1 K uwanu waa erayadii Aaguur ina Yaaqeh, oo ahaa reer Masaa. Ninku wuxuu la hadlay Iitii'eel, iyo xataa Iitii'eel iyo Ukaal, oo ku yidhi,
The words of Agur son of Jakeh of Massa: The man says to Ithiel, to Ithiel and to Ucal:
2 H ubaal anigu waan ka doqonnimo weynahay nin kastaba, Oo dad waxgarashadiisana ma lihi.
Surely I am too brutish and stupid to be called a man, and I have not the understanding of a man.
3 X igmad ma aan baran, Aqoonta Kan quduuska ahna ma aqaan.
I have not learned skillful and godly Wisdom, that I should have the knowledge or burden of the Holy One.
4 Y aa samada u baxay, oo ka soo degay? Yaa dabaysha gacmihiisa ku soo ururshay? Yaa biyaha dharkiisa ku guntay? Yaa dhulka darafyadiisa oo dhan dhisay? Magicii, wiilkiisana magicii, haddaad taqaan?
Who has ascended into heaven and descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has bound the waters in His garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name, and what is His Son’s name, if you know?
5 E ray kasta oo Ilaah waa daahir; Oo isagu wuxuu gaashaan u yahay kuwa isaga aaminsan.
Every word of God is tried and purified; He is a shield to those who trust and take refuge in Him.
6 E rayadiisa waxba ha ku darin, Waaba intaas oo uu ku canaantaa, oo lagu ogaadaa inaad beenaaleh tahay.
Add not to His words, lest He reprove you, and you be found a liar.
7 L aba waxyaalood ayaan ku weyddiistay, Iyaga ha ii diidin intaanan dhiman.
Two things have I asked of You; deny them not to me before I die:
8 W ax aan waxtar lahayn iyo been iga fogee, Oo caydhnimo iyo taajirnimo midna ha i siin. Igu quudi cunto aanan ka maarmin,
Remove far from me falsehood and lies; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that is needful for me,
9 W aaba intaasoo intaan dhergo, aan adiga ku inkiraaye, oo aan idhaahdaa, Waa ayo Rabbigu? Amase waaba intaasoo aan miskiin noqdaa, oo intaan wax xado, Aan magaca Ilaahayga si been ah ugu hadal qaadaaye.
Lest I be full and deny You and say, Who is the Lord? Or lest I be poor and steal, and so profane the name of my God.
10 A ddoon sayidkiisa xan ha uga sheegin, Waaba intaas oo uu ku habaaraa, oo eed lagugu helaaye.
Do not accuse and hurt a servant before his master, lest he curse you, and you be held guilty.
11 W axaa jira farcan aabbahood inkaara, Oo aan hooyadoodna u ducayn.
There is a class of people who curse their fathers and do not bless their mothers.
12 W axaa jira farcan isla daahirsan, Oo weliba aan nijaastoodii ka maydhmin.
There is a class of people who are pure in their own eyes, and yet are not washed from their own filth.
13 W axaa jira farcan indhahoodu aad u sarreeyaan! Oo daboolka indhahoodana kor bay u qaadaan.
There is a class of people—oh, how lofty are their eyes and their raised eyelids!
14 W axaa jira farcan ilkahoodu sida seefo oo kale yihiin, oo gowsahooduna sida mindiyo oo kale yihiin, Si ay masaakiinta dhulka uga baabbi'iyaan, oo ay kuwa baahanna dadka dhexdiisa uga dhammeeyaan.
There is a class of people whose teeth are as swords and whose fangs as knives, to devour the poor from the earth and the needy from among men.
15 C ulaacushu waxay leedahay laba gabdhood, oo leh, Na sii, Na sii. Waxaa jira saddex waxyaalood oo aan weligood dhergin, Haah, oo afar aan odhan, Bes, nagu filan;
The leech has two daughters, crying, Give, give! There are three things that are never satisfied, yes, four that do not say, It is enough:
16 W axaana weeye qabriga, iyo maxalka aan wax dhalayn, Iyo dhulka aan biyo ka dhergayn, Iyo dabka aan odhan, Bes, igu filan.
