1 O o labadii malaa'igood baa Sodom fiidkii yimid; Luudna wuxuu fadhiyey iridda Sodom. Oo markuu Luud iyagii arkay ayuu u kacay inuu ka hor tago; wuuna sujuuday oo wejigiisuu dhulka saaray;

It was evening when the two angels came to Sodom. Lot was sitting at Sodom’s gate. Seeing them, Lot rose up to meet them and bowed to the ground.

2 o o wuxuu ku yidhi, Bal eega, sayidyadaydiiyow, soo leexda, waan idin baryayaaye, oo gala guriga addoonkiinna, oo caawa oo dhan jooga, oo cagamaydha. Aroortii baanad kici doontaan oo iska tegi doontaane. Oo waxay ku yidhaahdeen, Maya; laakiin jidkaannu joogaynaa caawa oo dhan.

And he said, My lords, turn aside, I beg of you, into your servant’s house and spend the night and bathe your feet. Then you can arise early and go on your way. But they said, No, we will spend the night in the square.

3 A ad buuna u baryay; xaggiisayna u soo leexdeen, oo gurigiisii bay galeen; diyaafad buuna u sameeyey, kibis aan khamiir lahaynna wuu u dubay, wayna cuneen.

entreated and urged them greatly until they yielded and entered his house. And he made them a dinner and had unleavened bread which he baked, and they ate.

4 L aakiinse intaanay jiifsan ka hor, waxaa gurigii hareereeyey nimankii magaalada, oo ahaa nimankii Sodom, yar iyo weynba, dadkii oo dhan oo ka yimid meel kastaba;

But before they lay down, the men of the city of Sodom, both young and old, all the men from every quarter, surrounded the house.

5 o o Luud bay u yeedheen, oo waxay ku yidhaahdeen, Meeye nimankii caawa kuu yimid? Dibadda noogu soo bixi iyaga, aannu fuulnee.

And they called to Lot and said, Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us, that we may know (be intimate with) them.

6 O o Luudna dibadduu ugu baxay iyagoo albaabka jooga, albaabkiina wuu xidhay.

And Lot went out of the door to the men and shut the door after him

7 O o wuxuu yidhi, Waan idin baryayaaye, walaalahayow, ee wax sidaas u xun ha samaynina.

And said, I beg of you, my brothers, do not behave so wickedly.

8 B al eega, waxaan leeyahay laba gabdhood oo aan weli nin u tegin; haddaba waan idin baryayaaye, aan idiin soo bixiyo iyaga, oo saad doontaan u gala, laakiin nimankan uun waxba ha ku samaynina, maxaa yeelay, waxay soo hoos galeen dugsiga saqafkayga.

Look now, I have two daughters who are virgins; let me, I beg of you, bring them out to you, and you can do as you please with them. But only do nothing to these men, for they have come under the protection of my roof.

9 W axayna yidhaahdeen, Dib u joogso. Oo waxay kaloo yidhaahdeen, Ninkanu socdaal buu ku yimid, oo wuxuu doonayaa inuu xaakin noqdo. Haatan wax daran baannu kugu samayn, intaannu iyaga ku samayn lahayn in ka sii daran. Markaasay si xun ninkii Luud ahaa u riixeen. Waxayna ugu soo dhowaadeen inay albaabka jebiyaan.

But they said, Stand back! And they said, This fellow came in to live here temporarily, and now he presumes to be judge! Now we will deal worse with you than with them. So they rushed at and pressed violently against Lot and came close to breaking down the door.

10 L aakiinse nimankii baa gacmahoodii soo bixiyey, oo Luud bay gurigii soo gashadeen, markaasay albaabkii xidheen.

But the men reached out and pulled Lot into the house to them and shut the door after him.

11 W ayna indho tireen nimankii guriga albaabkiisa joogay, yar iyo weynba: oo saas daraaddeed way ka daaleen inay albaabkii helaan.

And they struck the men who were at the door of the house with blindness, from the youths to the old men, so that they wearied themselves to find the door.

