1 W axaa jiray nin buka oo ah Laasaros reer Beytaniya ee joogay tuulada Maryan iyo walaasheed Maarta.
Now a certain man named Lazarus was ill. He was of Bethany, the village where Mary and her sister Martha lived.
2 M aryantaasu waxay ahayd tii Rabbiga cadar marisay oo cagihiisa timaheeda ku tirtirtay, oo walaalkeed Laasaros bukay.
This Mary was the one who anointed the Lord with perfume and wiped His feet with her hair. It was her brother Lazarus who was sick.
3 S idaa aawadeed walaalihii farriin bay Rabbiga u direen iyagoo leh, Sayidow, ogow, kii aad jeclayd waa bukaaye.
So the sisters sent to Him, saying, Lord, he whom You love is sick.
4 L aakiin Ciise markuu taas maqlay wuxuu yidhi, Bukaankanu kan dhimashada ma ahaa, laakiin waa ammaanta Ilaah aawadeed in Wiilka Ilaah lagu ammaano.
When Jesus received the message, He said, This sickness is not to end in death; but it is to honor God and to promote His glory, that the Son of God may be glorified through (by) it.
5 C iise ayaa jeclaa Maarta iyo walaasheed iyo Laasaros.
Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.
6 S idaa aawadeed markuu maqlay inuu buko, laba maalmood oo kale ayuu meeshuu joogay iska sii joogay.
Therefore when He heard that Lazarus was sick, He still stayed two days longer in the same place where He was.
7 M arkaas dabadeed ayuu xertii ku yidhi, Yahuudiya aan haddana tagno.
Then after that interval He said to His disciples, Let us go back again to Judea.
8 X ertii waxay ku yidhaahdeen, Macallimow, Yuhuuddu waxay haddana doonayeen inay ku dhagxiyaan, ma waxaad mar kale u kacaysaa meeshaas?
The disciples said to Him, Rabbi, the Jews only recently were intending and trying to stone You, and are You going back there again?
9 C iise ayaa ugu jawaabay, Maalintu miyaanay laba iyo toban saacadood ahayn? Qof hadduu maalinta socdo ma turunturoodo, waayo, wuxuu arkaa iftiinka dunidan.
Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? Anyone who walks about in the daytime does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world.
10 L aakiin qof hadduu habeenka socdo, wuu turunturoodaa, waayo, iftiinku kuma jiro isaga.
But if anyone walks about in the night, he does stumble, because there is no light in him.
11 W axyaalahaas ayuu ku hadlay, oo dabadeedto wuxuu ku yidhi iyaga, Saaxiibkeen Laasaros waa hurdaa, laakiin waan u tegayaa inaan soo toosiyo.
He said these things, and then added, Our friend Lazarus is at rest and sleeping; but I am going there that I may awaken him out of his sleep.
12 S idaa daraaddeed xertii waxay ku yidhaahdeen, Sayidow, hadduu hurdo wuu bogsanayaa.
The disciples answered, Lord, if he is sleeping, he will recover.
13 C iise wuxuu ka hadlayay dhimashadiisa, iyaguse waxay u maleeyeen inuu ka hadlayo nasashada hurdada.
However, Jesus had spoken of his death, but they thought that He referred to falling into a refreshing and natural sleep.
14 C iise haddaba ayaa bayaan ugu yidhi, Laasaros waa dhintay.
So then Jesus told them plainly, Lazarus is dead,
15 A nigu waa ku faraxsanahay aawadiin inaanan halkaas joogin si aad u rumaysataan, laakiin aan u tagno.
And for your sake I am glad that I was not there; it will help you to believe (to trust and rely on Me). However, let us go to him.
16 S idaa aawadeed Toomas, kii Didumos la odhan jiray, wuxuu ku yidhi xertii la socotay, Innaguna aan tagno si aynu ula dhimanno.
Then Thomas, who was called the Twin, said to his fellow disciples, Let us go too, that we may die along with Him.
17 H addaba markuu Ciise yimid wuxuu ogaaday inuu afar maalmood xabaasha ku jiray.
So when Jesus arrived, He found that he had already been in the tomb four days.
18 H addana Beytaniya waa u dhowayd Yeruusaalem, oo waxay u jirtay qiyaas shan iyo toban istaadiyon.
Bethany was near Jerusalem, only about two miles away,
19 Y uhuud badan waxay u yimaadeen Maarta iyo Maryan inay walaalkood uga tacsiyeeyaan.
And a considerable number of the Jews had gone out to see Martha and Mary to console them concerning their brother.
20 M aarta haddaba markay maqashay in Ciise imanayo, ayay ka hor tagtay, Maryanse gurigay iska fadhiday.
When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went to meet Him, while Mary remained sitting in the house.
21 M arkaasaa Maarta waxay Ciise ku tidhi, Sayidow, haddaad halkan joogtid, walaalkay ma uu dhinteen.
Martha then said to Jesus, Master, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.
