1 И было ко мне слово Господне:

The word of the Lord came to me again, saying,

2 з ачем вы употребляете в земле Израилевой эту пословицу, говоря: 'отцы ели кислый виноград, а у детей на зубах оскомина'?

What do you mean by using this proverb concerning the land of Israel, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge?

3 Ж иву Я! говорит Господь Бог, --не будут вперед говорить пословицу эту в Израиле.

As I live, says the Lord God, you shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel.

4 И бо вот, все души--Мои: как душа отца, так и душа сына--Мои: душа согрешающая, та умрет.

Behold, all souls are Mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is Mine; the soul that sins, it shall die.

5 Е сли кто праведен и творит суд и правду,

But if a man is righteous (upright and in right standing with God) and does what is lawful and right,

6 н а горах жертвенного не ест и к идолам дома Израилева не обращает глаз своих, жены ближнего своего не оскверняет и к своей жене во время очищения нечистот ее не приближается,

And has not eaten upon the mountains nor lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, has not defiled his neighbor’s wife nor come near to a woman in her time of impurity,

7 н икого не притесняет, должнику возвращает залог его, хищения не производит, хлеб свой дает голодному и нагого покрывает одеждою,

And has not wronged anyone but has restored to the debtor his pledge, has taken nothing by robbery but has given his bread to the hungry and has covered the naked with a garment,

8 в рост не отдает и лихвы не берет, от неправды удерживает руку свою, суд человеку с человеком производит правильный,

Who does not charge interest or percentage of increase on what he lends, who withholds his hand from iniquity, who executes true justice between man and man,

9 п оступает по заповедям Моим и соблюдает постановления Мои искренно: то он праведник, он непременно будет жив, говорит Господь Бог.

Who has walked in My statutes and kept My ordinances, to deal justly; he is righteous; he shall surely live, says the Lord God.

10 Н о если у него родился сын разбойник, проливающий кровь, и делает что-нибудь из всего того,

If he begets a son who is a robber or a shedder of blood, who does to a brother either of these sins of violence,

11 ч его он сам не делал совсем, и на горах ест жертвенное, и жену ближнего своего оскверняет,

And leaves undone all of the duties, and has even eaten on the mountains and defiled his neighbor’s wife,

12 б едного и нищего притесняет, насильно отнимает, залога не возвращает, и к идолам обращает глаза свои, делает мерзость,

Has wronged the poor and needy, has taken by robbery, has not restored his pledge, has lifted up his eyes to the idols, has committed abomination (things hateful and exceedingly vile in the eyes of God),

13 в рост дает, и берет лихву; то будет ли он жив?, он не будет жив. Кто делает все такие мерзости, тот непременно умрет, кровь его будет на нем.

And has charged interest or percentage of increase on what he has loaned; shall he then live? He shall not live! He has done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him.

14 Н о если у кого родился сын, который, видя все грехи отца своего, какие он делает, видит и не делает подобного им:

But if this wicked man begets a son who sees all the sins which his father has committed, and considers and fears and does not do like his father,

15 н а горах жертвенного не ест, к идолам дома Израилева не обращает глаз своих, жены ближнего своего не оскверняет,

Who has not eaten upon the mountains nor has lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, has not defiled his neighbor’s wife,

16 и человека не притесняет, залога не берет, и насильно не отнимает, хлеб свой дает голодному, и нагого покрывает одеждою,

Nor wronged anyone, nor has taken anything in pledge, nor has taken by robbery but has given his bread to the hungry and has covered the naked with a garment,

17 о т бедному удерживает руку свою, роста и лихвы не берет, исполняет Мои повеления и поступает по заповедям Моим, --то сей не умрет за беззаконие отца своего; он будет жив.

Who has withdrawn his hand from the poor, who has not received interest or increase but has executed My ordinances and has walked in My statutes; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father; he shall surely live.

