1 С ине мой, ако приемеш думите ми, И запазиш заповедите ми при себе си,

My son, if you will receive my words and treasure up my commandments within you,

2 Т ака щото да приклониш ухото си към мъдростта. И да предадеш сърцето си към разума,

Making your ear attentive to skillful and godly Wisdom and inclining and directing your heart and mind to understanding;

3 А ко призовеш благоразумието, И издигнеш гласа си към разума,

Yes, if you cry out for insight and raise your voice for understanding,

4 А ко го потърсиш като сребро, И го подириш като скрити съкровища,

If you seek as for silver and search for skillful and godly Wisdom as for hidden treasures,

5 Т огава ще разбереш страха от Господа, И ще намериш познанието за Бога.

Then you will understand the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.

6 З ащото Господ дава мъдрост, из устата Му излизат знание и разум.

For the Lord gives skillful and godly Wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.

7 Т ой запазва истинска мъдрост за праведните, Щит е за ходещите в незлобие,

He hides away sound and godly Wisdom and stores it for the righteous (those who are upright and in right standing with Him); He is a shield to those who walk uprightly and in integrity,

8 З а да защитава пътищата на правосъдието, И да пази пътя на светиите Си.

That He may guard the paths of justice; yes, He preserves the way of His saints.

9 Т огава ще разбереш правда, правосъдие, Правдивост, да! и всеки добър път.

Then you will understand righteousness, justice, and fair dealing; yes, you will understand every good path.

10 З ащото мъдрост ще влезе в сърцето ти, Знание ще услажда душата ти,

For skillful and godly Wisdom shall enter into your heart, and knowledge shall be pleasant to you.

11 Р азсъждение ще те пази, Благоразумие ще те закриля,

Discretion shall watch over you, understanding shall keep you,

12 З а да те избави от пътя на злото. От човека, който говори опако, -

To deliver you from the way of evil and the evil men, from men who speak perverse things and are liars,

13 О т ония, които оставят пътищата на правотата, За да ходят по пътищата на тъмнината, -

Men who forsake the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness,

14 Н а които прави удоволствие да вършат зло, И се радват на извратеността на злите, -

Who rejoice to do evil and delight in the perverseness of evil,

15 Ч иито пътища са криви И пътеките им опаки, -

Who are crooked in their ways, wayward and devious in their paths.

16 з а да те избави от чужда жена, От чужда, която ласкае с думите си,

to deliver you from the alien woman, from the outsider with her flattering words,

17 ( Която е оставила другаря на младостта си, И е забравила завета на своя Бог,

Who forsakes the husband and guide of her youth and forgets the covenant of her God.

18 З ащото домът й води надолу към смъртта, И пътеките й към мъртвите;

For her house sinks down to death and her paths to the spirits.

19 Н икой от ония, които влизат при нея, не се връща, Нито стига пътищата на живота,) -

None who go to her return again, neither do they attain or regain the paths of life.

20 З а да ходиш ти в пътя на добрите, И да пазиш пътеките на праведните.

So may you walk in the way of good men, and keep to the paths of the righteous (the upright, in right standing with God).

21 З ащото правдивите ще населят земята, И непорочните ще останат в нея,

For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the men of integrity, blameless and complete, shall remain in it;

22 А нечестивите ще се отсекат от земята, И коварните ще се изкоренят от нея.

But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the treacherous shall be rooted out of it.
