1 Т огава първосвещеникът каза: Вярно ли е това?

And the high priest asked, Are these charges true?

2 А той каза: Братя и бащи, слушайте: Бог на славата се яви на отца ни Авраам, когато беше в Месопотамия, преди да се засели в Харан, и му каза:

And he answered, Brethren and fathers, listen to me! The God of glory appeared to our forefather Abraham when he was still in Mesopotamia, before he live in Haran,

3 " Излез от отечеството си и изсред рода си и иди в земята, която ще ти покажа."

And He said to him, Leave your own country and your relatives and come into the land (region) that I will point out to you.

4 Т огава той излезе от халдейската земя и се засели в Харан. И оттам, след смъртта на баща му, Бог го пресели в тази земя, в която вие сега живеете.

So then he went forth from the land of the Chaldeans and settled in Haran. And from there, after his father died, transferred him to this country in which you are now dwelling.

5 И не му даде наследство нито педя земя, а обеща да я даде за притежание на него и на потомството му след него, когато той още нямаше дете.

Yet He gave him no inheritable property in it, not even enough ground to set his foot on; but He promised that He would give it to Him for a permanent possession and to his descendants after him, even though he had no child.

6 И Бог му говорѝ, че неговите потомци щяха да бъдат преселени в чужда земя, където щяха да ги поробят и притесняват четиристотин години.

And this is what God told him: That his descendants would be aliens (strangers) in a land belonging to other people, who would bring them into bondage and ill-treat them 400 years.

7 Н о Аз, каза Бог, ще съдя народа, на който ще робуват; и след това ще излязат и ще Ми служат на това място.

But I will judge the nation to whom they will be slaves, said God, and after that they will escape and come forth and worship Me in this place.

8 И му даде в завет обрязването; и така от Авраам се роди Исаак и го обряза в осмия ден; от Исак се роди Яков, а от Яков - дванадесетте патриарси.

And made with Abraham a covenant (an agreement to be religiously observed) of which circumcision was the seal. And under these circumstances became the father of Isaac and circumcised him on the eighth day; and Isaac when he became the father of Jacob, and Jacob, the twelve patriarchs.

9 А патриарсите завидяха на Йосиф и го продадоха в Египет; обаче Бог беше с него

And the patriarchs, boiling with envy and hatred and anger, sold Joseph into slavery in Egypt; but God was with him,

10 и го избави от всичките му беди, и му даде благоволение и мъдрост пред египетския цар - Фараон, който го постави управител над Египет и над целия си дом.

And delivered him from all his distressing afflictions and won him goodwill and favor and wisdom and understanding in the sight of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, who made him governor over Egypt and all his house.

11 И настана глад по цялата Египетска и Ханаанска земя и голямо бедствие; и бащите ни не намираха прехрана.

Then there came a famine over all of Egypt and Canaan, with great distress, and our forefathers could find no fodder or vegetable sustenance.

12 А Яков, като чу, че имало жито в Египет, изпрати първо бащите ни;

But when Jacob heard that there was grain in Egypt, he sent forth our forefathers first trip.

13 и на втория път Йосиф се откри на братята си и родът на Йосиф стана известен на Фараон.

And on their second visit Joseph revealed himself to his brothers, and the family of Joseph became known to Pharaoh and his origin and race.

14 Й осиф прати да повикат баща му Яков и целия му род, седемдесет и пет души.

And Joseph sent an invitation calling to himself Jacob his father and all his kindred, seventy-five persons in all.

15 И така, Яков слезе в Египет, където умря, той и бащите ни;

And Jacob went down into Egypt, where he himself died, as did our forefathers;

16 и ги пренесоха в Сихем и ги положиха в гроба в Сихем, който Авраам беше купил с пари в сребро от синовете на Емор.

And their bodies were taken back to Shechem and laid in the tomb which Abraham had purchased for a sum of money from the sons of Hamor in Shechem.

17 А като наближаваше времето да се изпълни обещанието, което Бог беше дал с клетва на Авраам, народът беше нараснал и се беше умножил в Египет,

But as the time for the fulfillment of the promise drew near which God had made to Abraham, the people increased and multiplied in Egypt,

18 д окато се издигна друг цар над Египет, който не познаваше Йосиф.

Until there arose over Egypt another and a different king who did not know Joseph.

19 Т ой постъпваше коварно против нашия род и дотолкова притесняваше бащите ни, че да хвърлят децата си, за да не остават живи.

He dealt treacherously with and defrauded our race; he abused and oppressed our forefathers, forcing them to expose their babies so that they might not be kept alive.

20 В това време се роди Моисей, който беше прекрасно дете и когото храниха три месеца в бащиния му дом.

At this juncture Moses was born, and was exceedingly beautiful in God’s sight. For three months he was nurtured in his father’s house;

21 И когато го подхвърлиха, Фараоновата дъщеря го взе и го отхрани за свой син.

