1 С лед като свърши всичките Свои речи към людете, които Го слушаха(Гръцки: В ушите на людете.), Исус влезе в Капернаум.

After Jesus had finished all that He had to say in the hearing of the people, He entered Capernaum.

2 А на някой си стотник слугата, който му беше мил, боледуваше на умиране.

Now a centurion had a bond servant who was held in honor and highly valued by him, who was sick and at the point of death.

3 И като чу за Исуса, изпрати до Него някои юдейски старейшини да Го помолят да дойде и да оздрави слугата му.

And when the centurion heard of Jesus, he sent some Jewish elders to Him, requesting Him to come and make his bond servant well.

4 Т е, прочее, дойдоха при Исуса и Му се молеха усърдно, като казваха: Той заслужава да му сториш това;

And when they reached Jesus, they begged Him earnestly, saying, He is worthy that You should do this for him,

5 з ащото обича нашия народ, и той ни е построил синагогата.

For he loves our nation and he built us our synagogue.

6 А когато Исус вървеше, с тях и не беше вече далеч от къщата, стотникът изпрати до Него приятели да Му кажат: Господи, не си прави труд, защото не съм достоен да влезеш под стряхата ми;

And Jesus went with them. But when He was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to Him, saying, Lord, do not trouble, for I am not sufficiently worthy to have You come under my roof;

7 з атова нито счетох себе си достоен да дойда при тебе; кажи само дума, и слугата ми ще оздравее.

Neither did I consider myself worthy to come to You. But speak a word, and my servant boy will be healed.

8 З ащото и аз съм човек, поставен под власт, и имам подчинени на мен войници; и казвам на един: Иди, и той отива; и на друг: Дойди, и дохожда; и на слугата си: Направи това, и го прави.

For I also am a man subject to authority, with soldiers under me. And I say to one, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my bond servant, Do this, and he does it.

9 К ато чу това, Исус му се почуди; обърна се и рече на вървящия подир Него народ: Казвам ви, нито в Израил съм намерил толкова вяра.

Now when Jesus heard this, He marveled at him, and He turned and said to the crowd that followed Him, I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such great faith.

10 И когато изпратените се върнаха в къщата, намериха слугата оздравял.

And when the messengers who had been sent returned to the house, they found the bond servant who had been ill quite well again.

11 А скоро след това, Исус отиде в един град, наречен Наин; и с Него вървяха учениците Му и едно голямо множество.

Soon afterward, Jesus went to a town called Nain, and His disciples and a great throng accompanied Him.

12 И когато се приближи до градската порта, ето, изнасяха мъртвец, едничък син на майка си, която беше и вдовица; и с нея имаше голямо множество от града.

as He drew near the gate of the town, behold, a man who had died was being carried out—the only son of his mother, and she was a widow; and a large gathering from the town was accompanying her.

13 И Господ, като я видя, смили се за нея и рече -: Недей плака!

And when the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, Do not weep.

14 Т огава се приближи и се допря до носилото; а носачите се спряха. И рече: Момче, казвам ти, стани!

And He went forward and touched the funeral bier, and the pallbearers stood still. And He said, Young man, I say to you, arise '> from death]!

15 И мъртвият се подигна и седна, и почна да говори. И Исус го даде на майка му.

And the man dead sat up and began to speak. And gave him to his mother.

16 И страх обзе всички, и славеха Бога, казвайки: Велик пророк се издигна между нас; и Бог посети Своите люде.

Profound and reverent fear seized them all, and they began to recognize God and praise and give thanks, saying, A great Prophet has appeared among us! And God has visited His people!

17 И това, което казваха, се разнесе за Него по цяла Юдея и по цялата околност.

And this report concerning spread through the whole of Judea and all the country round about.

18 И учениците на Иоана му известиха за всичко това.

And John’s disciples brought him word of all these things.

19 И Иоан повика двама от учениците си и ги прати при Господа да кажат: Ти ли си Оня, Който има да дойде, или друг да очакваме?

And John summoned to him a certain two of his disciples and sent them to the Lord, saying, Are You He Who is to come, or shall we look for another?

20 И като дойдоха при Него човеците рекоха: Иоан Кръстител ни прати до Тебе да кажем: Ти ли си Оня, Който има да дойде, или друг да очакваме?

So the men came to Jesus and said, John the Baptist sent us to You to ask, Are You the One Who is to come, or shall we look for another?

21 И в същия час Той изцели мнозина от болести и язви, и зли духове, и на мнозина слепи подари зрение.

In that very hour Jesus was healing many of sicknesses and distressing bodily plagues and evil spirits, and to many who were blind He gave '> a free, gracious, joy-giving gift of] sight.

22 Т огава в отговор им каза: Идете и разкажете на Иоана това, което видяхте и чухте, че слепи прогледват, куци прохождат, прокажени се очистват, и глухи прочуват; мъртви биват възкресени, и на сиромасите се проповядва благовестието.

So He replied to them, Go and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the good news (the Gospel) preached to them.

23 И блажен е оня, който не се съблазни в Мене.

And blessed (happy— with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, apart from outward conditions—and to be envied) is he who takes no offense in Me and who is not hurt or resentful or annoyed or repelled or made to stumble '> whatever may occur].

24 А когато си отидоха пратените от Иоана, Исус почна да говори на народа за Иоана: Какво излязохте да видите в пустинята? Тръстика ли от вятър разлюлявана?

And the messengers of John having departed, Jesus began to speak to the crowds about John: What did you go out into the desert to gaze on? A reed shaken and swayed by the wind?

25 Н о какво излязохте да видите? Човек ли в меки дрехи облечен? Ето великолепно облечените и ония, които живеят разкошно, са в царските дворци.

