1 И поднялось все множество их, и повели Его к Пилату,

Then the whole assembly of them got up and conducted before Pilate.

2 и начали обвинять Его, говоря: мы нашли, что Он развращает народ наш и запрещает давать подать кесарю, называя Себя Христом Царем.

And they began to accuse Him, asserting, We found this Man perverting (misleading, corrupting, and turning away) our nation and forbidding to pay tribute to Caesar, saying that He Himself is Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One), a King!

3 П илат спросил Его: Ты Царь Иудейский? Он сказал ему в ответ: ты говоришь.

So Pilate asked Him, Are You the King of the Jews? And He answered him, '> It is just as] you say.

4 П илат сказал первосвященникам и народу: я не нахожу никакой вины в этом человеке.

And Pilate said to the chief priests and the throngs, I find no guilt or crime in this Man.

5 Н о они настаивали, говоря, что Он возмущает народ, уча по всей Иудее, начиная от Галилеи до сего места.

But they were urgent and emphatic, saying, He stirs up and excites the people, teaching throughout all Judea—from Galilee, where He began, even to this place.

6 П илат, услышав о Галилее, спросил: разве Он Галилеянин?

Upon hearing this, Pilate asked whether the Man was a Galilean.

7 И , узнав, что Он из области Иродовой, послал Его к Ироду, который в эти дни был также в Иерусалиме.

And when he found out that He belonged to Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent Him up to Herod, who was also in Jerusalem in those days.

8 И род, увидев Иисуса, очень обрадовался, ибо давно желал видеть Его, потому что много слышал о Нем, и надеялся увидеть от Него какое-нибудь чудо,

Now when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceedingly glad, for he had eagerly desired to see Him for a long time because of what he had heard concerning Him, and he was hoping to witness some sign (some striking evidence or spectacular performance) done by Him.

9 и предлагал Ему многие вопросы, но Он ничего не отвечал ему.

So he asked Him many questions, but He made no reply.

10 П ервосвященники же и книжники стояли и усильно обвиняли Его.

Meanwhile, the chief priests and the scribes stood by, continuing vehemently and violently to accuse Him.

11 Н о Ирод со своими воинами, уничижив Его и насмеявшись над Ним, одел Его в светлую одежду и отослал обратно к Пилату.

And Herod, with his soldiers, treated Him with contempt and scoffed at and ridiculed Him; then, dressing Him up in bright and gorgeous apparel, he sent Him back to Pilate.

12 И сделались в тот день Пилат и Ирод друзьями между собою, ибо прежде были во вражде друг с другом.

And that very day Herod and Pilate became friends with each other— they had been at enmity before this.

13 П илат же, созвав первосвященников и начальников и народ,

Pilate then called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people,

14 с казал им: вы привели ко мне человека сего, как развращающего народ; и вот, я при вас исследовал и не нашел человека сего виновным ни в чем том, в чем вы обвиняете Его;

And said to them, You brought this Man before me as One Who was perverting and misleading and turning away and corrupting the people; and behold, after examining Him before you, I have not found any offense (crime or guilt) in this Man in regard to your accusations against Him;

15 и Ирод также, ибо я посылал Его к нему; и ничего не найдено в Нем достойного смерти;

No, nor indeed did Herod, for he sent Him back to us; behold, He has done nothing deserving of death.

16 и так, наказав Его, отпущу.

I will therefore chastise Him and deliver Him amended (reformed, taught His lesson) and release Him.

17 А ему и нужно было для праздника отпустить им одного.

For it was necessary for him to release to them one prisoner at the Feast.

18 Н о весь народ стал кричать: смерть Ему! а отпусти нам Варавву.

But they all together raised a deep cry, saying, Away with this Man! Release to us Barabbas!

19 В аравва был посажен в темницу за произведенное в городе возмущение и убийство.

He was a man who had been thrown into prison for raising a riot in the city, and for murder.

20 П илат снова возвысил голос, желая отпустить Иисуса.

Once more Pilate called to them, wishing to release Jesus;

21 Н о они кричали: распни, распни Его!

But they kept shouting out, Crucify, crucify Him!

22 О н в третий раз сказал им: какое же зло сделал Он? я ничего достойного смерти не нашел в Нем; итак, наказав Его, отпущу.

A third time he said to them, Why? What wrong has He done? I have found in Him nothing deserving of death; I will therefore chastise Him '> in order to teach Him better] and release Him.

23 Н о они продолжали с великим криком требовать, чтобы Он был распят; и превозмог крик их и первосвященников.

But they were insistent and urgent, demanding with loud cries that He should be crucified. And their voices prevailed (accomplished their purpose).

24 И Пилат решил быть по прошению их,

And Pilate gave sentence, that what they asked should be done.

25 и отпустил им посаженного за возмущение и убийство в темницу, которого они просили; а Иисуса предал в их волю.

So he released the man who had been thrown into prison for riot and murder, for whom they continued to ask, but Jesus he delivered up to be done with as they willed.

26 И когда повели Его, то, захватив некоего Симона Киринеянина, шедшего с поля, возложили на него крест, чтобы нес за Иисусом.

And as they led Him away, they seized one Simon of Cyrene, who was coming in from the country, and laid on him the cross and made him carry it behind Jesus.

27 И шло за Ним великое множество народа и женщин, которые плакали и рыдали о Нем.

And there accompanied a great multitude of the people, women who bewailed and lamented Him.

28 И исус же, обратившись к ним, сказал: дщери Иерусалимские! не плачьте обо Мне, но плачьте о себе и о детях ваших,

But Jesus, turning toward them, said, Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.

