Now these are the generations of Aaron and Moses when the Lord spoke with Moses on Mount Sinai.

2 O o kuwanu waa wiilashii Haaruun magacyadoodii, Naadaab oo curadkii ahaa, iyo Abiihuu, iyo Elecaasaar, iyo Iitaamaar.

These are the names of the sons of Aaron: Nadab the firstborn, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

3 K uwaasu waa wiilashii Haaruun magacyadoodii, oo waa wadaaddadii la subkay oo uu gooni uga dhigay inay adeegaan shuqulka wadaadnimada.

These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the priests who were anointed, whom Aaron consecrated and ordained to minister in the priest’s office.

4 N aadaab iyo Abiihuu waxay ku dhinteen Rabbiga hortiisa, markay dab qalaad ku bixiyeen Rabbiga hortiisa iyagoo cidlada Siinay jooga, oo iyagu carruurna ma ay lahayn. Markaasay Elecaasaar iyo Iitaamaar shuqulkii wadaadnimada kaga adeegi jireen aabbahood Haaruun hortiisa.

But Nadab and Abihu died before the Lord when they offered strange fire before the Lord in the Wilderness of Sinai; and they had no children. So Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest’s office in the presence and under the supervision of Aaron their father.

5 K olkaasaa Rabbigu Muuse la hadlay oo wuxuu ku yidhi,

And the Lord said to Moses,

6 Q abiilka reer Laawi soo dhowee oo wadaadka Haaruun hortiisa keen inay isaga u adeegaan.

Bring the tribe of Levi near and set them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister to him.

7 O o iyagu waa inay amarkiisa iyo amarka shirka oo dhan ku yeelaan teendhada shirka horteeda si ay hawsha taambuugga u sameeyaan.

And they shall carry out his instructions and the duties connected with the whole assembly before the Tent of Meeting, doing the service of the tabernacle.

8 O o waa inay dhawraan alaabta teendhada shirka oo dhan, iyo amarka reer binu Israa'iil, si ay hawsha taambuugga u sameeyaan.

And they shall keep all the instruments and furnishings of the Tent of Meeting and take charge of the Israelites, to serve in the tabernacle.

9 O o adigu waa inaad reer Laawi siisaa Haaruun iyo wiilashiisaba, oo iyaga dhammaantood waa la siiyey reer binu Israa'iil aawadood.

And you shall give the Levites to Aaron and his sons; they are wholly given to him from among the Israelites.

10 O o waa inaad Haaruun iyo wiilashiisa doorataa, oo iyagu waa inay dhawraan wadaadnimadooda, oo shisheeyihii u soo dhowaadana waa in la dilaa.

And you shall appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall observe and attend to their priest’s office; but the excluded who comes near shall be put to death.

11 M arkaasaa Rabbigu Muuse la hadlay oo wuxuu ku yidhi,

And the Lord said to Moses,

12 O o bal eeg, anna waxaan reer Laawi kala dhex baxay reer binu Israa'iil intii aan ka qaadan lahaa curadyada reer binu Israa'iil ee maxalka furta oo dhan, oo reer Laawi waxay ahaanayaan kuwaygii,

Behold, I have taken the Levites from among the Israelites instead of every firstborn who opens the womb among the Israelites; and the Levites shall be Mine,

13 w aayo, curadyada oo dhan anigaa iska leh. Maalintii aan curadyadii Masar oo dhan wada laayay ayaan quduus ka wada dhigtay curadyada reer binu Israa'iil, dad iyo duunyoba, oo iyagu kuwaygay ahaanayaan, waayo, aniga ayaa Rabbiga ah.

For all the firstborn are Mine. On the day that I slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, I consecrated for Myself all the firstborn in Israel, both man and beast; Mine they shall be. I am the Lord.

14 O o haddana Rabbigu wuxuu Muuse kula hadlay cidlada Siinay, oo wuxuu ku yidhi,

And the Lord said to Moses in the Wilderness of Sinai,

15 R eer Laawi oo dhan u soo wada tiri reer reer iyo qolo qolo. Nin kasta oo bil jira ama ka sii weyn waa inaad tirisaa.

Number the sons of Levi by their fathers’ houses and by families. Every male from a month old and upward you shall number.

16 M arkaasaa Muuse iyagii u tiriyey sidii eraygii Rabbigu ahaa oo uu isaga ugu amray.

So Moses numbered them as he was commanded by the word of the Lord.

17 K uwanu waxay ahaayeen wiilashii Laawi magacyadoodii: Gershoon, iyo Qohaad, iyo Meraarii.

These were the sons of Levi by their names: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

18 O o kuwanuna waa magacyadii wiilashii Gershoon siday qolooyinkoodu yihiin, Libnii iyo Shimcii.

And these are the names of the sons of Gershon by their families: Libni and Shimei.

19 O o wiilashii Qohaad siday qolooyinkoodu yihiin waa Camraam, iyo Isehaar, iyo Xebroon, iyo Cusii'eel.

The sons of Kohath by their families: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.