Then what did you go out to see? A man dressed up in soft garments? Behold, those who wear fine apparel and live in luxury are in the courts or palaces of kings.

26 Н о какво излязохте да видите? Пророк ли? Да, казвам ви, и повече от пророк.

What then did you go out to see? A prophet (a forthteller)? Yes, I tell you, and far more than a prophet.

27 Т ова е оня, за когото е писано:

This is the one of whom it is written, Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, who shall make ready Your way before You.

28 К азвам ви: Между родените от жена няма по-голям от Иоана; обаче, по-малкият в Божието царство е по-голям от него.

I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; but he that is inferior in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

29 ( И всички люде и бирници, като чуха това, признаха Божията правда, като бяха се кръстили с Иоановото кръщение.

And all the people who heard Him, even the tax collectors, acknowledged the justice of God '> calling them to repentance and in pronouncing future wrath on the impenitent], being baptized with the baptism of John.

30 А фарисеите и законниците осуетиха Божията воля спрямо себе си, като не бяха се кръстили от него).

But the Pharisees and the lawyers annulled and rejected and brought to nothing God’s purpose concerning themselves, by not being baptized by him.

31 А на какво да уподобя човеците от това поколение? И на какво приличат?

So to what shall I compare the men of this generation? And what are they like?

32 Т е приличат на деца, седящи на пазаря, които викат едно на друго, казвайки: Свирихме ви, и не играхте; ридахме, и не плакахте.

They are like little children sitting in the marketplace, calling to one another and saying, We piped to you, and you did not dance; we sang dirges and wailed, and you did not weep.

33 З ащото Иоан Кръстител дойде, който нито хляб яде, нито вино пие, и казвате: Бяс има.

For John the Baptist has come neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, He has a demon.

34 Д ойде Човешкият Син, който яде и пие, и казвате: Ето човек лаком и винопиец, приятел на бирниците и на грешниците.

The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, Behold, a Man Who is a glutton and a wine drinker, a friend of tax collectors and notorious sinners.

35 Н о пак мъдростта се оправдава от всичките си чада.

Yet wisdom is vindicated ( shown to be true and divine) by all her children '> by their life, character, and deeds].

36 И един от фарисеите го покани да яде с него; и Той влезе във фарисеевата къща и седна на трапезата.

One of the Pharisees asked Jesus to dine with him, and He went into the Pharisee’s house and reclined at table.

37 И , ето, една жена от града, която беше грешница, като разбра, че седи на трапезата във фарисеевата къща, донесе алавастрен съд с миро.

And behold, a woman of the town who was an especially wicked sinner, when she learned that He was reclining at table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of ointment (perfume).

38 И като застана отзаде при нозете Му и плачеше, почна да облива нозете Му със сълзи и да ги изтрива с косата си, целуваше нозете Му, и мажеше ги с мирото.

And standing behind Him at His feet weeping, she began to wet His feet with tears; and she wiped them with the hair of her head and kissed His feet and anointed them with the ointment (perfume).

39 А като видя това фарисеят, който Го бе поканил, думаше в себе си, казвайки: Тоя ако беше пророк, щеше да знае коя и каква е жената, която се допира до Него, че е грешница.

Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw it, he said to himself, If this Man were a prophet, He would surely know who and what sort of woman this is who is touching Him—for she is a notorious sinner (a social outcast, devoted to sin).

40 А Исус в отговор му рече: Симоне, имам нещо да ти кажа. А той рече: Учителю, кажи!

And Jesus, replying, said to him, Simon, I have something to say to you. And he answered, Teacher, say it.

41 Н якой си заемодавец имаше двама длъжника; единият дължеше петстотин динара, а другият

A certain lender of money had two debtors: one owed him five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.

42 И понеже нямаха с какво да му платят, той прости и на двамата. И тъй, кой от тях ще го обикне повече?

When they had no means of paying, he freely forgave them both. Now which of them will love him more?

43 В отговор Симон рече: Мисля, че оня, комуто е простил повечето. А Той му рече: Право си отсъдил.

Simon answered, The one, I take it, for whom he forgave and cancelled more. And Jesus said to him, You have decided correctly.

44 И като се обърна към жената, рече на Симона: Видиш ли тая жена? Влязох в къщата ти, и ти вода за нозете Ми не даде; а тя със сълзи обля нозете Ми, и с косата си ги изтри.

Then turning toward the woman, He said to Simon, Do you see this woman? When I came into your house, you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has wet My feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.

45 Т и целувка ми не даде; а тя, откак съм влязъл не е престанала да целува нозете Ми.

You gave Me no kiss, but she from the moment I came in has not ceased '> intermittently] to kiss My feet tenderly and caressingly.

46 Т и с масло не помаза главата Ми; а тя с миро помаза нозете Ми.

You did not anoint My head with oil, but she has anointed My feet with perfume.

47 З атова ти казвам: Прощават - се многото грехове; (защото тя обикна много); а комуто малко се прощава, той малко обича.

Therefore I tell you, her sins, many, are forgiven her—because she has loved much. But he who is forgiven little loves little.

48 И рече -: Прощават ти се греховете.

And He said to her, Your sins are forgiven!

49 И тия, които седяха с Него на трапезата, почнаха да казват помежду си: Кой е тоя, който и греховете прощава?

Then those who were at table with Him began to say among themselves, Who is this Who even forgives sins?

50 И рече на жената: Твоята вяра те спаси; иди си с мир.

But Jesus said to the woman, Your faith has saved you; go (enter) into peace '> in freedom from all the distresses that are experienced as the result of sin].
