1 M arkaasaa Bilaatos haddaba Ciise watay oo karbaashay,

So then Pilate took Jesus and scourged (flogged, whipped) Him.

2 a skartiina taaj ayay qodxan uga taxeen, oo madaxiisay saareen, oo waxay u geliyeen dhar guduudan.

And the soldiers, having twisted together a crown of thorns, put it on His head, and threw a purple cloak around Him.

3 M arkaasay u yimaadeen oo ku yidhaahdeen, Nabad Boqorka Yuhuuddow, wayna dharbaaxeen.

And they kept coming to Him and saying, Hail, King of the Jews! And they struck Him with the palms of their hands.

4 B ilaatos haddana dibadduu u baxay oo ku yidhi iyaga, Eega, isagaan idiin soo bixinayaa inaad ogaataan inaanan eed ku helin.

Then Pilate went out again and said to them, See, I bring Him out to you, so that you may know that I find no fault (crime, cause for accusation) in Him.

5 C iise haddaba ayaa dibadda u soo baxay isagoo sita taajkii qodxanta ahaa iyo dharkii guduudnaa, oo Bilaatos ayaa ku yidhi iyaga, Bal eega ninka.

So Jesus came out wearing the thorny crown and purple cloak, and Pilate said to them, See, the Man!

6 S idaa daraaddeed markii wadaaddadii sare iyo saraakiishii arkeen, ayay qayliyeen iyagoo leh, Iskutallaabta ku qodob, iskutallaabta ku qodob. Bilaatos ayaa ku yidhi, Idinku wata, oo iskutallaabta ku qodba, waayo, anigu eed kuma aan heline.

When the chief priests and attendants (guards) saw Him, they cried out, Crucify Him! Crucify Him! Pilate said to them, Take Him yourselves and crucify Him, for I find no fault (crime) in Him.

7 Y uhuuddii ayaa ugu jawaabtay, Sharci baannu leennahay, sharcigaas xaggiisana waa inuu dhinto, waayo, wuxuu iska dhigay Wiilka Ilaah.

The Jews answered him, We have a law, and according to that law He should die, because He has claimed and made Himself out to be the Son of God.

8 H addaba Bilaatos markuu hadalkaas maqlay, aad buu u sii baqay,

So, when Pilate heard this said, he was more alarmed and awestricken and afraid than before.

9 o o haddana wuxuu galay guriga taliyaha oo ku yidhi Ciise, Xaggee baad ka timid? Laakiin Ciise jawaabna uma uu celinin.

He went into the judgment hall again and said to Jesus, Where are You from? But Jesus did not answer him.

10 S idaa daraaddeed Bilaatos ayaa ku yidhi, Miyaanad ila hadlayn? Miyaanad ogayn inaan leeyahay amar aan kugu sii daayo iyo amar aan iskutallaabta kugu qodbo?

So Pilate said to Him, Will You not speak to me? Do You not know that I have power (authority) to release You and I have power to crucify You?

11 C iise ayaa ugu jawaabay, Amarna iguma aad lahaateen haddaan xagga sare lagaa siin. Sidaa daraaddeed kii ii soo kaa gacangeliyey ayaa kaa dembi weyn.

Jesus answered, You would not have any power or authority whatsoever against (over) Me if it were not given you from above. For this reason the sin and guilt of the one who delivered Me over to you is greater.

12 T aas dabadeed Bilaatos wuxuu doonayay inuu sii daayo, laakiin Yuhuuddii ayaa qaylisay iyagoo leh, Haddaad ninkan sii daysid, Kaysar saaxiibkiis ma ihid. Nin kasta oo boqor iska dhigaba, wuxuu ku caasiyaa Kaysar.

Upon this, Pilate wanted (sought, was anxious) to release Him, but the Jews kept shrieking, If you release this Man, you are no friend of Caesar! Anybody who makes himself a king sets himself up against Caesar!

13 H addaba Bilaatos markuu hadalladaas maqlay, ayuu Ciise dibadda u soo saaray, oo wuxuu ku fadhiistay kursiga xukumaadda, meesha la yidhaahdo Sallaxa Dhagaxa ah oo af Cibraanigana lagu yidhaahdo Gabbata.

Hearing this, Pilate brought Jesus out and sat down on the judgment seat at a place called the Pavement —in Hebrew, Gabbatha.

14 H addaba waxay ahayd Maalintii Diyaargarayskii Kormaridda, abbaaraha saacaddii lixaad. Oo wuxuu Yuhuudda ku yidhi, Bal eega boqorkiinna.

