1 И апостолите и братята, които бяха в Юдея, чуха, че и езичниците приели Божието слово.

Now the apostles (special messengers) and the brethren who were throughout Judea heard that the Gentiles (heathen) also had received and accepted and welcomed the Word of God.

2 И когато Петър влезе в Йерусалим, онези, които бяха от обрязаните, го укоряваха, като казваха:

So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcision party found fault with him,

3 П ри необрязани човеци си влизал и си ял с тях.

Saying, Why did you go to uncircumcised men and eat with them?

4 А Петър започна и им изложи подред станалото, като им каза:

But Peter began and narrated and explained to them step by step. He said:

5 А з бях в молитва в град Йопия и отнесен духом, видях видение: един съд като голямо платнище слизаше, спускано за четирите краища от небето, и стигна дори до мене.

I was in the town of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision of something coming down from heaven, like a huge sheet lowered by the four corners; and it descended until it came to me.

6 В него, като се вгледах и разсъждавах, видях земните четирикраки, зверове и влечуги, и небесни птици.

Gazing intently and closely at it, I observed in it four-footed animals and wild beasts and reptiles of the earth and birds of the air,

7 Ч ух още и глас, който ми каза: Стани, Петре, заколи и яж.

And I heard a voice saying to me, Get up, Peter; kill and eat.

8 Н о аз казах: В никакъв случай, Господи, защото никога не е влизало в устата ми нещо мръсно или нечисто.

But I said, No, by no means, Lord; for nothing common or unhallowed or unclean has ever entered my mouth.

9 О баче отново глас от небето отвърна: Което Бог е очистил, ти не го смятай за мръсно.

But the voice answered a second time from heaven, What God has cleansed and pronounced clean, do not you defile and profane by regarding or calling it common or unhallowed or unclean.

10 Т ова стана три пъти, след което всичко се отдръпна пак на небето.

This occurred three times, and then all was drawn up again into heaven.

11 И ето, в същия час трима човеци, изпратени от Цезарея до мене, пристигнаха пред къщата, в която бяхме.

And right then the three men sent to me from Caesarea arrived at the house in which we were.

12 И Духът ми каза да отида с тях и никак да не правя разлика между човеците, а с мене дойдоха и тези шестима братя и влязохме в къщата на човека.

And the Spirit instructed me to accompany them without hesitation or misgivings or discrimination. So these six brethren accompanied me also, and we went into the man’s house.

13 И той ни разказа как видял ангела да стои в къщата му и да казва: Прати хора в Йопия да повикат Симон, когото наричат Петър;

And he related to us how he had seen the angel in his house which stood and said to him, Send men to Joppa and bring Simon who is surnamed Peter;

14 т ой ще ти каже думи, чрез които ще се спасиш ти и целият ти дом.

He will give and explain to you a message by means of which you and all your household will be saved '> from eternal death].

15 И когато започнах да говоря, Святият Дух слезе на тях, както и на нас отначало.

When I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them just as He did on us at the beginning.

16 Т огава си спомних думите на Господа как каза: Йоан е кръщавал с вода, а вие ще бъдете кръстени със Святия Дух.

Then I recalled the declaration of the Lord, how He said, John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with ( be placed in, introduced into) the Holy Spirit.

17 И така, ако Бог даде същия дар и на тях, когато повярваха в Господ Исус Христос, както и на нас, кой бях аз, че да попреча на Бога?

If then God gave to them the same Gift as He gave to us when we believed in (adhered to, trusted in, and relied on) the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I and what power or authority had I to interfere or hinder or forbid or withstand God?

18 К ато чуха това, те престанаха да възразяват и славеха Бога, като казваха: И на езичниците Бог даде покаяние за живот. Църквата в Антиохия

When they heard this, they were quieted and made no further objection. And they glorified God, saying, Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance unto life.

19 А в онези дни разпръснатите от гонението, което стана при убийството на Стефан, пътуваха до Финикия, Кипър и Антиохия, като на никой друг не възвестяваха словото, освен на юдеите.

Meanwhile those who were scattered because of the persecution that arose in connection with Stephen had traveled as far away as Phoenicia and Cyprus and Antioch, without delivering the message '> the attainment through Christ of salvation in the kingdom of God] to anyone except Jews.

20 О баче между тях имаше някои кипърци и киринейци, които, като пристигнаха в Антиохия, говореха и на гърците, като благовестяваха Господ Исус.

But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who on returning to Antioch spoke to the Greeks also, proclaiming the good news (the Gospel) about the Lord Jesus.

21 Г осподнята ръка беше с тях и голям брой хора повярваха и се обърнаха към Господа.

And the presence of the Lord was with them with power, so that a great number to believe (to adhere to and trust in and rely on the Lord) and turned and surrendered themselves to Him.

22 И стигна известие за тях до ушите на църквата в Йерусалим; и те изпратиха Варнава в Антиохия,

The rumors of this came to the ears of the church (assembly) in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch.

23 к ойто, като дойде и видя делото на Божията благодат, зарадва се и увещаваше всички да постоянстват в Господа с непоколебимо сърце.

When he arrived and saw what grace (favor) God was bestowing upon them, he was full of joy; and he continuously exhorted (warned, urged, and encouraged) them all to cleave unto and remain faithful to and devoted to the Lord with purpose of heart.

24 П онеже той беше добър човек, пълен със Святия Дух и с вяра; и значително множество се прибави към Господа.

For he was a good man '> good in himself and also at once for the good and the advantage of other people], full of and controlled by the Holy Spirit and full of faith (of his belief that Jesus is the Messiah, through Whom we obtain eternal salvation). And a large company was added to the Lord.

25 Т огава той отиде в Тарс да търси Савел;

went on to Tarsus to hunt for Saul.

26 и като го намери, доведе го в Антиохия; и като се събираха в църквата цяла година, поучаваха значително множество. И първо в Антиохия учениците се нарекоха християни.

And when he had found him, he brought him back to Antioch. For a whole year they assembled together with and were guests of the church and instructed a large number of people; and in Antioch the disciples were first called Christians.

27 И през тези дни слязоха пророци от Йерусалим в Антиохия,

And during these days prophets (inspired teachers and interpreters of the divine will and purpose) came down from Jerusalem to Antioch.

28 е дин от които, на име Агав, стана и обяви чрез Духа, че ще настане голям глад по цялата земя; какъвто и стана в дните на Клавдий.

And one of them named Agabus stood up and prophesied through the Spirit that a great and severe famine would come upon the whole world. And this did occur during the reign of Claudius.

29 З атова учениците наредиха да изпратят, всеки според състоянието си, помощ на братята, които живееха в Юдея;

So the disciples resolved to send relief, each according to his individual ability, to the brethren who lived in Judea.

30 к оето и направиха; и я изпратиха до презвитерите чрез ръката на Варнава и Савел.

And so they did, sending to the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.