18 А отец его, так как он жестоко притеснял, грабил брата и недоброе делал среди народа своего, вот, он умрет за свое беззаконие.

As for his father, because he cruelly oppressed, robbed his brother, and did that which is not good among his people, behold, he shall die for his iniquity and guilt.

19 В ы говорите: 'почему же сын не несет вины отца своего?' Потому что сын поступает законно и праведно, все уставы Мои соблюдает и исполняет их; он будет жив.

Yet do you say, Why does not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son has done that which is lawful and right and has kept all My statutes and has done them, he shall surely live.

20 Д уша согрешающая, она умрет; сын не понесет вины отца, и отец не понесет вины сына, правда праведного при нем и остается, и беззаконие беззаконного при нем и остается.

The soul that sins, it shall die. The son shall not bear and be punished for the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear and be punished for the iniquity of the son; the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him only, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon the wicked only.

21 И беззаконник, если обратится от всех грехов своих, какие делал, и будет соблюдать все уставы Мои и поступать законно и праведно, жив будет, не умрет.

But if the wicked man turns from all his sins that he has committed and keeps all My statutes and does that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die.

22 В се преступления его, какие делал он, не припомнятся ему: в правде своей, которую будет делать, он жив будет.

None of his transgressions which he has committed shall be remembered against him; for his righteousness which he has executed, he shall live.

23 Р азве Я хочу смерти беззаконника? говорит Господь Бог. Не того ли, чтобы он обратился от путей своих и был жив?

Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked? says the Lord, and not rather that he should turn from his evil way and return and live?

24 И праведник, если отступит от правды своей и будет поступать неправедно, будет делать все те мерзости, какие делает беззаконник, будет ли он жив? все добрые дела его, какие он делал, не припомнятся; за беззаконие свое, какое делает, и за грехи свои, в каких грешен, он умрет.

But if the righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? None of his righteous deeds which he has done shall be remembered. In his trespass that he has trespassed and in his sin that he has sinned, in them shall he die.

25 Н о вы говорите: 'неправ путь Господа!' Послушайте, дом Израилев! Мой ли путь неправ? не ваши ли пути неправы?

Yet you say, The way of the Lord is not fair and just. Hear now, O house of Israel: Is not My way fair and just? Are not your ways unfair and unjust?

26 Е сли праведник отступает от правды своей и делает беззаконие и за то умирает, то он умирает за беззаконие свое, которое сделал.

When a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity and dies in his sins, for his iniquity that he has done he shall die.

27 И беззаконник, если обращается от беззакония своего, какое делал, и творит суд и правду, --к жизни возвратит душу свою.

Again, when the wicked man turns away from his wickedness which he has committed and does that which is lawful and right, he shall save his life.

28 И бо он увидел и обратился от всех преступлений своих, какие делал; он будет жив, не умрет.

Because he considers and turns away from all his transgressions which he has committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die.

29 А дом Израилев говорит: 'неправ путь Господа!' Мои ли пути неправы, дом Израилев? не ваши ли пути неправы?

Yet says the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not fair and just! O house of Israel, are not My ways fair and just? Are not your ways unfair and unjust?

30 П осему Я буду судить вас, дом Израилев, каждого по путям его, говорит Господь Бог; покайтесь и обратитесь от всех преступлений ваших, чтобы нечестие не было вам преткновением.

Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, says the Lord God. Repent and turn from all your transgressions, lest iniquity be your ruin and so shall they not be a stumbling block to you.

31 О твергните от себя все грехи ваши, которыми согрешали вы, и сотворите себе новое сердце и новый дух; и зачем вам умирать, дом Израилев?

Cast away from you all your transgressions by which you have transgressed against Me, and make you a new mind and heart and a new spirit. For why will you die, O house of Israel?

32 И бо Я не хочу смерти умирающего, говорит Господь Бог; но обратитесь, и живите!

For I have no pleasure in the death of him who dies, says the Lord God. Therefore turn (be converted) and live!