22 H adda waxaan garanayaa in wax alla waxaad Ilaah weyddiisatid uu ku siinayo.
And even now I know that whatever You ask from God, He will grant it to You.
23 M arkaasaa Ciise wuxuu ku yidhi, Walaalkaa waa sara kici doonaa.
Jesus said to her, Your brother shall rise again.
24 M aartaa ku tidhi, Waan garanayaa inuu kici doono wakhtiga sarakicidda ee maalinta u dambaysa.
Martha replied, I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
25 C iise ayaa ku yidhi, Anigu waxaan ahay sarakicidda iyo nolosha. Kii i rumaystaa, in kastoo uu dhinto, wuu noolaan doonaa.
Jesus said to her, I am the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on) Me, although he may die, yet he shall live;
26 K ii kasta oo nool oo i rumaystaa weligii ma dhiman doono. Waxan ma rumaysan tahay?
And whoever continues to live and believes in (has faith in, cleaves to, and relies on) Me shall never die at all. Do you believe this?
27 W axay ku tidhi, Haah, Sayidow, waan rumaysnahay inaad tahay Masiixa oo ah Wiilka Ilaah ee dunida iman lahaa.
She said to Him, Yes, Lord, I have believed that You are the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One), the Son of God, Who was to come into the world.
28 M arkay taas tidhi, way tagtay oo hoos ahaan ugu soo yeedhay walaasheed Maryan, oo waxay ku tidhi, Macallinkii halkan buu joogaa, waana kuu yeedhayaa.
After she had said this, she went back and called her sister Mary, privately whispering to her, The Teacher is close at hand and is asking for you.
29 I yaduna kolkay maqashay, dhaqso bay u kacday oo u tagtay.
When she heard this, she sprang up quickly and went to Him.
30 C iise weli ma iman tuulada, laakiin wuxuu weli joogay meeshii Maarta kaga hor tagtay.
Now Jesus had not yet entered the village, but was still at the same spot where Martha had met Him.
31 H addaba Yuhuuddii iyada guriga la joogtay oo u tacsiyaynaysay, markay arkeen Maryan inay dhaqso u kacday oo baxday, ayay raaceen, iyagoo u malaynaya inay xabaashii tegayso inay meeshaas ku baroorato.
When the Jews who were sitting with her in the house and consoling her saw how hastily Mary had arisen and gone out, they followed her, supposing that she was going to the tomb to pour out her grief there.
32 H addaba Maryan markay timid meeshii Ciise joogay oo ay aragtay isaga, waxay ku dhacday cagihiisa iyadoo ku leh, Sayidow, haddaad halkan joogtid, walaalkay ma uu dhinteen.
When Mary came to the place where Jesus was and saw Him, she dropped down at His feet, saying to Him, Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.
33 C iise haddaba markuu arkay iyadoo barooranaysa, iyo Yuhuuddii la socotay oo la barooranaysa, ayuu ka qalbi xumaaday, wuuna murugooday.
When Jesus saw her sobbing, and the Jews who came with her sobbing, He was deeply moved in spirit and troubled.
34 M arkaasuu yidhi, Xaggee baad dhigteen? Waxay ku yidhaahdeen, Sayidow, kaalay oo arag.
And He said, Where have you laid him? They said to Him, Lord, come and see.
35 C iise waa ooyay.
Jesus wept.
36 S idaa daraaddeed Yuhuuddu waxay yidhaahdeen, Bal eega, siduu u jeclaa.
The Jews said, See how He loved him!
37 Q aarkoodse waxay yidhaahdeen, Ninkan oo indhaha u furay kii indha la'aa, miyuusan wax ka samayn karin inuusan ninkaasu dhiman?
But some of them said, Could not He Who opened a blind man’s eyes have prevented this man from dying?
38 S idaa daraaddeed Ciise oo mar kale qalbi xumaaday ayaa xabaashii yimid. Waxay ahayd god, dhagax baana saarnaa.
Now Jesus, again sighing repeatedly and deeply disquieted, approached the tomb. It was a cave (a hole in the rock), and a boulder lay against it.
39 C iise ayaa yidhi, Dhagaxa ka qaada. Maarta oo ahayd kii dhintay walaashiis, waxay ku tidhi, Sayidow, hadda wuu urayaa, waayo, afar maalmood buu mootanaa.
Jesus said, Take away the stone. Martha, the sister of the dead man, exclaimed, But Lord, by this time he throws off an offensive odor, for he has been dead four days!
40 C iise wuxuu ku yidhi, miyaanan kugu odhan, Haddaad rumaysatid, waxaad arki lahayd ammaanta Ilaah?
Jesus said to her, Did I not tell you and promise you that if you would believe and rely on Me, you would see the glory of God?
41 M arkaasay dhagaxii ka qaadeen. Ciisena indhihiisuu kor u taagay oo yidhi, Aabbow, waan kuugu mahadnaqayaa inaad i maqashay.
So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.
