1 W iilkaygiiyow, haddaad erayadayda aqbashid, Oo aad amarradayda qalbigaaga ku haysatid,

My son, if you will receive my words and treasure up my commandments within you,

2 S i aad dhegta xigmadda ugu dhigtid, Oo aad qalbigaagana waxgarashada ugu qabatid;

Making your ear attentive to skillful and godly Wisdom and inclining and directing your heart and mind to understanding;

3 H addaad wax-kala-garashada ka daba qaylisid, Oo aad codkaaga waxgarashada kor ugu qaaddid;

Yes, if you cry out for insight and raise your voice for understanding,

4 H addaad iyada u raadisid sida lacagta oo kale, Oo aad u doondoontid sida maal qarsoon,

If you seek as for silver and search for skillful and godly Wisdom as for hidden treasures,

5 M arkaas waxaad garan doontaa Rabbiga ka cabsashadiisa, Oo waxaad heli doontaa aqoonta Ilaah.

Then you will understand the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.

6 W aayo, Rabbigu isagaa bixiya xigmadda, Oo afkiisa waxaa ka soo baxa aqoonta iyo waxgarashada.

For the Lord gives skillful and godly Wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.

7 I sagu kuwa xaqa ah xigmad buu u kaydiyaa, Oo kuwa daacadnimada u socdana waa u gaashaan.

He hides away sound and godly Wisdom and stores it for the righteous (those who are upright and in right standing with Him); He is a shield to those who walk uprightly and in integrity,

8 I sagu wuxuu dhawraa waddooyinka garta, Oo wuxuu xannaaneeyaa jidka quduusiintiisa.

That He may guard the paths of justice; yes, He preserves the way of His saints.

9 M arkaasaad garan doontaa xaqnimada, iyo garta, Iyo caaddilnimada, iyo jid kasta oo wanaagsan.

Then you will understand righteousness, justice, and fair dealing; yes, you will understand every good path.

10 W aayo, waxaa qalbigaaga soo geli doonta xigmadda, Oo aqoontuna waxay ka farxin doontaa naftaada;

For skillful and godly Wisdom shall enter into your heart, and knowledge shall be pleasant to you.

11 D igtoonaanta baa ku xanaanayn doonta, Oo waxaa ku dhawri doonta waxgarashada,

Discretion shall watch over you, understanding shall keep you,

12 S i lagaaga samatabbixiyo jidka kan sharka ah, Iyo dadka waxyaalaha qalloocan ku hadla,

To deliver you from the way of evil and the evil men, from men who speak perverse things and are liars,

13 O o qummanaanta waddooyinkeeda ka taga, Si ay jidadka gudcurka ugu socdaan,

Men who forsake the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness,

14 O o ay ku reyreeyaan inay xumaan falaan, Oo ay qalloocnaanta kan sharkaa ku farxaan;

Who rejoice to do evil and delight in the perverseness of evil,

15 O o jidadkoodu maroorsan yihiin, Oo waddooyinkooduna qalloocan yihiin,

Who are crooked in their ways, wayward and devious in their paths.

16 I n lagaa samatabbixiyo naagta qalaad, Xataa naagta qalaad oo hadalladeeda kugu sasabata,

to deliver you from the alien woman, from the outsider with her flattering words,

17 T aasoo ka tagta horseedkii yaraanteeda, Oo illowda axdigii Ilaaheeda;

Who forsakes the husband and guide of her youth and forgets the covenant of her God.

18 W aayo, gurigeedu wuxuu ku foororaa dhimasho, Oo waddooyinkeeduna waxay ku dhaadhacaan kuwii dhintay.

For her house sinks down to death and her paths to the spirits.

19 K uwa iyada u gala midkoodna sooma noqdo, Oo waddooyinka noloshana ma ay helaan.

None who go to her return again, neither do they attain or regain the paths of life.

20 W aa inaad ku socotid jidka dadka wanaagsan, Oo aad dhawrtid waddooyinka kuwa xaqa ah.

So may you walk in the way of good men, and keep to the paths of the righteous (the upright, in right standing with God).

21 W aayo, kuwa qummanu dhulkay fadhiyi doonaan, Oo kuwa kaamilka ahuna way sii joogi doonaan.

For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the men of integrity, blameless and complete, shall remain in it;

22 L aakiinse kuwa sharkaa waa laga gooyn doonaa dhulka, Oo khaayinnadana waa laga rujin doonaa.

But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the treacherous shall be rooted out of it.