20 O o wiilashii Meraariina siday qolooyinkoodu yihiin waa Maxlii iyo Mushii, kuwanu waa qolooyinkii reer Laawi siday reerahoodu yihiin.

The sons of Merari by their families: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites by their fathers’ houses.

21 O o Gershoon waxaa ka soo farcamay reer Libnii iyo reer Shimcii, kuwaasu waa qolooyinkii reer Gershoon.

Of Gershon were the families of the Libnites and of the Shimeites. These are the families of the Gershonites.

22 O o kuwii iyaga laga tiriyey siday ahayd tiradii kuwii lab ahaa oo dhan, intii bil jirtay ama ka sii weynayd, kulli intoodii la tiriyey waxay ahaayeen toddoba kun iyo shan boqol.

The males who were numbered of them from a month old and upward totaled 7, 500.

23 O o reer Gershoon qolooyinkoodii waa inay taambuugga dabadiisa xagga galbeedka teendhooyinkooda ka dhistaan.

The families of the Gershonites were to encamp behind the tabernacle on the west,

24 O o amiirka reer Gershoonna waa inuu ahaadaa Eliyaasaaf ina Laa'eel.

The leader of the fathers’ houses of the Gershonites being Eliasaph son of Lael.

25 O o reer Gershoonna waa inay teendhada shirka ugu taliyaan taambuuga, iyo Teendhada, iyo dedkeeda, iyo daaha iridda teendhada shirka,

And the responsibility of the sons of Gershon in the Tent of Meeting was to be the tabernacle, the tent, its covering, and the hangings for the door of the Tent of Meeting,

26 i yo barxadda daahyadeeda, iyo daaha iridda barxadda oo taambuugga iyo meesha allabariga ku wareegsan iyo xadhkihii hawsha lagu qabto oo dhan.

And the hangings of the court, the curtain for the door of the court which is around the tabernacle and the altar, its cords, and all the service pertaining to them.

27 O o Qohaadna waxaa ka soo farcamay reer Camraam, iyo reer Isehaar, iyo reer Xebroon, iyo reer Cusii'eel; kuwaasu waa qolooyinkii reer Qohaad.

Of Kohath were the families of the Amramites, the Izharites, the Hebronites, and the Uzzielites; these are the families of the Kohathites.

28 S iday ahayd tiradii kuwii lab ahaa oo dhan intii bil jirtay ama ka sii weynayd waxay ahaayeen siddeed kun iyo lix boqol, oo waxay u taliyeen meesha quduuska ah.

The number of all the males from a month old and upward totaled 8, 600, attending to the duties of the sanctuary.

29 O o qolooyinka reer Qohaad waa inay taambuugga dhankiisa koonfureed teendhooyinkooda ka dhistaan.

The families of the sons of Kohath were to encamp on the south side of the tabernacle,

30 O o amiirka reer Qohaadna waa inuu ahaadaa Eliisaafaan ina Cusii'eel.

The chief of the fathers’ houses of the families of the Kohathites being Elizaphan son of Uzziel.

31 O o iyana waxay u talin doonaan sanduuqa, iyo miiska, iyo laambadda, iyo meelaha allabariga, iyo weelasha meesha quduuska ah oo ay ku adeegaan, iyo daaha, iyo hawsha oo dhan.

Their charge was to be the ark, the table, the lampstand, the altars, and the utensils of the sanctuary with which the priests minister, and the screen, and all the service having to do with these.

32 O o Elecaasaar ina wadaadka Haaruun waa inuu ahaadaa amiirka amiirrada reer Laawi, oo wuxuu korka ka ilaalin doonaa kuwa u taliya meesha quduuska ah.

Eleazar son of Aaron the priest was to be chief over the leaders of the Levites, and have the oversight of those who had charge of the sanctuary.

33 O o Meraariina waxaa ka soo farcamay reer Maxlii iyo reer Mushii, kuwaasu waa qolooyinkii reer Meraarii.

Of Merari were the families of the Mahlites and the Mushites; these are the families of Merari.

34 O o kuwoodii loo tiriyey siday ahayd tiradii kuwii labka ahaa oo dhan, intii bil jirtay ama ka sii weynayd, waxay ahaayeen lix kun iyo laba boqol.

Their number of all the males from a month old and upward totaled 6, 200.

35 O o qabiilka reer Meraarii amiirkoodii wuxuu ahaa Surii'eel ina Abiixayil, oo iyana waa inay taambuugga dhankiisa woqooyi teendhooyinkooda ka dhistaan.

And the head of the fathers’ houses of the families of Merari was Zuriel son of Abihail; the Merarites were to encamp on the north side of the tabernacle.

36 O o reer Meraarii waxaa loo amray inay u taliyaan taambuugga looxyadiisa, iyo ulihiisa gudban, iyo tiirarkiisa, iyo saldhigyadiisa, iyo alaabtiisa oo dhan, iyo hawshiisa oo dhan,

And the appointed charge of the sons of Merari was the boards or frames of the tabernacle, and its bars, pillars, sockets or bases, and all the accessories or instruments of it, and all the work connected with them,

37 i yo tiirarka barxadda ku wareegsanna, iyo saldhigyadooda, iyo musaamiirtooda iyo xadhkahooda.