Then when he was exposed, the daughter of Pharaoh rescued him and took him and reared him as her own son.

22 И Моисей беше научен на цялата египетска мъдрост и беше силен в слово и дело.

So Moses was educated in all the wisdom and culture of the Egyptians, and he was mighty (powerful) in his speech and deeds.

23 А като навършваше четиридесетата си година, дойде му на сърце да посети братята си, израелтяните.

And when he was in his fortieth year, it came into his heart to visit his kinsmen the children of Israel '> to help them and to care for them].

24 И като видя да онеправдават един от тях, защити го и отмъсти за потискания, като уби египтянина,

And on seeing one of them being unjustly treated, he defended the oppressed man and avenged him by striking down the Egyptian and slaying.

25 к ато мислеше, че братята му ще разберат, че Бог чрез неговата ръка им дава избавление; но те не разбраха.

He expected his brethren to understand that God was granting them deliverance by his hand; but they did not understand.

26 Н а следващия ден той се появи, когато двама от тях се биеха, и като искаше да ги помири, каза: Хора, вие сте братя; защо си вредите един на друг?

Then on the next day he suddenly appeared to some who were quarreling and fighting among themselves, and he urged them to make peace and become reconciled, saying, Men, you are brethren; why do you abuse and wrong one another?

27 А този, който онеправдаваше ближния си, отблъсна Моисей и каза: Кой те е поставил началник и съдия над нас?

Whereupon the man who was abusing his neighbor pushed aside, saying, Who appointed you a ruler (umpire) and a judge over us?

28 И мене ли искаш да убиеш, както уби вчера египтянина?

Do you intend to slay me as you slew the Egyptian yesterday?

29 П оради тази дума Моисей побегна и стана пришълец в Мадиамската земя, където му се родиха двама сина.

At that reply Moses sought safety by flight and he was an exile and an alien in the country of Midian, where he became the father of two sons.

30 И като се навършиха четиридесет години, яви му се ангел от Господа в пустинята на Синайската планина, всред пламъка на един горящ бодлив храст.

And when forty years had gone by, there appeared to him in the wilderness (desert) of Mount Sinai an angel, in the flame of a burning bramblebush.

31 А Моисей, като видя гледката, се почуди; но когато се приближаваше да разгледа, дойде глас от Господа:

When Moses saw it, he was astonished and marveled at the sight; but when he went close to investigate, there came to him the voice of the Lord, saying,

32 " Аз съм Бог на бащите ти, Бог Авраамов, Исааков и Яковов." И Моисей се разтрепери и не смееше да погледне.

I am the God of your forefathers, the God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob. And Moses trembled and was so terrified that he did not venture to look.

33 И Господ му каза: "Събуй обувките от краката си, защото мястото, на което стоиш, е свята земя.

Then the Lord said to him, Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy ground and worthy of veneration.

34 В идях страданието на народа Ми, който е в Египет, чух стенанието им и слязох, за да ги избавя. И сега ела, и ще те изпратя в Египет."

Because I have most assuredly seen the abuse and oppression of My people in Egypt and have heard their sighing and groaning, I have come down to rescue them. So, now come! I will send you back to Egypt.

35 Т ози Моисей, когото бяха отказали да приемат, като му казаха: Кой те постави началник и съдия? Него Бог чрез ръката на ангела, който му се яви в бодливия храст, изпрати и за началник, и за избавител.

It was this very Moses whom they had denied (disowned and rejected), saying, Who made you our ruler (referee) and judge? whom God sent to be a ruler and deliverer and redeemer, by and with the hand of the Angel that appeared to him in the bramblebush.

36 Т ой ги изведе, като вършѝ чудеса и знамения в Египет, в Червено море и в пустинята през тези четиридесет години.

He it was who led them forth, having worked wonders and signs in Egypt and at the Red Sea and during the forty years in the wilderness (desert).

37 Т ози е същият Моисей, който каза на израелтяните: "Бог ще ви издигне от братята ви Пророк, както издигна и мене."

It was this Moses who said to the children of Israel, God will raise up for you a Prophet from among your brethren as He raised me up.

38 Т ова е онзи, който е бил сред събранието в пустинята заедно с ангела, който му говореше на Синайската планина, както и с бащите ни, който и прие животворни думи, да ги предаде на нас;

This is he who in the assembly in the wilderness (desert) was the go-between for the Angel who spoke to him on Mount Sinai and our forefathers, and he received living oracles (words that still live) to be handed down to us.

39 к огото нашите бащи не искаха да послушат, но го отхвърлиха и в сърцата си се върнаха назад в Египет,

our forefathers determined not to be subject to him; but thrusting him aside they rejected him, and in their hearts yearned for and turned back to Egypt.

40 к ато казаха на Аарон: "Направѝ ни богове, които да ходят пред нас, защото този Моисей, който ни изведе от Египетската земя, не знаем какво му стана."

