garments? Behold, those who wear fine apparel and live in luxury are in the courts or palaces of kings.

26 Ч то же смотреть ходили вы? пророка ли? Да, говорю вам, и больше пророка.

What then did you go out to see? A prophet (a forthteller)? Yes, I tell you, and far more than a prophet.

27 С ей есть, о котором написано: вот, Я посылаю Ангела Моего пред лицем Твоим, который приготовит путь Твой пред Тобою.

This is the one of whom it is written, Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, who shall make ready Your way before You.

28 И бо говорю вам: из рожденных женами нет ни одного пророка больше Иоанна Крестителя; но меньший в Царствии Божием больше его.

I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; but he that is inferior in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

29 И весь народ, слушавший, и мытари воздали славу Богу, крестившись крещением Иоанновым;

And all the people who heard Him, even the tax collectors, acknowledged the justice of God '> calling them to repentance and in pronouncing future wrath on the impenitent], being baptized with the baptism of John.

30 а фарисеи и законники отвергли волю Божию о себе, не крестившись от него.

But the Pharisees and the lawyers annulled and rejected and brought to nothing God’s purpose concerning themselves, by not being baptized by him.

31 Т огда Господь сказал: с кем сравню людей рода сего? и кому они подобны?

So to what shall I compare the men of this generation? And what are they like?

32 О ни подобны детям, которые сидят на улице, кличут друг друга и говорят: мы играли вам на свирели, и вы не плясали; мы пели вам плачевные песни, и вы не плакали.

They are like little children sitting in the marketplace, calling to one another and saying, We piped to you, and you did not dance; we sang dirges and wailed, and you did not weep.

33 И бо пришел Иоанн Креститель: ни хлеба не ест, ни вина не пьет; и говорите: в нем бес.

For John the Baptist has come neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, He has a demon.

34 П ришел Сын Человеческий: ест и пьет; и говорите: вот человек, который любит есть и пить вино, друг мытарям и грешникам.

The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, Behold, a Man Who is a glutton and a wine drinker, a friend of tax collectors and notorious sinners.

35 И оправдана премудрость всеми чадами ее.

Yet wisdom is vindicated ( shown to be true and divine) by all her children '> by their life, character, and deeds].

36 Н екто из фарисеев просил Его вкусить с ним пищи; и Он, войдя в дом фарисея, возлег.

One of the Pharisees asked Jesus to dine with him, and He went into the Pharisee’s house and reclined at table.

37 И вот, женщина того города, которая была грешница, узнав, что Он возлежит в доме фарисея, принесла алавастровый сосуд с миром

And behold, a woman of the town who was an especially wicked sinner, when she learned that He was reclining at table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of ointment (perfume).

38 и , став позади у ног Его и плача, начала обливать ноги Его слезами и отирать волосами головы своей, и целовала ноги Его, и мазала миром.

And standing behind Him at His feet weeping, she began to wet His feet with tears; and she wiped them with the hair of her head and kissed His feet and anointed them with the ointment (perfume).

39 В идя это, фарисей, пригласивший Его, сказал сам в себе: если бы Он был пророк, то знал бы, кто и какая женщина прикасается к Нему, ибо она грешница.

Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw it, he said to himself, If this Man were a prophet, He would surely know who and what sort of woman this is who is touching Him—for she is a notorious sinner (a social outcast, devoted to sin).

40 О братившись к нему, Иисус сказал: Симон! Я имею нечто сказать тебе. Он говорит: скажи, Учитель.

And Jesus, replying, said to him, Simon, I have something to say to you. And he answered, Teacher, say it.

41 И исус сказал: у одного заимодавца было два должника: один должен был пятьсот динариев, а другой пятьдесят,

A certain lender of money had two debtors: one owed him five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.

42 н о как они не имели чем заплатить, он простил обоим. Скажи же, который из них более возлюбит его?

When they had no means of paying, he freely forgave them both. Now which of them will love him more?

43 С имон отвечал: думаю, тот, которому более простил. Он сказал ему: правильно ты рассудил.

Simon answered, The one, I take it, for whom he forgave and cancelled more. And Jesus said to him, You have decided correctly.

44 И , обратившись к женщине, сказал Симону: видишь ли ты эту женщину? Я пришел в дом твой, и ты воды Мне на ноги не дал, а она слезами облила Мне ноги и волосами головы своей отёрла;

Then turning toward the woman, He said to Simon, Do you see this woman? When I came into your house, you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has wet My feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.

45 т ы целования Мне не дал, а она, с тех пор как Я пришел, не перестает целовать у Меня ноги;

You gave Me no kiss, but she from the moment I came in has not ceased '> intermittently] to kiss My feet tenderly and caressingly.

46 т ы головы Мне маслом не помазал, а она миром помазала Мне ноги.

You did not anoint My head with oil, but she has anointed My feet with perfume.

47 А потому сказываю тебе: прощаются грехи её многие за то, что она возлюбила много, а кому мало прощается, тот мало любит.

Therefore I tell you, her sins, many, are forgiven her—because she has loved much. But he who is forgiven little loves little.

48 Е й же сказал: прощаются тебе грехи.

And He said to her, Your sins are forgiven!

49 И возлежавшие с Ним начали говорить про себя: кто это, что и грехи прощает?

Then those who were at table with Him began to say among themselves, Who is this Who even forgives sins?

50 О н же сказал женщине: вера твоя спасла тебя, иди с миром.

But Jesus said to the woman, Your faith has saved you; go (enter) into peace '> in freedom from all the distresses that are experienced as the result of sin].
