1 Т огава цялото множество техни хора стана и Го заведе при Пилата.

Then the whole assembly of them got up and conducted before Pilate.

2 О И Пилат пак им извика, като желаеше да пусне Исуса.

And they began to accuse Him, asserting, We found this Man perverting (misleading, corrupting, and turning away) our nation and forbidding to pay tribute to Caesar, saying that He Himself is Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One), a King!

3 А Пилат Го попита, думайки: Ти ли си Юдейският цар? А Той в отговор му каза: Ти право казваш.

So Pilate asked Him, Are You the King of the Jews? And He answered him, '> It is just as] you say.

4 И Пилат рече на главните свещеници и на народа: Аз не намирам никаква вина в Тоя човек.

And Pilate said to the chief priests and the throngs, I find no guilt or crime in this Man.

5 А те по-настойчиво казваха: Той вълнува людете, понеже поучава по цяла Юдея, като е почнал от Галилея и е следвал даже до тук.

But they were urgent and emphatic, saying, He stirs up and excites the people, teaching throughout all Judea—from Galilee, where He began, even to this place.

6 А Пилат, като чу това, попита дали е галилеянин човекът.

Upon hearing this, Pilate asked whether the Man was a Galilean.

7 И като узна, че е от Иродовата област, изпрати Го до Ирода, който и той беше през тия дни в Ерусалим.

And when he found out that He belonged to Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent Him up to Herod, who was also in Jerusalem in those days.

8 А Ирод, като видя Исуса, много се зарадва, защото отдавна желаеше да Го види, понеже бе слушал за Него; и надяваше се да види някое знамение от Него.

Now when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceedingly glad, for he had eagerly desired to see Him for a long time because of what he had heard concerning Him, and he was hoping to witness some sign (some striking evidence or spectacular performance) done by Him.

9 И запитваше Го с много думи, но Той нищо не му отговори.

So he asked Him many questions, but He made no reply.

10 А главните свещеници и книжниците стояха и силно Го обвиняваха.

Meanwhile, the chief priests and the scribes stood by, continuing vehemently and violently to accuse Him.

11 Н о Ирод с войниците си, презирайки Го, след като Му се поруга, облече Го във великолепна дреха, и Го прати обратно на Пилата.

And Herod, with his soldiers, treated Him with contempt and scoffed at and ridiculed Him; then, dressing Him up in bright and gorgeous apparel, he sent Him back to Pilate.

12 В същия ден Ирод и Пилат се сприятелиха помежду си, защото преди това враждуваха един против друг.

And that very day Herod and Pilate became friends with each other— they had been at enmity before this.

13 Т огава Пилат свика главните свещеници, началници и народа, и рече им:

Pilate then called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people,

14 Д оведохте ми Тоя човек като един, който развращава людете; но, ето, аз Го разпитах пред вас, и не намерих в Тоя човек никаква вина относно онова, за което Го обвинявате.

And said to them, You brought this Man before me as One Who was perverting and misleading and turning away and corrupting the people; and behold, after examining Him before you, I have not found any offense (crime or guilt) in this Man in regard to your accusations against Him;

15 Н ито пък Ирод е намерил; защото Го е изпратил обратно до нас; и ето, Той не е сторил нищо, което заслужава смъртно наказание.

No, nor indeed did Herod, for he sent Him back to us; behold, He has done nothing deserving of death.

16 И тъй, като Го накажа, ще Го пусна.

I will therefore chastise Him and deliver Him amended (reformed, taught His lesson) and release Him.

17 А той се задължаваше да им пуща на всеки празник по един затворник].

For it was necessary for him to release to them one prisoner at the Feast.

18 Н о те всички едногласно изкрещяха, казвайки: Махни Този и пусни ни Варава.

But they all together raised a deep cry, saying, Away with this Man! Release to us Barabbas!

19 ( който, за някаква размирица, станала в града, и за убийство, бе хвърлен в тъмница).

He was a man who had been thrown into prison for raising a riot in the city, and for murder.

20 И Пилат пак им извика, като желаеше да пусне Исуса.

Once more Pilate called to them, wishing to release Jesus;

21 А те крещяха, казвайки: Разпни Го! Разпни Го!

But they kept shouting out, Crucify, crucify Him!

22 А той трети път им каза: Че какво зло е сторил Той? Аз не намирам в Него нищо, за което да заслужава смърт; и тъй, като Го накажа, ще Го пусна.

A third time he said to them, Why? What wrong has He done? I have found in Him nothing deserving of death; I will therefore chastise Him '> in order to teach Him better] and release Him.

23 Н о те настояваха със силни гласове, искайки да бъде разпнат; и техните гласове надделяха.

But they were insistent and urgent, demanding with loud cries that He should be crucified. And their voices prevailed (accomplished their purpose).

24 И Пилат реши да изпълни искането им:

And Pilate gave sentence, that what they asked should be done.

25 П усна онзи, когото искаха, който за размирица и убийство бе хвърлен в тъмница; а Исуса предаде на волята им.

So he released the man who had been thrown into prison for riot and murder, for whom they continued to ask, but Jesus he delivered up to be done with as they willed.

26 И когато Го поведоха, хванаха някого си Симона киринеец, който се връщаше от нива, и сложиха на него кръста, за да го носи подир Исуса.

And as they led Him away, they seized one Simon of Cyrene, who was coming in from the country, and laid on him the cross and made him carry it behind Jesus.

27 И след Него вървяха голямо множество от народ и от жени, които плачеха за Него.

And there accompanied a great multitude of the people, women who bewailed and lamented Him.

28 А Исус се обърна към тях и рече: Дъщери ерусалимски, недейте плака за Мене, но плачете за себе си и за чадата си;

But Jesus, turning toward them, said, Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.