29 и бо приходят дни, в которые скажут: блаженны неплодные, и утробы неродившие, и сосцы непитавшие!

For behold, the days are coming during which they will say, Blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) are the barren, and the wombs that have not borne, and the breasts that have never nursed!

30 т огда начнут говорить горам: падите на нас! и холмам: покройте нас!

Then they will begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us! and to the hills, Cover (conceal, hide) us!

31 И бо если с зеленеющим деревом это делают, то с сухим что будет?

For if they do these things when the timber is green, what will happen when it is dry?

32 В ели с Ним на смерть и двух злодеев.

Two others also, who were criminals, were led away to be executed with Him.

33 И когда пришли на место, называемое Лобное, там распяли Его и злодеев, одного по правую, а другого по левую сторону.

And when they came to the place which is called The Skull, there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the right and one on the left.

34 И исус же говорил: Отче! прости им, ибо не знают, что делают. И делили одежды Его, бросая жребий.

And Jesus prayed, Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. And they divided His garments and distributed them by casting lots for them.

35 И стоял народ и смотрел. Насмехались же вместе с ними и начальники, говоря: других спасал; пусть спасет Себя Самого, если Он Христос, избранный Божий.

Now the people stood by '> calmly and leisurely] watching; but the rulers scoffed and sneered ( turned up their noses) at Him, saying, He rescued others '> from death]; let Him now rescue Himself, if He is the Christ (the Messiah) of God, His Chosen One!

36 Т акже и воины ругались над Ним, подходя и поднося Ему уксус

The soldiers also ridiculed and made sport of Him, coming up and offering Him vinegar (a sour wine mixed with water)

37 и говоря: если Ты Царь Иудейский, спаси Себя Самого.

And saying, If you are the King of the Jews, save (rescue) Yourself '> from death].

38 И была над Ним надпись, написанная словами греческими, римскими и еврейскими: Сей есть Царь Иудейский.

For there was also an inscription above Him in letters of Greek and Latin and Hebrew: This is the King of the Jews.

39 О дин из повешенных злодеев злословил Его и говорил: если Ты Христос, спаси Себя и нас.

One of the criminals who was suspended kept up a railing at Him, saying, Are You not the Christ (the Messiah)? Rescue Yourself and us '> from death]!

40 Д ругой же, напротив, унимал его и говорил: или ты не боишься Бога, когда и сам осужден на то же?

But the other one reproved him, saying, Do you not even fear God, seeing you yourself are under the same sentence of condemnation and suffering the same penalty?

41 и мы справедливо, потому что достойное по делам нашим приняли, а Он ничего худого не сделал.

And we indeed suffer it justly, receiving the due reward of our actions; but this Man has done nothing out of the way '> strange or eccentric or perverse or unreasonable].

42 И сказал Иисусу: помяни меня, Господи, когда приидешь в Царствие Твое!

Then he said to Jesus, Lord, remember me when You come in Your kingly glory!

43 И сказал ему Иисус: истинно говорю тебе, ныне же будешь со Мною в раю.

And He answered him, Truly I tell you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.

44 Б ыло же около шестого часа дня, и сделалась тьма по всей земле до часа девятого:

It was now about the sixth hour (midday), and darkness enveloped the whole land and earth until the ninth hour (about three o’clock in the afternoon),

45 и померкло солнце, и завеса в храме раздралась по средине.

While the sun’s light faded or was darkened; and the curtain of the temple was torn in two.

46 И исус, возгласив громким голосом, сказал: Отче! в руки Твои предаю дух Мой. И, сие сказав, испустил дух.

And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit! And with these words, He expired.

47 С отник же, видев происходившее, прославил Бога и сказал: истинно человек этот был праведник.

Now the centurion, having seen what had taken place, recognized God and thanked and praised Him, and said, Indeed, without question, this Man was upright (just and innocent)!

48 И весь народ, сшедшийся на сие зрелище, видя происходившее, возвращался, бия себя в грудь.

And all the throngs that had gathered to see this spectacle, when they saw what had taken place, returned to their homes, beating their breasts.

49 В се же, знавшие Его, и женщины, следовавшие за Ним из Галилеи, стояли вдали и смотрели на это.

And all the acquaintances of and the women who had followed Him from Galilee stood at a distance and watched these things.

50 Т огда некто, именем Иосиф, член совета, человек добрый и правдивый,

Now notice, there was a man named Joseph from the Jewish town of Arimathea. He was a member of the council (the Sanhedrin), and a good (upright, advantageous) man, and righteous (in right standing with God and man),

51 н е участвовавший в совете и в деле их; из Аримафеи, города Иудейского, ожидавший также Царствия Божия,

Who had not agreed with or assented to the purpose and action of the others; and he was expecting and waiting for the kingdom of God.

52 п ришел к Пилату и просил тела Иисусова;

This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus.

53 и , сняв его, обвил плащаницею и положил его в гробе, высеченном, где еще никто не был положен.

Then he took it down and rolled it up in a linen cloth for swathing dead bodies and laid Him in a rock-hewn tomb, where no one had ever yet been laid.

54 Д ень тот был пятница, и наступала суббота.

It was the day of Preparation, and the Sabbath was dawning (approaching).

55 П оследовали также и женщины, пришедшие с Иисусом из Галилеи, и смотрели гроб, и как полагалось тело Его;

The women who had come with from Galilee followed closely and saw the tomb and how His body was laid.

56 в озвратившись же, приготовили благовония и масти; и в субботу остались в покое по заповеди.

Then they went back and made ready spices and ointments (perfumes). On the Sabbath day they rested in accordance with the commandment.