And the pillars of the surrounding court and their sockets or bases, with their pegs and their cords.

38 O o kuwa teendhooyinkooda ka dhistaa taambuugga xaggiisa bari iyo teendhada shirka horteeda xagga qorrax ka soo baxa waa inay ahaadaan Muuse iyo Haaruun iyo wiilashiisa, oo waxay reer binu Israa'iil ugu talinayaan meesha quduuska ah; oo shisheeyaha u soo dhowaadana waa in la dilaa.

But those to encamp before the tabernacle toward the east, before the Tent of Meeting, toward the sunrise, were to be Moses and Aaron and his sons, keeping the full charge of the rites of the sanctuary in whatever was required for the Israelites; and the excluded who came near was to be put to death.

39 O o kulli intii reer Laawi ah ee la tiriyey, oo Muuse iyo Haaruun ay qolo qolo ugu tiriyeen amarkii Rabbiga, kuwii lab ahaa oo dhan oo bil jiray ama ka sii weynaa, waxay ahaayeen laba iyo labaatan kun.

All the Levites whom Moses and Aaron numbered at the command of the Lord, by their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were 22, 000.

40 M arkaasaa Rabbigu wuxuu Muuse ku yidhi, Tiri curadyada labka ah oo reer binu Israa'iil oo dhan, intii bil jirta ama ka sii weyn, oo magacyadooda ku soo xisaab.

And the Lord said to Moses, Number all the firstborn of the males of the Israelites from a month old and upward, and take the number of their names.

41 O o waa inaad ii qaaddaa reer Laawi intii aad ii qaadi lahayd curadyada reer binu Israa'iil oo dhan, oo waa inaad xoolaha reer Laawina ii qaaddaa intii aad ii qaadi lahayd curadyada xoolaha reer binu Israa'iil oo dhan, waayo, aniga ayaa Rabbiga ah.

You shall take the Levites for Me instead of all the firstborn among the Israelites. I am the Lord; and you shall take the cattle of the Levites for Me instead of all the firstlings among the cattle of the Israelites.

42 M arkaasaa Muuse curadyadii reer binu Israa'iil oo dhan u tiriyey sidii Rabbigu ugu amray.

So Moses numbered, as the Lord commanded him, all the firstborn Israelites.

43 O o curadyadii labka ahaa oo dhammu, sidii tirada magacyadoodu ahayd, intii bil jirtay ama ka sii weynayd, kuwii iyaga laga soo tiriyey waxay ahaayeen laba iyo labaatan kun iyo laba boqol iyo saddex iyo toddobaatan.

But all the firstborn males from a month old and upward as numbered were 22, 273.

44 M arkaasaa Rabbigu Muuse la hadlay, oo wuxuu ku yidhi,

And the Lord said to Moses,

45 R eer Laawi ii qaad intii aad ii qaadi lahayd curadyada reer binu Israa'iil oo dhan, oo xoolaha reer Laawina ii qaad intii aad ii qaadi lahayd xoolaha reer binu Israa'iil, oo reer Laawi kuwaygay ahaanayaan, waayo, aniga ayaa Rabbiga ah.

Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn Israelites, and the Levites’ cattle instead of their cattle; and the Levites shall be Mine. I am the Lord.

46 O o labada boqol iyo saddex iyo toddobaatanka curad oo reer binu Israa'iil oo ka sii badan reer Laawi,

And for those 273 who are to be redeemed of the firstborn of the Israelites who outnumber the Levites,

47 m adaxtiriskiiba waxaad iigu madax furataa shan sheqel oo le'eg sheqelka meesha quduuska ah. (Sheqelku waa labaatan geeraah.)

You shall take five shekels apiece, reckoning by the sanctuary shekel of twenty gerahs; you shall collect them,

48 O o tiradooda dheeraadka ah lacagta lagu madax furtay waa inaad Haaruun iyo wiilashiisa siisaa.

And you shall give the ransom silver from the excess number to be redeemed to Aaron and his sons.

49 M arkaasaa Muuse lacagtii ka qaaday kuwii ka sii badnaa kuwii lagu madax furtay reer Laawi.

So Moses took the redemption money from those who were left over from the number who were redeemed by the Levites.

50 O o curadyadii reer binu Israa'iil ayuu ka qaaday lacagtii, oo ahayd kun iyo saddex boqol iyo shan iyo lixdan sheqel oo le'eg sheqelka meesha quduuska ah.

From the firstborn of the Israelites he took the money, 1, 365 shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary.

51 O o Muuse lacagtii madaxfurashada ahayd wuxuu u dhiibay Haaruun iyo wiilashiisii, siduu ahaa eraygii Rabbigu Muuse ku amray.

And Moses gave the money from those who were ransomed to Aaron and his sons, as the Lord commanded Moses.