Sheol (the place of the dead), the barren womb, the earth that is not satisfied with water, and the fire that says not, It is enough.
17 I sha aabbaheed ku majaajiloota, Oo quudhsata inay hooyadeed addeecdo, Waxaa la soo bixi doona tukayaasha dooxada, Oo waxaa cuni doona gorgorrada.
The eye that mocks a father and scorns to obey a mother, the ravens of the valley will pick it out, and the young vultures will devour it.
18 W axaa jira saddex waxyaalood oo anigu aan aad ula yaabo, Haah, afar baan garan waayay,
There are three things which are too wonderful for me, yes, four which I do not understand:
19 O o iyana waxaa weeye siduu gorgor hawada u duulo, Siduu masna dhagax ugu socdo, Siday doonnina badda u maaxdo, Iyo siduu nin gabadh ula macaamiloodo.
The way of an eagle in the air, the way of a serpent upon a rock, the way of a ship in the midst of the sea, and the way of a man with a maid.
20 S idaas oo kale waxaa ah naag dhillo ah sideeda, Taasoo intay wax cunto afka tirtirta, Oo haddana tidhaahda, Anigu waxba xumaan ma aan samayn.
This is the way of an adulterous woman: she eats and wipes her mouth and says, I have done no wickedness.
21 S addex waxyaalood ayaa dhulku la gariiraa, Oo afar baanu qaadan karin,
Under three things the earth is disquieted, and under four it cannot bear up:
22 W axaana weeye addoon markuu boqor noqdo, Iyo nacas markuu cunto ka dhergo,
Under a servant when he reigns, a fool when he is filled with food,
23 I yo naag la nacay markay guursato, Iyo gabadh addoon ahu markay sayidaddeedii meesheeda gasho.
An unloved and repugnant woman when she is married, and a maidservant when she supplants her mistress.
24 W axaa jira afar waxyaalood oo dhulka ku yaryar, Laakiinse aad iyo aad u caqli badan.
There are four things which are little on the earth, but they are exceedingly wise:
25 Q udhaanjadu waa sida dad aan xoog badnayn, Laakiinse waxay cuntadooda soo diyaarsadaan guga.
The ants are a people not strong, yet they lay up their food in the summer;
26 W alooyinku waa qoon taagdaran, Oo haddana waxay guryahooda ka samaystaan dhagaxyada dhexdooda;
The conies are but a feeble folk, yet they make their houses in the rocks;
27 A yaxu boqor ma leh, Weliba dhammaantood guuto guuto ayay u socdaan.
The locusts have no king, yet they go forth all of them by bands;
28 Q orratadu waa wax gacanta lagu qaban karo, Weliba waxay joogtaa guryaha boqorrada.
The lizard you can seize with your hands, yet it is in kings’ palaces.
29 W axaa jira saddex waxyaalood oo si fiican u socda, Haah, oo afar waa socod wanaagsan yihiin.
There are three things which are stately in step, yes, four which are stately in their stride:
30 A ar libaax oo ah kan xayawaanka ugu xoogga badan, Oo aan weliba midna dib uga noqon,
The lion, which is mightiest among beasts and turns not back before any;
31 D iiqa xarragoonaya, iyo orgiga; Iyo boqorka aanay dadku gees ka ahayn.
The war horse, the male goat also, and the king against whom there is no uprising.
32 H addaad nacasnimo samaysay adoo isa sarraysiinaya, Ama aad wax shar ah ka fikirtay, Gacanta afka saar.
If you have done foolishly in exalting yourself, or if you have thought evil, lay your hand upon your mouth.
33 W aayo, caanihii la lulaa subag bay soo saaraan, Sankii la maroojiyaana dhiig buu keenaa, Sidaas oo kalena cadhadii la qasbaa dirir bay keentaa.
Surely the churning of milk brings forth butter, and the wringing of the nose brings forth blood; so the forcing of wrath brings forth strife.