29 з ащото, ето идат дни, когато ще рекат: Блажени неплодните, и утробите, които не са раждали, и съсците, които не са кърмили.

For behold, the days are coming during which they will say, Blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) are the barren, and the wombs that have not borne, and the breasts that have never nursed!

30 Т огава ще почнат да казват на планините: Паднете върху нас, и на хълмовете: Покрийте ни.

Then they will begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us! and to the hills, Cover (conceal, hide) us!

31 З ащото, ако правят това с суровото дърво, какво ще правят със сухото?

For if they do these things when the timber is green, what will happen when it is dry?

32 И с Него караха и други двама, които бяха злодейци, за да ги погубят.

Two others also, who were criminals, were led away to be executed with Him.

33 И когато стигнаха на мястото, наречено Лобно, там разпнаха Него и злодейците, единият отдясно Му, а другият отляво.

And when they came to the place which is called The Skull, there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the right and one on the left.

34 А Исус каза: Отче, прости им, защото не знаят какво правят. И като разделиха дрехите Му, хвърлиха жребие за тях.

And Jesus prayed, Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. And they divided His garments and distributed them by casting lots for them.

35 И людете стояха та гледаха. Още и началниците Го ругаеха, казвайки: Други е избавил; нека избави Себе Си, ако Този е Божият Христос, Неговият Избраник.

Now the people stood by '> calmly and leisurely] watching; but the rulers scoffed and sneered ( turned up their noses) at Him, saying, He rescued others '> from death]; let Him now rescue Himself, if He is the Christ (the Messiah) of God, His Chosen One!

36 Т оже и войниците Му се подиграваха като се приближаваха и Му поднасяха оцет, и казваха:

The soldiers also ridiculed and made sport of Him, coming up and offering Him vinegar (a sour wine mixed with water)

37 А ко си Юдейският цар, избави Себе Си.

And saying, If you are the King of the Jews, save (rescue) Yourself '> from death].

38 А над него имаше и надпис: Тоя е Юдейският Цар.

For there was also an inscription above Him in letters of Greek and Latin and Hebrew: This is the King of the Jews.

39 И един от обесените злодейци Го хулеше, казвайки: Нали си Ти Христос? Избави Себе Си и нас!

One of the criminals who was suspended kept up a railing at Him, saying, Are You not the Christ (the Messiah)? Rescue Yourself and us '> from death]!

40 А другият в отговор го смъмра, като каза: Ни от Бога ли се не боиш ти, който си под същото осъждение?

But the other one reproved him, saying, Do you not even fear God, seeing you yourself are under the same sentence of condemnation and suffering the same penalty?

41 И ние справедливо сме осъдени, защото получаваме заслуженото от това, което сме сторили; а Този не е сторил нищо лошо.

And we indeed suffer it justly, receiving the due reward of our actions; but this Man has done nothing out of the way '> strange or eccentric or perverse or unreasonable].

42 И каза: Исусе, спомни си за мене, когато дойдеш в Царството Си.

Then he said to Jesus, Lord, remember me when You come in Your kingly glory!

43 А му рече: Истина ти казвам, днес ще бъдеш с Мене в рая.

And He answered him, Truly I tell you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.

44 А беше вече около шестият час, и тъмнина покриваше цялата земя до деветия час,

It was now about the sixth hour (midday), and darkness enveloped the whole land and earth until the ninth hour (about three o’clock in the afternoon),

45 к ато потъмня слънцето; и завесата на храма се раздра през средата.

While the sun’s light faded or was darkened; and the curtain of the temple was torn in two.

46 И Исус извика със силен глас и рече: Отче, в Твоите ръце предавам духа Си. И това като рече, издъхна.

And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit! And with these words, He expired.

47 И стотникът като видя станалото, прослави Бога, като каза: Наистина този човек бе праведен.

Now the centurion, having seen what had taken place, recognized God and thanked and praised Him, and said, Indeed, without question, this Man was upright (just and innocent)!

48 А всичките множества, надошли на това зрелище, като виждаха какво стана, връщаха се биещи се в гърди.

And all the throngs that had gathered to see this spectacle, when they saw what had taken place, returned to their homes, beating their breasts.

49 А всичките негови познайници и жените, които бяха дошли подир Него от Галилея, стояха надалеч и гледаха това.

And all the acquaintances of and the women who had followed Him from Galilee stood at a distance and watched these things.

50 И ето, един човек, на име Иосиф, който беше съветник, човек добър и праведен,

Now notice, there was a man named Joseph from the Jewish town of Arimathea. He was a member of the council (the Sanhedrin), and a good (upright, advantageous) man, and righteous (in right standing with God and man),

51 к ойто не беше се съгласил с намерението и делото им, _

Who had not agreed with or assented to the purpose and action of the others; and he was expecting and waiting for the kingdom of God.

52 т ой отиде при Пилата и поиска Исусовото тяло.

This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus.

53 И като го сне, обви го с плащаница, и положи го в гроб, изсечен в скала, гдето никой не бе още полаган.

Then he took it down and rolled it up in a linen cloth for swathing dead bodies and laid Him in a rock-hewn tomb, where no one had ever yet been laid.

54 И беше приготвителен ден, и съботата настъпваше.

It was the day of Preparation, and the Sabbath was dawning (approaching).

55 И жените, които бяха дошли с Него от Галилея, вървяха изподире и видяха гроба и как беше положено тялото Му.

The women who had come with from Galilee followed closely and saw the tomb and how His body was laid.

56 И като се върнаха, приготвиха аромати и миро; и в съботата си почиваха според заповедта.

Then they went back and made ready spices and ointments (perfumes). On the Sabbath day they rested in accordance with the commandment.