And they said to Aaron, Make us gods who shall go before us; as for this Moses who led us forth from the land of Egypt—we have no knowledge of what has happened to him.

41 И през онези дни те си направиха теле и принесоха жертва на идола, и се веселиха с това, което техните ръце бяха направили.

And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice to the idol and made merry and exulted in the work of their hands.

42 З атова Бог се отвърна от тях и ги предаде да служат на небесното войнство, както е писано в книгата на пророците: "Доме Израелев, на Мене ли принасяхте заклани животни и жертви четиридесет години в пустинята?

But God turned and delivered them up to worship and serve the host (stars) of heaven, as it is written in the book of the prophets: Did you offer to Me slain beasts and sacrifices for forty years in the wilderness (desert), O house of Israel?

43 Н апротив, носехте скинията на Молох и звездата на бога Рефан, изображенията, които си направихте, за да им се кланяте; затова ще ви преселя оттатък Вавилон."

You took up the tent (the portable temple) of Moloch and carried it, and the star of the god Rephan, the images which you made that you might worship them; and I will remove you beyond Babylon.

44 С кинията на свидетелството беше с бащите ни в пустинята, според както заповяда Онзи, Който каза на Моисей да я направи по образеца, който бе видял;

Our forefathers had the tent (tabernacle) of witness in the wilderness, even as He Who directed Moses to make it had ordered, according to the pattern and model he had seen.

45 к оято нашите бащи по реда си приеха и внесоха с Исус Навин във владенията на народите, които Бог изгони пред нашите бащи; и така стоеше до дните на Давид,

Our forefathers in turn brought it in with Joshua when they dispossessed the nations which God drove out before the face of our forefathers. until the time of David,

46 к ойто придоби Божието благоволение и поиска да намери обиталище за Якововия Бог.

Who found grace (favor and spiritual blessing) in the sight of God and prayed that he might be allowed to find a dwelling place for the God of Jacob.

47 А Соломон Му построи дом.

But it was Solomon who built a house for Him.

48 Н о Всевишният не обитава в ръкотворни храмове, както казва пророкът:

However, the Most High does not dwell in houses and temples made with hands; as the prophet says,

49 " Небето Ми е престол. А земята е Мое подножие. Какъв дом ще построите за Мене - казва Господ, - или какво е мястото за Моя покой?

Heaven My throne, and earth the footstool for My feet. What house can you build for Me, says the Lord, or what is the place in which I can rest?

50 Н е направи ли Моята ръка всичко това?"

Was it not My hand that made all these things?

51 Т върдоглави и с необрязано сърце и уши! Вие винаги се противите на Святия Дух; както правеха бащите ви, така правите и вие.

You stubborn and stiff-necked people, still heathen and uncircumcised in heart and ears, you are always actively resisting the Holy Spirit. As your forefathers, so you!

52 К ого от пророците не гониха бащите ви? А при това и избиха онези, които предизвестиха за идването на Този Праведник, на Когото вие сега станахте предатели и убийци,

Which of the prophets did your forefathers not persecute? And they slew those who proclaimed beforehand the coming of the Righteous One, Whom you now have betrayed and murdered—

53 в ие, които приехте закона чрез ангелско служение и не го опазихте. Убиването на Стефан с камъни

You who received the Law as it was ordained and set in order and delivered by angels, and you did not obey it!

54 А като слушаха това, сърцата им се късаха от яд и те скърцаха със зъби към него.

Now upon hearing these things, they were cut to the heart and infuriated, and they ground their teeth against.

55 А Стефан, изпълнен със Святия Дух, погледна към небето и видя Божията слава и Исус, стоящ отдясно на Бога;

But he, full of the Holy Spirit and controlled by Him, gazed into heaven and saw the glory (the splendor and majesty) of God, and Jesus standing at God’s right hand;

56 и каза: Ето, виждам небесата отворени и Човешкия Син, Който стои отдясно на Бога.

And he said, Look! I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing at God’s right hand!

57 Н о те, като изкрещяха със силен глас, запушиха си ушите и като един се нахвърлиха върху него.

But they raised a great shout and put their hands over their ears and rushed together upon him.

58 И като го изтласкаха вън от града, хвърляха камъни по него. И свидетелите сложиха дрехите си при краката на един млад мъж на име Савел.

Then they dragged him out of the city and began to stone him, and the witnesses placed their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul.

59 И хвърляха камъни върху Стефан, който призоваваше Христа с думите: Господи Исусе, приеми духа ми.

And while they were stoning Stephen, he prayed, Lord Jesus, receive and accept and welcome my spirit!

60 И като коленичи, извика със силен глас: Господи, не им зачитай този грях. И като каза това, заспа.

And falling on his knees, he cried out loudly, Lord, fix not this sin upon them! And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
