1 ( По слав. 73). Асафово поучение. Боже, защо си ни отхвърлил за винаги? Защо дими гневът Ти против овците на пасбището Ти?

O God, why do You cast us off forever? Why does Your anger burn and smoke against the sheep of Your pasture?

2 С помни си за събранието Си, което си придобил от древността, Което си изкусил да бъде племето, което ще имаш за наследство; Спомни си и за хълма Сион, в който си обитавал.

remember Your congregation which You have acquired of old, which You have redeemed to be the tribe of Your heritage; remember Mount Zion, where You have dwelt.

3 О тправи стъпките Си горе към постоянните запустявания, Към всичкото зло, което неприятелят е извършил в светилището.

Direct Your feet to the perpetual ruins and desolations; the foe has devastated and desecrated everything in the sanctuary.

4 П ротивниците Ти реват всред местосъбранието Ти; Поставиха своите знамена за знамения.

In the midst of Your Holy Place Your enemies have roared; they set up their own emblems for signs.

5 П ознати станаха като човеци, които дигат брадва Върху гъсти дървета;

They seemed like men who lifted up axes upon a thicket of trees to make themselves a record.

6 И сега всичките му ваяни изделия Те събарят изведнъж с брадви и чукове.

And then all the carved wood of the Holy Place they broke down with hatchets and hammers.

7 П редадоха на огън светилището Ти; Оскверниха обиталището на името Ти като го повалиха на земята.

They have set Your sanctuary on fire; they have profaned the dwelling place of Your Name by casting it to the ground.

8 Р екоха в сърцето си: Нека ги изтребим съвсем; Изгориха всичките богослужебни домове по земята.

They said in their hearts, Let us make havoc altogether. They have burned up all God’s meetinghouses in the land.

9 З намения да се извършат за нас не виждаме; няма вече пророк, Нито има вече между нас някой да знае до кога ще се продължава това.

We do not see our symbols; there is no longer any prophet, neither does any among us know for how long.

10 Д о кога, Боже, противникът ще укорява? До века ли врагът ще хули името Ти?

O God, how long is the adversary to scoff and reproach? Is the enemy to blaspheme and revile Your name forever?

11 З ащо теглиш назад ръката Си, да! десницата Ти? Изтегли я изсред пазухата Си и погуби ги.

Why do You hold back Your hand, even Your right hand? Draw it out of Your bosom and consume them!

12 А Бог е от древността Цар мой, Който изработва избавления всред земята.

Yet God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.

13 Т и си раздвоил морето със силата Си; Ти си смазал главите на морските чудовища.

You did divide the Sea by Your might; You broke the heads of the dragons in the waters.

14 Т и си строшил главите на Левиатана, Дал си го за ястие на людете намиращи се в пустинята.

You crushed the heads of Leviathan (Egypt); You did give him as food for the creatures inhabiting the wilderness.

15 Т и си разцепил канари, за да изтичат извори и потоци; Пресушил си реки не пресъхвали.

You did cleave open fountains and streams; You dried up mighty, ever-flowing rivers (the Jordan).

16 Т вой е денят, Твоя е нощта; Ти си приготвил светлината и слънцето.

The day is Yours, the night also is Yours; You have established the light and the sun.

17 Т и си поставил всичките предели по земята; Ти си направил лятото и зимата.

You have fixed all the borders of the earth; You have made summer and winter.

18 П омни това, че врагът е укорил Господа, И че безумни люде са похулили Твоето име.

remember how the enemy has scoffed, O Lord, and reproached You, and how a foolish and impious people has blasphemed Your name.

19 Н е предавай на зверовете душата на гургулицата Си; Не забравяй за винаги живота на Твоите немотни.

Oh, do not deliver the life of your turtledove to the wild beast (to the greedy multitude); forget not the life of Your poor forever.

20 З ачети завета Си, Защото тъмните места на земята са пълни с жилища на насилие.

Have regard for the covenant, for the dark places of the land are full of the habitations of violence.

21 У гнетеният да се не върне назад посрамен; Сиромахът и немотният да хвалят името Ти.

Oh, let not the downtrodden return in shame; let the oppressed and needy praise Your name.

22 С тани, Боже, защити Своето дело; Помни как всеки ден безумният Те укорява.

Arise, O God, plead Your own cause; remember how the foolish and impious man scoffs and reproaches You day after day and all day long.

23 Н е забравяй гласа на противниците Си; Размирството на ония, които се повдигат против Тебе, постоянно се умножава.

Do not forget the voices of Your adversaries, the tumult of those who rise up against You, which ascends continually.
