1 С ловото, което дойде към Йеремия от Господа и каза:

The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord:

2 С лушайте думите на този завет и говорете на Юдовите мъже и йерусалимските жители; и ти да им кажеш:

Hear the words of this covenant or solemn pledge, and speak to the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

3 Т ака казва Господ, Израелевият Бог: Проклет онзи човек, който не слуша думите на този завет,

Say to them, Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: Cursed is the man who does not heed the words of this covenant or solemn pledge

4 к ойто заповядах на бащите ви в деня, когато ги изведох от Египетската земя, от железарската пещ, и казах: Слушайте гласа Ми и изпълнявайте тези думи според всичко, което съм ви заповядал; и така вие ще бъдете Мой народ и Аз ще бъда ваш Бог,

Which I commanded your fathers at the time that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Listen to My voice and do according to all that I command you. So will you be My people, and I will be your God,

5 з а да изпълня клетвата, с която се клех на бащите ви, да им дам земя, която изобилства с мляко и мед, както я изпълнявам днес. Тогава отговорих: Амин, Господи!

That I may perform the oath which I swore to your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is this day. Then I answered, Amen (so be it), O Lord.

6 И Господ ми каза: Възгласи всички тези думи в Юдовите градове и по йерусалимските улици, като кажеш: Слушайте думите на този завет и ги изпълнявайте.

And the Lord said to me, Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem: Hear the words of this covenant or solemn pledge and do them.

7 З ащото изрично заявявах пред бащите ви в деня, когато ги изведох от Египетската земя, дори до днес, като ставах рано и заявявах: Слушайте гласа Ми.

For I earnestly protested to and warned your fathers at the time that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, even to this day, protesting to and warning them persistently, saying, Obey My voice.

8 Н о те не послушаха, нито приклониха ухото си, а ходиха всеки според упоритостта на нечестивото си сърце; затова докарах върху тях всичко казано в този завет, който им заповядах да изпълняват, но който не изпълниха.

Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but everyone walked in the stubbornness of his own evil heart. Therefore I brought upon them all the words of this covenant or solemn pledge, which I had commanded, but they did not do.

9 Г оспод ми каза още: Заговор бе разкрит между Юдовите мъже и йерусалимските жители.

And the Lord said to me, A conspiracy is found among the men of Judah and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

10 Т е са се върнали към беззаконията на праотците си, които отказаха да слушат Моите думи, и са последвали други богове, за да им служат. Израелевият дом и Юдовият дом са нарушили завета, който сключих с бащите им.

They have turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, who refused to hear My words; they have gone after other gods to serve them. The house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken My covenant or solemn pledge which I made with their fathers.

11 З атова така казва Господ: Ето, ще докарам зло върху тях, от което няма да могат да избегнат; и ще извикат към Мене, но няма да ги послушам.

Therefore thus says the Lord: Behold, I am bringing evil and calamity upon them which they will not be able to escape; though they cry to Me, I will not listen to them.

12 Т огава Юдовите градове и йерусалимските жители ще отидат и ще извикат към боговете, на които кадят; но те няма никак да ги спасят по време на бедствието им.

Then the cities of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem will go and cry out to the gods to whom they offer incense, but they cannot save them at all in the time of their evil trouble.

13 З ащото колкото е броят на градовете ти, толкова са и боговете ти, Юдо; и колкото е числото на йерусалимските улици, толкова жертвеници издигнахте на онова срамно нещо - жертвеници, за да кадите на Ваал.

For the number of your cities are your gods, O Judah; and the number of the streets of Jerusalem are the altars you have set up to the shameful thing, even altars to burn incense to Baal.

14 З атова ти недей се моли за този народ, нито възнасяй вик или молба за тях; защото Аз няма да ги послушам, когато викат към Мене поради своето бедствие.

Therefore do not pray for this people or lift up a cry or prayer for them, for I will not listen when they cry out to Me in the time of their evil trouble.

15 К акво право има любезната Ми в Моя дом, като е блудствала с мнозина, и е престанало да се принася от тебе святото месо? Когато вършиш зло, тогава се веселиш.

What right has My beloved in My house when she has wrought lewdness and done treacherously many times? Can vows and the holy flesh remove from you your wickedness and avert your calamity? Can you by these rejoice exultantly?

16 Г оспод те нарече вечнозелена маслина, красива, доброплодна; но с шум на силно вълнение запали огън върху нея и клоните ѝ се строшиха.

The Lord called a green olive tree, fair and of good fruit; but with the roar of a great tempest He will set fire to it, and its branches will be consumed.

17 З ащото Господ на Силите, Който те е насадил, изрече зло против тебе поради злото, което Израелевият дом и Юдовият дом си избраха да извършат, като Ме разгневиха с каденето си на Ваал.

For the Lord of hosts, Who planted you, has pronounced evil and calamity against you because of the evil which the house of Israel and the house of Judah have done against themselves in provoking Me to anger by offering incense to Baal.

18 Н о Господ ми откри това и го познах; и тогава Ти ми показа делата им.

And the Lord gave me knowledge of it, and I knew it; then You showed me their doings.

19 Н о аз бях като питомно агне, водено на клане, и не знаех, че бяха скроили замисли против мене, като казаха: Нека свалим дървото с плода му и нека го отсечем от земята на живите, за да не се помни вече името му.

But I was like a tame lamb that is brought to the slaughter; I did not know that they had devised inventions and schemes against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with its fruit; let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.

20 Н о, о, Господи на Силите, Който съдиш праведно, Който изпитваш вътрешностите и сърцето, нека видя Твоето въздаяние върху тях! Защото на Тебе поверих делото си.

But, O Lord of hosts, Who judges rightly and justly, Who tests the heart and the mind, let me see Your vengeance on them, for to You I have revealed and committed my cause.

21 З атова така казва Господ за анатотските мъже, които искат да отнемат живота ти и казват: Да не пророкуваш в името Господне, да не би да умреш от ръцете ни, -

Therefore thus says the Lord about the men of Anathoth, who seek your life and say, Prophesy not in the name of the Lord, that you die not by our hands—

22 т ака казва Господ на Силите: Ето, Аз ще ги накажа; юношите ще измрат от меч, синовете и дъщерите им ще измрат от глад

Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts: Behold, I will punish them. Their young men will die by the sword, their sons and their daughters will die by famine;

23 и няма да останат от тях; защото ще докарам зло върху анатотските мъже в годината, когато ги накажа.

And there will be no remnant left, for I will bring evil and calamity upon the men of Anathoth in the year of their punishment.
