1 M aahmaahyadii Sulaymaan. Wiilka caqliga lahu aabbihiisuu ka farxiyaa, Laakiinse wiilka nacaska ahu waa u caloolxumo hooyadiis.

The proverbs of Solomon: A wise son makes a glad father, but a foolish and self-confident son is the grief of his mother.

2 Q asnadaha sharnimadu faa'iido ma leh, Laakiinse xaqnimada ayaa dhimasho kaa samatabbixisa.

Treasures of wickedness profit nothing, but righteousness (moral and spiritual rectitude in every area and relation) delivers from death.

3 K ii xaq ah naftiisu inay gaajooto Rabbigu u oggolaan maayo, Laakiinse doonista kuwa sharka leh ayuu ridaa.

The Lord will not allow the righteous to famish, but He thwarts the desire of the wicked.

4 K ii gacan caajis ah lahu wuu caydhoobaa, Laakiinse kuwa dadaala gacantoodu hodan bay ka dhigtaa.

He becomes poor who works with a slack and idle hand, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.

5 K ii guga wax soo urursadaa waa wiil caqli leh, Laakiinse kii wakhtiga beergooyska seexdaa waa wiil ceeb sameeya.

He who gathers in summer is a wise son, but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame.

6 B arako waxay saaran tahay kan xaqa ah madaxiisa, Laakiinse kuwa sharka leh afkooda dulmi baa qariya.

Blessings are upon the head of the righteous (the upright, in right standing with God) but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.

7 K an xaqa ah xusuustiisu barako bay leedahay, Laakiinse kuwa sharka leh magacoodu waa qudhmi doonaa.

The memory of the righteous is a blessing, but the name of the wicked shall rot.

8 K ii qalbiga caqli ku lahu amarro buu aqbalaa, Laakiinse kan bushimaha ka nacaska ahu afgembi buu u dhacaa.

The wise in heart will accept and obey commandments, but the foolish of lips will fall headlong.

9 K ii qummanaan ku socdaa ammaan buu ku socdaa; Laakiinse kii jidadkiisa qalqalloociya waa la ogaan doonaa.

He who walks uprightly walks securely, but he who takes a crooked way shall be found out and punished.

10 K ii indhaha ku baaqaa murug buu keenaa. Laakiinse kan bushimaha ka nacaska ahu afgembi buu u dhacaa.

He who winks with the eye causes sorrow; the foolish of lips will fall headlong but he who boldly reproves makes peace.

11 N inkii xaq ah afkiisu waa il nololeed, Laakiinse kuwa sharka leh afkooda dulmi baa qariya.

The mouth of the righteous man is a well of life, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.

12 N ecbaantu waxay kicisaa isqabashada, Laakiinse jacaylku xadgudubyada oo dhan buu qariyaa.

Hatred stirs up contentions, but love covers all transgressions.

13 K ii waxgarasho leh bushimihiisa waxaa laga helaa xigmad, Laakiinse ushu waxay u taal kan garaadka daran dhabarkiisa.

On the lips of him who has discernment skillful and godly Wisdom is found, but discipline and the rod are for the back of him who is without sense and understanding.

14 D adkii caqli lahu waxay kaydsadaan aqoon, Laakiinse nacaska afkiisu waa baabba' dhow.

Wise men store up knowledge, but the mouth of the foolish is a present destruction.

15 N inkii hodan ah maalkiisu waa u magaalo xoog leh, Laakiinse masaakiinta caydhnimadoodu waa u baabba'.

The rich man’s wealth is his strong city; the poverty of the poor is their ruin.

16 K uwa xaqa ah hawshoodu waxay u waddaa nolol, Laakiinse waxa kan sharka leh u kordhaa, dembi bay u sii kexeeyaan.

The earnings of the righteous (the upright, in right standing with God) lead to life, but the profit of the wicked leads to further sin.

17 K ii edbinta xajistaa wuxuu ku socdaa jidka nolosha, Laakiinse kii canaanta diidaa wuu qaldamaa.

He who heeds instruction and correction is in the way of life is a way of life for others. And he who neglects or refuses reproof goes astray causes to err and is a path toward ruin for others.

18 K ii necbaanta qariyaa wuxuu leeyahay bushimo been badan, Oo kii xanta ku hadlaana waa nacas.

He who hides hatred is of lying lips, and he who utters slander is a fool.

19 H adal badan dembi lagama waayo, Laakiinse kii bushimihiisa ceshaa caqli buu leeyahay.

In a multitude of words transgression is not lacking, but he who restrains his lips is prudent.

20 K ii xaq ah carrabkiisu waa sida lacag la doortay, Laakiinse kuwa sharka leh qalbigoodu waa qiimo yar yahay.

The tongues of those who are upright and in right standing with God are as choice silver; the minds of those who are wicked and out of harmony with God are of little value.

21 K ii xaq ah bushimahiisu waxay masruufaan kuwa badan, Laakiinse nacasyadu waxgarashola'aantooda ayay u dhintaan.

The lips of the righteous feed and guide many, but fools die for want of understanding and heart.

22 R abbiga barakadiisu hodan bay kaa dhigtaa, Oo isna caloolxumo kuma daro.

The blessing of the Lord—it makes rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.

23 N acasku inuu xumaan sameeyo waa u sidii cayaareed, Laakiinse ninka garaadka lahu xigmad buu leeyahay.

It is as sport to a fool to do wickedness, but to have skillful and godly Wisdom is pleasure and relaxation to a man of understanding.

24 K ii shar leh wuxuu ka cabsado ayaa ku soo dul degi doona, Laakiinse kuwa xaqa ah waxay doonayaan waa la siin doonaa.

The thing a wicked man fears shall come upon him, but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.

25 M arkii dabaysha cirwareenta ahu dhaafto, ka sharka leh mar dambe la arki maayo, Laakiinse kii xaq ahu waa aasaas weligiis waaraya.

When the whirlwind passes, the wicked are no more, but the righteous have an everlasting foundation.

26 K halku siduu ilkaha u yahay, iyo sida qiiqu indhaha u yahay, Ayaa kan caajiska ahu u yahay kuwa isaga dirta.

As vinegar to the teeth and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to those who employ and send him.

27 R abbiga ka cabsashadiisu cimrigay dheeraysaa, Laakiinse kuwa sharka leh cimrigoodu waa soo gaaban doonaa.

The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord prolongs one’s days, but the years of the wicked shall be made short.

28 K uwa xaqa ah rajadoodu waa farxad, Laakiinse kuwa sharka leh filashadoodu way baabbi'i doontaa.

The hope of the righteous (the upright, in right standing with God) is gladness, but the expectation of the wicked (those who are out of harmony with God) comes to nothing.

29 R abbiga jidkiisu waa u qalcad kuwa qumman; Laakiinse xumaanfalayaasha waa u baabba'.

The way of the Lord is strength and a stronghold to the upright, but it is destruction to the workers of iniquity.

30 K an xaqa ah weligiis la dhaqaajin maayo, Laakiinse kuwa sharka lahu dhulka ma fadhiyi doonaan.

The righteous shall never be removed, but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.

31 K an xaqa ah afkiisa waxaa ka soo baxda xigmad, Laakiinse carrabkii qalloocan waa la gooyn doonaa.

The mouths of the righteous (those harmonious with God) bring forth skillful and godly Wisdom, but the perverse tongue shall be cut down.

32 K an xaqa ah bushimahiisu waxay yaqaaniin waxa la aqbali karo, Laakiinse kan sharka leh afkiisu qallooc buu ku hadlaa.

The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked knows what is obstinately willful and contrary.
