1 K ii inta wax badan la canaanto ka madax adkaadaa, Dhaqso buu u jabi doonaa, dawona ma leh.

He who, being often reproved, hardens his neck shall suddenly be destroyed—and that without remedy.

2 M arkii kuwa xaqa ahu amarka haystaan, dadku wuu reyreeyaa, Laakiinse markii kuwa sharka lahu xukunka wataan, dadku wuu taahaa.

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked man rules, the people groan and sigh.

3 K ii xigmad jecelu aabbihiisuu ka farxiyaa, Laakiinse kii dhillooyin raacaa maalkiisuu khasaariyaa.

Whoever loves skillful and godly Wisdom rejoices his father, but he who associates with harlots wastes his substance.

4 B oqorku gar buu dalka ku dhisaa, Laakiinse kii laaluush jecelu wuu dumiyaa.

The king by justice establishes the land, but he who exacts gifts and tribute overthrows it.

5 N inkii deriskiisa faaniyaa Shabag dabin ah ayuu cagihiisa hor dhigaa.

A man who flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his own feet.

6 N inkii shar ah xadgudubkiisa waxaa ku jira dabin, Laakiinse kii xaq ahu waa iska heesaa oo reyreeyaa.

In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare, but the righteous man sings and rejoices.

7 K ii xaq ahu wuxuu ka war hayaa dacwadda masaakiinta, Laakiinse kii shar ahu ma yaqaan aqoontaas.

The righteous man knows and cares for the rights of the poor, but the wicked man has no interest in such knowledge.

8 K uwa wax quudhsadaa magaalay dab qabadsiiyaan, Laakiinse kuwa caqliga lahu cadhay qabowjiyaan.

Scoffers set a city afire, but wise men turn away wrath.

9 H addii nin caqli leh nin nacas ah la doodo, Nasasho ma jirto hadduu cadhoodo iyo hadduu qosloba.

If a wise man has an argument with a foolish man, the fool only rages or laughs, and there is no rest.

10 D hiigyocabyadu kii kaamil ah way neceb yihiin, Laakiinse kuwa qumman waxay doondoonaan inay naftiisa badbaadshaan.

The bloodthirsty hate the blameless man, but the upright care for and seek his life.

11 N acasku cadhadiisa oo dhan buu soo saaraa, Laakiinse kii caqli lahu dib buu u ceshadaa, wuuna aamusnaadaa.

A fool utters all his anger, but a wise man holds it back and stills it.

12 H addii taliye been dhegaysto, Midiidinyadiisa oo dhammu waa wada shar miidhan.

If a ruler listens to falsehood, all his officials will become wicked.

13 M iskiinka iyo khaayinku way wada kulmaan, Oo labadoodaba Rabbigu indhahooduu iftiimiyaa.

The poor man and the oppressor meet together—the Lord gives light to the eyes of both.

14 B oqorkii daacadnimo masaakiinta ugu xukuma, Carshigiisu wuu dhisnaan doonaa weligiisba.

The king who faithfully judges the poor, his throne shall be established continuously.

15 U sha iyo canaantu caqli bay keenaan, Laakiinse ilmihii layska daayaa ceeb buu hooyadiis u soo jiidaa.

The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child left undisciplined brings his mother to shame.

16 M arkii kuwa sharka lahu bataan, xadgudub baa sii kordha, Laakiinse kuwa xaqa ah ayaa dhiciddooda arki doona.

When the wicked are in authority, transgression increases, but the righteous shall see the fall of the wicked.

17 W iilkaaga edbi, oo isna wuu ku nasin doonaa, Haah, naftaada wuu ka farxin doonaa.

Correct your son, and he will give you rest; yes, he will give delight to your heart.

18 M arkii aan muujinu jirin dadku waa halligmaa, Laakiinse kii sharciga dhawraa waa barakaysan yahay.

Where there is no vision, the people perish; but he who keeps the law —blessed (happy, fortunate, and enviable) is he.

19 A ddoon hadal kuma edeb yeesho, Waayo, in kastoo uu garanayo ka jawaabi maayo.

A servant will not be corrected by words alone; for though he understands, he will not answer.

20 M a aragtay nin hadalkiisa ku degdega? Kaas waxaa ka rajo roon nacas.

Do you see a man who is hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

21 K ii addoonkiisa si wanaagsan u soo koriya tan iyo yaraantiisa, Ugu dambaysta wiil buu u noqon doonaa.

He who pampers his servant from childhood will have him expecting the rights of a son afterward.

22 N inkii xanaaq badanu muran buu kiciyaa. Ninkii cadho kululuna xadgudub buu badsadaa.

A man of wrath stirs up strife, and a man given to anger commits and causes much transgression.

23 N in kibirkiisu hoos buu u dejin doonaa, Laakiinse kii is-hoosaysiiyaa sharaf buu heli doonaa.

A man’s pride will bring him low, but he who is of a humble spirit will obtain honor.

24 K u alla kii tuug la shirkoobaa naftiisuu nacaa, Habaarkuu maqlaa, laakiinse waxba kama sheego.

Whoever is partner with a thief hates his own life; he falls under the curse but discloses nothing.

25 D adka ka cabsashadiisu wax bay dabtaa, Laakiinse kii Rabbiga isku halleeyaa wuu nabad geli doonaa.

The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever leans on, trusts in, and puts his confidence in the Lord is safe and set on high.

26 K uwo badan baa taliyaha raallinimo ka doona, Laakiinse dadka garsooriddiisu waxay ka timaadaa xagga Rabbiga.

Many crave and seek the ruler’s favor, but the wise man for justice from the Lord.

27 N inkii xaqdaranu waa u karaahiyo kuwa xaqa ah, Oo kii jidka ku qummanuna waa u karaahiyo kii shar ah.

An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous, and he who is upright in the way is an abomination to the wicked.