12 O o nimankii waxay Luud ku yidhaahdeen, Intan mooyaane wax kale ma ku leedahay meeshan? Wiil aad soddog u tahay iyo wiilashaada iyo gabdhahaaga, iyo ku alla kaad magaalada ku leedahay kala soo bax meeshan;

And the men asked Lot, Have you any others here—sons-in-law or your sons or your daughters? Whomever you have in the city, bring them out of this place,

13 w aayo, meeshan waannu baabbi'in doonnaa, maxaa yeelay, qayladoodii baa Rabbiga hortiisa aad ugu badatay: oo Rabbigu wuxuu noo soo diray inaannu baabbi'inno.

For we will spoil and destroy; for the outcry and shriek against its people has grown great before the Lord, and He has sent us to destroy it.

14 M arkaasuu Luud dibadda u baxay, oo wuxuu la hadlay wiilashuu soddogga u ahaa, oo gabdhihiisa qabay, oo wuxuu ku yidhi, Kaca, oo ka soo baxa meeshan; waayo, Rabbigu magaalada wuu baabbi'in doonaa. Laakiin wuxuu wiilashuu soddogga u ahaa ula ekaaday sidii mid ku cayaaraya.

And Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were to marry his daughters, and said, Up, get out of this place, for the Lord will spoil and destroy this city! But he seemed to his sons-in-law to be joking.

15 O o markii waagii beryay ayaa malaa'igihii Luud deddejiyeen, iyagoo leh, Kac, oo la tag naagtaada iyo labadaada gabdhood oo halkan jooga; waaba intaasoo aad dembiga magaalada ku baabba'daane.

When morning came, the angels urged Lot to hurry, saying, Arise, take your wife and two daughters who are here, lest you be consumed and swept away in the iniquity and punishment of the city.

16 L aakiin markuu raagay ayay nimankii gacantiisa qabteen, iyo gacantii naagtiisa, iyo gacantii labadiisii gabdhood; Rabbiguna waa u naxariistay isaga, iyana way soo bixiyeen, oo waxay geeyeen magaaladii dibaddeeda.

But while he lingered, the men seized him and his wife and his two daughters by the hand, for the Lord was merciful to him; and they brought him forth and set him outside the city and left him there.

17 O o markay dibadda u soo bixiyeen ayuu ku yidhi, Naftaada la baxso; gadaashaadana ha eegin. Bannaanka oo dhanna ha joogsan, ee buurta u baxso, waaba intaas oo aad baabba'daaye.

And when they had brought them forth, they said, Escape for your life! Do not look behind you or stop anywhere in the whole valley; escape to the mountains, lest you be consumed.

18 L uudna wuxuu ku yidhi iyagii, Sayidkaygiiyow, saas yaanay noqon.

And Lot said to them, Oh, not that, my lords!

19 B al eeg, anigoo addoonkaaga ah raalli baad iga ahayd, oo waad weynaysay naxariistaadii aad i tustay markii aad naftayda badbaadisay; aniguse buurta uma baxsan karo, waaba intaasoo shar i gaadhaa oo aan dhintaa.

Behold now, your servant has found favor in your sight, and you have magnified your kindness and mercy to me in saving my life; but I cannot escape to the mountains, lest the evil overtake me, and I die.

20 B al eeg, magaaladan baa dhow inaan u cararo, waana mid yar, de iyada aan u baxsado, (miyaanay mid yar ahayn?) naftayduna waa noolaan doontaa.

See now yonder city; it is near enough to flee to, and it is a little one. Oh, let me escape to it! Is it not a little one? And my life will be saved!

21 O o wuxuu ku yidhi isagii, Bal eeg, waxanna waan kaa aqbalay inaanan rogi doonin magaaladii aad ka hadashay.

And said to him, See, I have yielded to your entreaty concerning this thing also; I will not destroy this city of which you have spoken.

22 D haqso, oo halkaas u baxso; waayo, waxba ma aan samayn karo ilaa aad halkaas tagto. Sidaas daraaddeed magaalada magaceeda waxaa loo bixiyey Socar.

Make haste and take refuge there, for I cannot do anything until you arrive there. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.

23 M arkii Luud Socar yimid ayaa qorraxdu dhulka u soo baxday.

The sun had risen over the earth when Lot entered Zoar.

24 M arkaasaa Rabbigu wuxuu Sodom iyo Gomora ku soo daayay baruud iyo dab ka yimid xagga Rabbiga oo samada ka soo daatay;

Then the Lord rained on Sodom and on Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of the heavens.

