1 У слышали Апостолы и братия, бывшие в Иудее, что и язычники приняли слово Божие.

Now the apostles (special messengers) and the brethren who were throughout Judea heard that the Gentiles (heathen) also had received and accepted and welcomed the Word of God.

2 И когда Петр пришел в Иерусалим, обрезанные упрекали его,

So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcision party found fault with him,

3 г оворя: ты ходил к людям необрезанным и ел с ними.

Saying, Why did you go to uncircumcised men and eat with them?

4 П етр же начал пересказывать им по порядку, говоря:

But Peter began and narrated and explained to them step by step. He said:

5 в городе Иоппии я молился, и в исступлении видел видение: сходил некоторый сосуд, как бы большое полотно, за четыре угла спускаемое с неба, и спустилось ко мне.

I was in the town of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision of something coming down from heaven, like a huge sheet lowered by the four corners; and it descended until it came to me.

6 Я посмотрел в него и, рассматривая, увидел четвероногих земных, зверей, пресмыкающихся и птиц небесных.

Gazing intently and closely at it, I observed in it four-footed animals and wild beasts and reptiles of the earth and birds of the air,

7 И услышал я голос, говорящий мне: встань, Петр, заколи и ешь.

And I heard a voice saying to me, Get up, Peter; kill and eat.

8 Я же сказал: нет, Господи, ничего скверного или нечистого никогда не входило в уста мои.

But I said, No, by no means, Lord; for nothing common or unhallowed or unclean has ever entered my mouth.

9 И отвечал мне голос вторично с неба: что Бог очистил, того ты не почитай нечистым.

But the voice answered a second time from heaven, What God has cleansed and pronounced clean, do not you defile and profane by regarding or calling it common or unhallowed or unclean.

10 Э то было трижды, и опять поднялось всё на небо.

This occurred three times, and then all was drawn up again into heaven.

11 И вот, в тот самый час три человека стали перед домом, в котором я был, посланные из Кесарии ко мне.

And right then the three men sent to me from Caesarea arrived at the house in which we were.

12 Д ух сказал мне, чтобы я шел с ними, нимало не сомневаясь. Пошли со мною и сии шесть братьев, и мы пришли в дом человека.

And the Spirit instructed me to accompany them without hesitation or misgivings or discrimination. So these six brethren accompanied me also, and we went into the man’s house.

13 О н рассказал нам, как он видел в доме своем Ангела (святого), который стал и сказал ему: пошли в Иоппию людей и призови Симона, называемого Петром;

And he related to us how he had seen the angel in his house which stood and said to him, Send men to Joppa and bring Simon who is surnamed Peter;

14 о н скажет тебе слова, которыми спасешься ты и весь дом твой.

He will give and explain to you a message by means of which you and all your household will be saved '> from eternal death].

15 К огда же начал я говорить, сошел на них Дух Святый, как и на нас вначале.

When I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them just as He did on us at the beginning.

16 Т огда вспомнил я слово Господа, как Он говорил: 'Иоанн крестил водою, а вы будете крещены Духом Святым'.

Then I recalled the declaration of the Lord, how He said, John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with ( be placed in, introduced into) the Holy Spirit.

17 И так, если Бог дал им такой же дар, как и нам, уверовавшим в Господа Иисуса Христа, то кто же я, чтобы мог воспрепятствовать Богу?

If then God gave to them the same Gift as He gave to us when we believed in (adhered to, trusted in, and relied on) the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I and what power or authority had I to interfere or hinder or forbid or withstand God?

18 В ыслушав это, они успокоились и прославили Бога, говоря: видно, и язычникам дал Бог покаяние в жизнь.

When they heard this, they were quieted and made no further objection. And they glorified God, saying, Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance unto life.

19 М ежду тем рассеявшиеся от гонения, бывшего после Стефана, прошли до Финикии и Кипра и Антиохии, никому не проповедуя слово, кроме Иудеев.

Meanwhile those who were scattered because of the persecution that arose in connection with Stephen had traveled as far away as Phoenicia and Cyprus and Antioch, without delivering the message '> the attainment through Christ of salvation in the kingdom of God] to anyone except Jews.

20 Б ыли же некоторые из них Кипряне и Киринейцы, которые, придя в Антиохию, говорили Еллинам, благовествуя Господа Иисуса.

But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who on returning to Antioch spoke to the Greeks also, proclaiming the good news (the Gospel) about the Lord Jesus.

21 И была рука Господня с ними, и великое число, уверовав, обратилось к Господу.

And the presence of the Lord was with them with power, so that a great number to believe (to adhere to and trust in and rely on the Lord) and turned and surrendered themselves to Him.

22 Д ошел слух о сем до церкви Иерусалимской, и поручили Варнаве идти в Антиохию.

The rumors of this came to the ears of the church (assembly) in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch.

23 О н, прибыв и увидев благодать Божию, возрадовался и убеждал всех держаться Господа искренним сердцем;

When he arrived and saw what grace (favor) God was bestowing upon them, he was full of joy; and he continuously exhorted (warned, urged, and encouraged) them all to cleave unto and remain faithful to and devoted to the Lord with purpose of heart.

24 и бо он был муж добрый и исполненный Духа Святаго и веры. И приложилось довольно народа к Господу.

For he was a good man '> good in himself and also at once for the good and the advantage of other people], full of and controlled by the Holy Spirit and full of faith (of his belief that Jesus is the Messiah, through Whom we obtain eternal salvation). And a large company was added to the Lord.

25 П отом Варнава пошел в Тарс искать Савла и, найдя его, привел в Антиохию.

went on to Tarsus to hunt for Saul.

26 Ц елый год собирались они в церкви и учили немалое число людей, и ученики в Антиохии в первый раз стали называться Христианами.

And when he had found him, he brought him back to Antioch. For a whole year they assembled together with and were guests of the church and instructed a large number of people; and in Antioch the disciples were first called Christians.

27 В те дни пришли из Иерусалима в Антиохию пророки.

And during these days prophets (inspired teachers and interpreters of the divine will and purpose) came down from Jerusalem to Antioch.

28 И один из них, по имени Агав, встав, предвозвестил Духом, что по всей вселенной будет великий голод, который и был при кесаре Клавдии.

And one of them named Agabus stood up and prophesied through the Spirit that a great and severe famine would come upon the whole world. And this did occur during the reign of Claudius.

29 Т огда ученики положили, каждый по достатку своему, послать пособие братьям, живущим в Иудее,

So the disciples resolved to send relief, each according to his individual ability, to the brethren who lived in Judea.

30 ч то и сделали, послав к пресвитерам через Варнаву и Савла.

And so they did, sending to the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.
