1 S amada iyo dhulkuna way dhammaadeen, iyo waxa badan ee ku jira oo dhammuba.

Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

2 M aalintii toddobaadna Ilaah wuu dhammeeyey shuqulkiisii uu sameeyey; oo maalintii toddobaad ayuu ka nastay shuqulkiisii uu sameeyey oo dhanba.

And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.

3 O o Ilaah wuu barakeeyey maalintii toddobaad, quduusna wuu ka dhigay; maxaa yeelay, maalintaas ayaa Ilaah ka nastay shuqulkiisii uu sameeyey ee ahaa abuuridda oo dhan. Aadan Iyo Xaawa

And God blessed (spoke good of) the seventh day, set it apart as His own, and hallowed it, because on it God rested from all His work which He had created and done.

4 K uwanu waa bilowgii samada iyo dhulka kolkii la abuuray iyaga, maalintii Rabbiga Ilaah ahu sameeyey dhulka iyo samada.

This is the history of the heavens and of the earth when they were created. In the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens—

5 D hirta duurkuna weli kuma ay oollin dhulka, geedaha yaryar oo duurkuna weli sooma ay bixin: waayo, Rabbiga Ilaah ahu dhulka roob kuma soo dayn, nin dhulka beeraana ma jirin;

When no plant of the field was yet in the earth and no herb of the field had yet sprung up, for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth and there was no man to till the ground,

6 l aakiin ceeryaamo baa dhulka kor uga soo bixi jirtay, oo waraabin jirtay dhulka dushiisa oo dhan.

But there went up a mist (fog, vapor) from the land and watered the whole surface of the ground—

7 R abbiga Ilaah ahuna nin buu ka sameeyey ciidda dhulka, dulalka sankiisana wuxuu kaga afuufay neeftii nolosha; ninkiina wuxuu noqday naf nool.

Then the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath or spirit of life, and man became a living being.

8 O o Rabbiga Ilaah ahu beer buu ka beeray xagga bari ee Ceeden; oo halkaasuuna geeyey ninkii uu sameeyey.

And the Lord God planted a garden toward the east, in Eden; and there He put the man whom He had formed (framed, constituted).

9 R abbiga Ilaah ahuna wuxuu dhulka ka soo bixiyey geed kasta oo indhaha u roon, oo cunto ku wanaagsan; beerta dhexdeedana wuxuu ka soo bixiyey geedkii nolosha iyo geedkii aqoonta wanaagga iyo xumaanta.

And out of the ground the Lord God made to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight or to be desired—good (suitable, pleasant) for food; the tree of life also in the center of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and blessing and calamity.

10 C eedenna webi baa ka baxay inuu beerta waraabiyo; halkaasuuna ku kala qaybsamay, wuxuuna noqday afar madax.

Now a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from there it divided and became four heads.

11 K an kowaad magiciisu wuxuu ahaa Fiishoon: kaasu waa kan ku wareegsan dhulka Xawiilaah oo dhan, meeshaas oo dahab leh;

The first is named Pishon; it is the one flowing around the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold.

12 o o dahabka dhulkaasu waa wanaagsan yahay: oo meeshaasuna waxay leedahay beduliyum iyo dhagaxyo onika la yidhaahdo.

The gold of that land is of high quality; bdellium (pearl?) and onyx stone are there.

13 W ebiga labaad magiciisuna waa Giixoon: kaasuna waa kan ku wareegsan dhulka Kuush oo dhan.

The second river is named Gihon; it is the one flowing around the whole land of Cush.

14 W ebiga saddexaad magiciisuna waa Xiddeqel: kaasu waa kan Ashuur dhankeeda bari mara. Webiga afraadna waa Yufraad.

The third river is named Hiddekel; it is the one flowing east of Assyria. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.

15 R abbiga Ilaah ahuna ninkii wuu kaxeeyey oo wuxuu geeyey beer Ceeden inuu falo oo dhawro.

And the Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend and guard and keep it.

16 R abbiga Ilaah ahuna wuxuu ninkii ku amray isagoo leh, Geed kasta oo beerta ku yaal wax baad ka cuni kartaa:

And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, You may freely eat of every tree of the garden;

17 l aakiin geedka aqoonta wanaagga iyo xumaanta waa inaanad waxba ka cunin: waayo, maalintii aad wax ka cuntid hubaal waad dhiman doontaa.

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and blessing and calamity you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.

18 O o Rabbiga Ilaah ahu wuxuu yidhi, Ma wanaagsana in ninku keligiis ahaado; waxaan u samayn doonaa mid caawisa oo ku habboon.

Now the Lord God said, It is not good (sufficient, satisfactory) that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper (suitable, adapted, complementary) for him.

19 R abbiga Ilaah ahuna wuxuu ciidda ka sameeyey dugaag kasta oo duurka jooga, iyo haad kasta oo hawada duula; oo iyagii wuxuu u keenay ninkii, inuu arko wuxuu u bixiyo; oo wax kastoo ninkii u bixiyey uun kasta oo nool ayaa magiciisii noqday.

And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast and living creature of the field and every bird of the air and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them; and whatever Adam called every living creature, that was its name.

20 O o ninkii baa magacyo u bixiyey xoolaha oo dhan, iyo haadda hawada, iyo dugaag kasta oo duurka jooga, laakiin ninkii looma helin mid caawisa oo ku habboon.

And Adam gave names to all the livestock and to the birds of the air and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found a helper meet (suitable, adapted, complementary) for him.

21 O o Rabbiga Ilaah ahu hurdo weyn buu ku riday ninkii, kolkaasuu gam'ay; kolkaasuu wuxuu ka bixiyey feedhihiisii middood, meesheediina hilib buu ku awday.

And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam; and while he slept, He took one of his ribs or a part of his side and closed up the flesh.

22 O o feedhii Rabbiga Ilaah ahu ka bixiyey ninka ayuu naag ka sameeyey, oo wuxuu iyadii u keenay ninkii.

And the rib or part of his side which the Lord God had taken from the man He built up and made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.

23 N inkiina wuxuu yidhi, Tanu hadda waa laf ka mid ah lafahayga, iyo hilib ka mid ah hilibkayga: waxaa iyada loogu yeedhi doonaa Naag, maxaa yeelay, iyada waxaa laga soo saaray Nin.

Then Adam said, This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of a man.

24 S idaas daraaddeed nin wuxuu ka tegayaa aabbihiis iyo hooyadiis, wuxuuna la joogayaa naagtiisa: oo waxay noqonayaan isku jidh.

Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and shall become united and cleave to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

25 O o labadooduba way qaawanaayeen, ninka iyo naagtiisuba, mana ay xishoonaynin.

And the man and his wife were both naked and were not embarrassed or ashamed in each other’s presence.
