1 Y uusufna waxaa la keenay Masar. Kuwii reer Ismaaciil oo isaga halkaas geeyeyna waxaa gacantoodii ka iibsaday nin Masri ahaa oo la odhan jiray Footiifar, oo Fircoon sirkaal u ahaa, oo madaxii waardiyayaasha ahaa.

And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, the captain and chief executioner of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had brought him down there.

2 R abbiguna waa la jiray Yuusuf, wuxuuna ahaa nin liibaansan, wuxuuna joogi jiray gurigii sayidkiisii Masriga ahaa.

But the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful and prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.

3 S ayidkiisiina wuu arkay in Rabbigu liibaaniyey wixii uu sameeyey oo dhan.

And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all that he did to flourish and succeed in his hand.

4 I saguna raalli buu Yuusuf ka ahaa, Yuusufna waa u adeegi jiray, oo wuxuu isagii ka dhigay kan gurigiisa u sarreeya, wixii uu haystay oo dhanna gacantiisuu wada geliyey.

So Joseph pleased and found favor in his sight, and he served him. And made him supervisor over his house and he put all that he had in his charge.

5 O o waxay noqotay in wakhtigii uu ka dhigay kan u sarreeya gurigiisa iyo wixii uu haystay oo dhan, uu Rabbigu gurigii kii Masriga ahaa u barakeeyey Yuusuf aawadiis, wixii uu guriga iyo beertaba ku haystay oo dhanna barakada Rabbigaa saarnayd.

From the time that he made him supervisor in his house and over all that he had, the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the Lord’s blessing was on all that he had in the house and in the field.

6 W ixii uu lahaa oo dhanna Yuusuf gacantiisuu kaga tegey. Waxbana kama ogayn wixii uu hayay, wixii uu cuni jiray mooyaane. Yuusufna aad buu u quruxsanaa, wuuna suurad wanaagsanaa.

And left all that he had in Joseph’s charge and paid no attention to anything he had except the food he ate. Now Joseph was an attractive person and fine-looking.

7 O o waxay noqotay waxyaalahaas ka dib in naagtii sayidkiisu ay fiirisay Yuusuf, oo ay ku tidhi, Kaalay ila jiifso.

Then after a time his master’s wife cast her eyes upon Joseph, and she said, Lie with me.

8 L aakiinse wuu diiday, oo wuxuu ku yidhi naagtii sayidkiisa, Bal eeg, sayidkaygu waxba kama oga waxa aan guriga ku hayo; wixiisii oo dhanna gacantayduu wada geliyey;

But he refused and said to his master’s wife, See here, with me in the house my master has concern about nothing; he has put all that he has in my care.

9 o o weliba gurigan mid aniga iga weynu ma joogo, oo isaguna waxba igalama hadhin adiga mooyaane, maxaa yeelay, adigu waxaad tahay naagtiisii, de haddaba sidee baan u samayn karaa xumaantan weyn, oo aan Ilaah ugu dembaabaa?

He is not greater in this house than I am; nor has he kept anything from me except you, for you are his wife. How then can I do this great evil and sin against God?

10 O o waxay noqotay, in kastoo ay maalinba maalinta ka dambaysa la hadlaysay Yuusuf, inuu maqli waayay inuu la jiifsado ama uu la joogo iyadii.

She spoke to Joseph day after day, but he did not listen to her, to lie with her or to be with her.

11 O o waxay noqotay haddaa oo kale, inuu gurigii galay inuu shuqulkiisii qabsado, nimankii gurigana midna gudaha ma joogin.

Then it happened about this time that Joseph went into the house to attend to his duties, and none of the men of the house were indoors.

12 K olkaasay qabsatay dharkiisii, oo waxay ku tidhi, Ila jiifso. Isaguse dharkiisii gacanteeduu kaga tegey, wuuna cararay oo baxay.

And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me! But he left his garment in her hand and fled and got out.

13 M arkay aragtay inuu dharkiisii gacanteeda kaga tegey, oo uu dibadda u cararay,

And when she saw that he had left his garment in her hand and had fled away,

14 a yay u yeedhay raggii gurigeeda oo ay la hadashay, oo waxay ku tidhi, Bal eega, ninkaygu wuxuu inoo keenay nin Cibraani ah inuu inagu majaajiloodo. Wuxuu iigu soo galay inuu ila jiifsado aawadeed, markaasaan cod dheer ku qayliyey,

She called to the men of her household and said to them, Behold, he has brought in a Hebrew to us to mock and insult us; he came in where I was to lie with me, and I screamed at the top of my voice.

15 o o markuu maqlay inaan codkaygii sare u qaaday oo aan qayliyey ayuu dharkiisii iiga tegey, wuuna cararay oo baxay.

And when he heard me screaming and crying, he left his garment with me and fled and got out of the house.

16 D harkiisiina way is-ag dhigtay ilaa uu sayidkiisii guriga yimid.

And she laid up his garment by her until his master came home.

17 K olkaasay hadalkan kula hadashay isagii, oo waxay ku tidhi, Addoonkii Cibraaniga ahaa, oo aad inoo keentay, ayaa iigu soo galay inuu igu majaajiloodo,

Then she told him the same story, saying, The Hebrew servant whom you brought among us came to me to mock and insult me.

18 o o markaan codkaygii sare u qaaday oo aan qayliyey ayuu dharkiisii iiga tegey, oo uu dibadda u cararay.

And when I screamed and cried, he left his garment with me and fled out.

19 M arkii sayidkiisii maqlay hadalkii naagtiisa, oo ay kula hadashay isaga, iyadoo leh, Addoonkaagii sidan buu igu sameeyey, ayuu cadhooday.

And when master heard the words of his wife, saying to him, This is the way your servant treated me, his wrath was kindled.

20 M arkaasaa Yuusuf sayidkiisii qabtay isagii, oo wuxuu geliyey xabsigii ahaa meeshii maxaabiista boqorku ku xidhnaayeen; oo isna halkaasuu ku jiray xabsigii gudihiisa.

And Joseph’s master took him and put him in the prison, a place where the state prisoners were confined; so he was there in the prison.

21 L aakiinse Yuusuf waxaa la jiray Rabbiga, wuuna u roonaaday, kii xabsiga hayayna raalli buu uga dhigay.

But the Lord was with Joseph, and showed him mercy and loving-kindness and gave him favor in the sight of the warden of the prison.

22 K ii xabsiga hayayna wuxuu Yuusuf gacanta u geliyey maxaabiistii xabsiga ku jirtay oo dhan; oo wax kastoo ay halkaas ku sameeyeenna, wuxuu ahaa kii sameeyey.

And the warden of the prison committed to Joseph’s care all the prisoners who were in the prison; and whatsoever was done there, he was in charge of it.

23 K ii xabsiga hayayna ma uu eegi jirin waxa isaga gacantiisa ku jira, maxaa yeelay, Rabbigaa la jiray isaga, wixii uu sameeyeyna Rabbigu waa liibaaniyey.

The prison warden paid no attention to anything that was in charge, for the Lord was with him and made whatever he did to prosper.