Now it was the day of Preparation for the Passover, and it was about the sixth hour (about twelve o’clock noon). He said to the Jews, See, your King!

15 S idaa daraaddeed waxay ku qayliyeen, Kaxee, kaxee, iskutallaabta ku qodob. Markaasaa Bilaatos wuxuu ku yidhi, Boqorkiinna miyaan iskutallaabta ku qodbaa? Wadaaddadii sare ayaa ugu jawaabay, Boqor ma lihin Kaysar maahee. Ciise Waa Lagu Qodbay Iskutallaabta

But they shouted, Away with Him! Away with Him! Crucify Him! Pilate said to them, Crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar!

16 M arkaasuu haddaba u dhiibay in iskutallaabta lagu qodbo.

Then he delivered Him over to them to be crucified.

17 W ayna kaxeeyeen Ciise. Markaas isagoo sita iskutallaabta ayuu u kacay meeshii Dhakada la yidhaahdo, oo af Cibraaniga lagu odhan jiray Golgota,

And they took Jesus and led away; so He went out, bearing His own cross, to the spot called The Place of the Skull—in Hebrew it is called Golgotha.

18 m eeshaasay iskutallaabaha ku qodbeen isaga iyo laba kale, midba gees, Ciisena dhexda.

There they crucified Him, and with Him two others—one on either side and Jesus between them.

19 B ilaatosna wax buu qoray oo ku dhejiyey iskutallaabta dusheeda, waxaana ku qorraa, CIISIHII REER NAASARED, BOQORKA YUHUUDDA.

And Pilate also wrote a title (an inscription on a placard) and put it on the cross. And the writing was: Jesus the Nazarene, the King of the Jews.

20 H addaba Yuhuudda badideed ayaa qorniinkaas akhriday, waayo, meeshii Ciise iskutallaabta lagaga qodbay waa u dhowayd magaalada, oo qorniinkii wuxuu ku qorraa af Cibraaniga iyo af Roomaaniga iyo af Gariigga.

And many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and it was written in Hebrew, in Latin, in Greek.

21 S idaa daraaddeed wadaaddadii sare oo Yuhuudda waxay Bilaatos ku yidhaahdeen, Ha qorin, Boqorka Yuhuudda, laakiin qor, Kanaa yidhi, Waxaan ahay Boqorka Yuhuudda.

Then the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, Do not write, The King of the Jews, but, He said, I am King of the Jews.

22 B ilaatos ayaa ugu jawaabay, Waxaan qoray ayaan qoray.

Pilate replied, What I have written, I have written.

23 H addaba askartii markay Ciise iskutallaabta ku qodbeen, dharkiisay qaateen oo ay afar meelood ka dhigeen, askari waliba meel buu qaatay, khamiiskiina way qaateen. Khamiiskii meella kama tollayn dusha iyo hoosta.

Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took His garments and made four parts, one share for each soldier, and also the tunic (the long shirtlike undergarment). But the tunic was seamless, woven from the top throughout.

24 S idaa daraaddeed waxay isku yidhaahdeen, Yeynan kala jeexin, laakiin aan u saami ridanno kii heli doona, inuu noqdo Qorniinka oo leh, Iyagu waxay qaybsadeen dharkaygii. Khamiiskaygiina way u saami riteen. Haddaba waxyaalahaas askartii baa samaysay.

So they said to one another, Let us not tear it, but let us cast lots to decide whose it shall be. This was to fulfill the Scripture, They parted My garments among them, and for My clothing they cast lots. So the soldiers did these things.

25 W axaa Ciise iskutallaabtiisa ag taagnaa hooyadiis, iyo habaryartiis, Maryan afadii Kaloobaas, iyo Maryan tii reer Magdala.

But by the cross of Jesus stood His mother, His mother’s sister, Mary the of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.

26 S idaa daraaddeed Ciise markuu arkay hooyadiis iyo kii xerta ahaa oo uu jeclaa oo ag taagan, ayuu hooyadiis ku yidhi, Islaan yahay, waa kaa wiilkaagii.

So Jesus, seeing His mother there, and the disciple whom He loved standing near, said to His mother, '> Dear] woman, See, your son!

27 M arkaasuu kii xerta ahaana ku yidhi, Waa taa hooyadaa. Oo saacaddaas dabadeed kii xerta ahaa ayaa gurigiisii u kaxeeyey. Ciise Waa Dhintay

Then He said to the disciple, See, your mother! And from that hour, the disciple took her into his own.