25 w uuna rogay magaalooyinkaas, iyo Bannaankii oo dhan, iyo dadkii degganaa magaalooyinkaas oo dhan, iyo wixii dhulka ka soo baxay oo dhan.

He overthrew, destroyed, and ended those cities, and all the valley and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground.

26 L aakiinse naagtiisii oo daba socotay ayaa dib u eegtay, waxayna noqotay tiir cusbo ah.

But wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.

27 I braahimna aroortii hore ayuu u kacay meeshii uu Rabbiga hor istaagay:

Abraham went up early the next morning to the place where he had stood before the Lord.

28 o o wuxuu eegay xagga Sodom iyo Gomora, iyo dhulkii Bannaanka oo dhan, wuuna fiiriyey, oo bal eeg, qiiqii dhulka ayaa kor u baxay sidii qiiqa foornada oo kale.

And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the valley, and saw, and behold, the smoke of the country went up like the smoke of a furnace.

29 O o waxay noqotay, markii Ilaah baabbi'iyey magaalooyinkii Bannaanka, in Ilaah xusuustay Ibraahim, Luudna roggidda wuu ka bixiyey markuu rogay magaalooyinkii Luud dhex degganaa. Luud Iyo Gabdhihiisa

When God ravaged and destroyed the cities of the plain, He remembered Abraham, and He sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow when He overthrew the cities where Lot lived.

30 L uudna Socar wuu ka baxay, oo buurtuu degay, isaga iyo labadiisii gabdhood ee la joogayba; waayo, wuu ka cabsaday inuu Socar degganaado, wuxuuna degay bohol dhexdeed, isaga iyo labadiisii gabdhood.

And Lot went up out of Zoar and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him, for he feared to dwell in Zoar; and he lived in a cave, he and his two daughters.

31 O o tii curadda ahayd waxay tii yarayd ku tidhi, Aabbeheen waa duq, dhulkana ma jiro nin inoo iman kara sida caadada dunida oo dhan tahay.

The elder said to the younger, Our father is aging, and there is not a man on earth to live with us in the customary way.

32 K aalay, aynu aabbeheen khamri cabsiinnee, markaasaynu la jiifsanaynaa, si aynu aabbeheen farcan ugala hadhno.

Come, let us make our father drunk with wine, and we will lie with him, so that we may preserve offspring (our race) through our father.

33 O o habeenkaasay aabbahood khamri cabsiiyeen, oo tii curadda ahayd baa u tagtay oo la jiifsatay aabbeheed; mana uu ogayn markay la jiifsatay, iyo markay ka kacday toona.

And they made their father drunk with wine that night, and the older went in and lay with her father; and he was not aware of it when she lay down or when she arose.

34 O o waxay noqotay in maalintii dambe ay tii curadda ahayd ku tidhi tii yarayd, Bal eeg, xalayto aabbahay baan la jiifsaday: caawana aynu khamri cabsiinno; oo adigu u tag oo la jiifso isaga, aynu aabbeheen farcan kala hadhnee.

Then the next day the firstborn said to the younger, See here, I lay last night with my father; let us make him drunk with wine tonight also, and then you go in and lie with him, so that we may preserve offspring (our race) through our father.

35 O o haddana habeenkaasay aabbahood khamri cabsiiyeen: oo tii yarayd baa kacday oo aabbeheed la jiifsatay; mana uu ogayn markay la jiifsatay iyo markay ka kacday toona.

And they made their father drunk with wine again that night, and the younger arose and lay with him; and he was not aware of it when she lay down or when she arose.

36 O o sidaasay Luud labadiisii gabdhoodba aabbahood uurka ugu lahaayeen.

Thus both the daughters of Lot were with child by their father.

37 O o tii curaddii ahayd waxay dhashay wiil, oo waxay magiciisii u bixisay Moo'aab, isna waa reer Moo'aabka maanta joogo aabbahood.

The older bore a son, and named him Moab; he is the father of the Moabites to this day.

38 T ii yarayd iyana waxay dhashay wiil, oo waxay magiciisii u bixisay Bencammi: isna waa reer Cammoonka maanta jooga aabbahood.

The younger also bore a son and named him Ben-ammi; he is the father of the Ammonites to this day.