42 W aana ogaa inaad mar kasta i maqasho, laakiin dadkan badan oo hareerahayga taagan aawadood ayaan taas u idhi inay rumaystaan inaad adigu i soo dirtay.
Yes, I know You always hear and listen to Me, but I have said this on account of and for the benefit of the people standing around, so that they may believe that You did send Me.
43 M arkuu sidaas ku hadlay dabadeed wuxuu ku dhawaaqay cod weyn, Laasarosow, soo bax.
When He had said this, He shouted with a loud voice, Lazarus, come out!
44 M arkaasaa kii dhintay soo baxay, isagoo gacmaha iyo cagaha ay kafan kaga xidhan tahay, wejigana maro kaga xidhan tahay. Kolkaasuu Ciise wuxuu ku yidhi iyaga, Fura oo daaya, ha socdee. Wadaaddadii Sare Shirqool Bay Ciise U Dhigeen
And out walked the man who had been dead, his hands and feet wrapped in burial cloths (linen strips), and with a napkin bound around his face. Jesus said to them, Free him of the burial wrappings and let him go.
45 S idaa aawadeed qaar badan oo Yuhuuddii ah oo Maryan u yimid oo arkay wuxuu sameeyey ayaa rumaystay.
Upon seeing what Jesus had done, many of the Jews who had come with Mary believed in Him.
46 Q aarkoodse way u tageen Farrisiintii, oo waxay u sheegeen wuxuu Ciise sameeyey.
But some of them went back to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done.
47 S idaa aawadeed wadaaddadii sare iyo Farrisiintii shir bay isugu yimaadeen oo yidhaahdeen, Maxaynu samaynaa? Waayo, ninkanu calaamooyin badan buu sameeyeye.
So the chief priests and Pharisees called a meeting of the council (the Sanhedrin) and said, What are we to do? For this Man performs many signs (evidences, miracles).
48 H addaynu sidaa u dayno, dhammaan way rumaysan doonaan isaga, oo dadka Roomana way iman doonaan, oo waxay qaadan doonaan meesheenna iyo quruunteenna.
If we let Him alone to go on like this, everyone will believe in Him and adhere to Him, and the Romans will come and suppress and destroy and take away our place and our nation '> our temple and city and our civil organization].
49 M idkood Kayafas la odhan jiray, oo wadaadka sare ahaa sannaddaas, wuxuu iyagii ku yidhi, Waxba garan maysaan,
But one of them, Caiaphas, who was the high priest that year, declared, You know nothing at all!
50 o o ka fiirsan maysaan inay idiin roon tahay in nin keli ahu dadka u dhinto oo aan quruunta oo dhammu lumin.
Nor do you understand or reason out that it is expedient and better for your own welfare that one man should die on behalf of the people than that the whole nation should perish (be destroyed, ruined).
51 W axaas iskama odhan, laakiin isagoo ah wadaadka sare sannaddaas, wuxuu sii sheegay in Ciise quruunta u dhiman doono,
Now he did not say this simply of his own accord; but being the high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus was to die for the nation,
52 q uruuntii oo keliya uma aha, laakiin inuu mid keliya isugu soo ururiyo carruurtii Ilaah oo kala firidhsan.
And not only for the nation but also for the purpose of uniting into one body the children of God who have been scattered far and wide.
53 H addaba maalintaas wixii ka dambeeyey waxay ku tashadeen inay dilaan.
So from that day on they took counsel and plotted together how they might put Him to death.
54 S idaa daraaddeed mar dambe Ciise bayaan uma dhex marin Yuhuudda, wuuse ka tegey meeshaas, ilaa meel u dhowayd cidlada, ilaa magaalo la yidhaahdo Efrayim, halkaasuuna xertii la joogay.
For that reason Jesus no longer appeared publicly among the Jews, but left there and retired to the district that borders on the wilderness (the desert), to a village called Ephraim, and there He stayed with the disciples.
55 H adda Iidda Yuhuudda ee Kormaridda la yidhaahdaa waa dhowayd, kuwa badanna waxay u kaceen Yeruusaalem iyagoo dalka ka yimid Iiddii Kormaridda horteed inay isdaahiriyaan.
Now the Jewish Passover was at hand, and many from the country went up to Jerusalem in order that they might purify and consecrate themselves before the Passover.
56 S idaa daraaddeed ayay Ciise doondooneen, oo waxay isku yidhaahdeen, iyagoo macbudka dhex taagan, Maxay idinla tahay? Ma inuusan iidda imanaynin baa?
So they kept looking for Jesus and questioned among themselves as they were standing about in the temple '> area], What do you think? Will He not come to the Feast at all?
57 W adaaddadii sare iyo Farrisiintii waxay amar ku bixiyeen, Hadduu qof ogaado meeshuu joogo waa inuu sheego, ha la qabtee.
Now the chief priests and Pharisees had given orders that if anyone knew where He was, he should report it to them, so that they might arrest Him.