28 M arkaas dabadeed Ciise isagoo garanaya wax kasta inay dhammaadeen, in Qorniinku ahaado, ayuu yidhi, Waan harraadsanahay.

After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished (ended), said in fulfillment of the Scripture, I thirst.

29 M arkaas waxaa meeshaas yiil weel khal ka buuxo. Sidaa daraaddeed geed isbonji la yidhaahdo bay khalkii ka buuxiyeen, markaasay kor saareen geed husob la yidhaahdo oo afkiisa ku dhoweeyeen.

A vessel (jar) full of sour wine (vinegar) was placed there, so they put a sponge soaked in the sour wine on hyssop, and held it to mouth.

30 H addaba markii Ciise khalkii qaatay ayuu yidhi, Waa dhammaatay, markaasuu madaxa foororshay oo ruuxii bixiyey. Ciise Waa La Wareemay; Dabadeedna Waa La Aasay

When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, It is finished! And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.

31 S idaa daraaddeed Yuhuuddii, inaan meydadku sabtida iskutallaabaha sii saarnaan, waxay Bilaatos ka baryeen in lugaha laga jebiyo oo meydadka la qaado, waayo, waxay ahayd Maalintii Diyaargarayska, oo maalinta sabtidaas waxay ahayd maalin weyn.

Since it was the day of Preparation, in order to prevent the bodies from hanging on the cross on the Sabbath—for that Sabbath was a very solemn and important one—the Jews requested Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken away.

32 H addaba askartii waa timid, oo ay lugaha ka jebiyeen kii hore iyo kii kale oo iskutallaabaha lagula qodbay isaga.

So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first one, and of the other who had been crucified with Him.

33 L aakiin markay Ciise u yimaadeen oo ay arkeen inuu durba dhintay kama ay jebin lugihii.

But when they came to Jesus and they saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs.

34 L aakiin mid askartii ka mid ah ayaa dhinaca Ciise waran kaga wareemay, oo markiiba waxaa ka soo baxay dhiig iyo biyo.

But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came (flowed) out.

35 O o kii arkayna wuu marag furay, maraggiisuna waa run, wuuna garanayaa inuu run sheegayo, inaad idinkuna rumaysataan.

And he who saw it (the eyewitness) gives this evidence, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he tells the truth, that you may believe also.

36 W aayo, waxyaalahaas waxay u dhaceen inuu ahaado Qorniinka leh, Lafihiisa midna la jebin maayo.

For these things took place, that the Scripture might be fulfilled (verified, carried out), Not one of His bones shall be broken;

37 O o Qorniin kale wuxuu leeyahay, Way arki doonaan kii ay wareemeen.

And again another Scripture says, They shall look on Him Whom they have pierced.

38 W axyaalahaas dabadeed, Yuusuf kii ahaa reer Arimataya, isagoo xer u ah Ciise laakiinse si qarsoon cabsidii uu ka cabsaday Yuhuudda aawadeed, wuxuu Bilaatos ka baryay inuu meydka Ciise qaado. Bilaatosna waa u fasaxay. Sidaa daraaddeed wuu yimid oo meydkiisii qaaday.

And after this, Joseph of Arimathea—a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews—asked Pilate to let him take away the body of Jesus. And Pilate granted him permission. So he came and took away His body.

39 O o waxaa kaloo yimid Nikodemos kii markii hore habeennimada u yimid, wuxuuna keenay malmal iyo cuud isku qasan oo qiyaastii boqol rodol ah.

And Nicodemus also, who first had come to Jesus by night, came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds.

40 H addaba waxay qaadeen meydkii Ciise oo ku duudduubeen maryo iyo dhir udgoon siday caadada aasniinta Yuhuuddu ahayd.

So they took Jesus’ body and bound it in linen cloths with the spices (aromatics), as is the Jews’ customary way to prepare for burial.

41 M eeshii isaga iskutallaabta lagu qodbay waxaa ku tiil beer, beerta dhexdeedana waxaa ku tiil xabaal cusub oo aan ninna weli la dhigin.

Now there was a garden in the place where He was crucified, and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had ever been laid.

42 H addaba Maalintii Diyaargarayska oo Yuhuudda aawadeed ayay meeshaas Ciise u dhigeen, waayo, xabaashii waa dhowayd.

So there, because of the Jewish day of Preparation since the tomb was near by, they laid Jesus.
