1 ( По слав. 34.) Давидов псалом. Бори се, Господи, с онези, които се борят с мене; воювай против онези, които воюват против мене.

Contend, O Lord, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me!

2 В земи оръжие и щит и стани да ми помагаш.

Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for my help!

3 И зтръгни и копие и затвори пътя на преследвачите ми; кажи на душата ми: Аз съм Избавител твой.

Draw out also the spear and javelin and close up the way of those who pursue and persecute me. Say to me, I am your deliverance!

4 Н ека се посрамят и се опозорят онези, които искат да погубят душата ми; нека се върнат назад и се смутят онези, които ми мислят зло.

Let them be put to shame and dishonor who seek and require my life; let them be turned back and confounded who plan my hurt!

5 Н ека бъдат като плява пред вятъра и ангелът Господен да ги гони.

Let them be as chaff before the wind, with the Angel of the Lord driving them on!

6 Н ека бъде пътят им тъмен и хлъзгав и ангел Господен да ги гони.

Let their way be through dark and slippery places, with the Angel of the Lord pursuing and afflicting them.

7 З ащото без причина скриха за мене мрежата си в трап; без причина изкопаха яма за душата ми.

For without cause they hid for me their net; a pit of destruction without cause they dug for my life.

8 Д а дойде върху всеки един от тях неочаквана погибел; и мрежата му, която е скрил, нека улови самия него. Той нека падне в същата погибел.

Let destruction befall unawares; let the net he hid for me catch him; let him fall into that very destruction.

9 А моята душа ще се весели в Господа, ще се радва в избавлението Му;

Then I shall be joyful in the Lord; I shall rejoice in His deliverance.

10 в сичките ми кости ще кажат: Господи, кой е подобен на Тебе, Който избавяш сиромаха от по-силния от него? Да! Сиромаха и немощния от грабителя му?

All my bones shall say, Lord, who is like You, You Who deliver the poor and the afflicted from him who is too strong for him, yes, the poor and the needy from him who snatches away his goods?

11 Н есправедливи свидетели въстават и ме питат за неща, за които аз не зная нищо.

Malicious and unrighteous witnesses rise up; they ask me of things that I know not.

12 В ъздават ми зло за добро, за да бъде в оскъдност душата ми.

They reward me evil for good to my personal bereavement.

13 А аз, когато те боледуваха, се обличах във вретище, смирявах с пост душата си и молитвата ми се връщаше в пазвата ми и се повтаряше.

But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth; I afflicted myself with fasting, and I prayed with head bowed on my breast.

14 О тнасях се като с приятел, като с мой брат, ходех наведен и нажален, както кога жалее някой майка си.

I behaved as if grieving for my friend or my brother; I bowed down in sorrow, as one who bewails his mother.

15 Н о когато се препънах в пътя си, те се зарадваха и се събраха. Побойници се събраха против мене - хора, които аз не познавах; нараняваха ме, без да престават.

But in my stumbling and limping they rejoiced and gathered together; the smiters (slanderers and revilers) gathered against me, and I knew them not; they ceased not to slander and revile me.

16 К ато нечестивите смешници в пиршества скърцаха към мене със зъби.

Like profane mockers at feasts they gnashed at me with their teeth.

17 Г осподи, докога ще гледаш? Избави душата ми от злодействата им, живота ми - от тези лъвове.

Lord, how long will You look on ? Rescue my life from their destructions, my dear and only life from the lions!

18 А з ще Те славословя в голямо събрание, ще Те хваля между многоброен народ.

I will give You thanks in the great assembly; I will praise You among a mighty throng.

19 Д а не тържествуват над мен онези, които несправедливо враждуват против мене, нито да намигват с очи онези, които ме мразят без причина.

Let not those who are wrongfully my foes rejoice over me; neither let them wink with the eye who hate me without cause.

20 З ащото не говорят за мир, а измислят лъжливи думи против тихите на земята.

For they do not speak peace, but they devise deceitful matters against those who are quiet in the land.

21 Д а! Те отвориха широко срещу мене устата си; казваха: Охохо! Очите ни видяха!

Yes, they open their mouths wide against me; they say, Aha! Aha! Our eyes have seen it!

22 Т и си видял, Господи, да не премълчиш; Господи, да не се отдалечиш от мене,

You have seen this, O Lord; keep not silence! O Lord, be not far from me!

23 с тани и се събуди за съда ми; за делото ми, Боже мой и Господи мой.

Arouse Yourself, awake to the justice due me, even to my cause, my God and my Lord!

24 С ъди ме, Господи, Боже мой, според правдата Си и да не тържествуват над мене.

Judge and vindicate me, O Lord my God, according to Your righteousness (Your rightness and justice); and let not rejoice over me!

25 Д а не кажат в сърцето си: Ето, желанието ни се изпълни. Нито да кажат: Погълнахме го.

Let them not say in their hearts, Aha, that is what we wanted! Let them not say, We have swallowed him up and utterly destroyed him.

26 Д а се посрамят и се опозорят заедно всички онези, които се радват на злощастието ми; да се облекат със срам и с позор онези, които се големеят против мене.

Let them be put to shame and confusion together who rejoice at my calamity! Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor who magnify and exalt themselves over me!

27 Д а възклицават и да се зарадват онези, които благоприятстват за правото ми дело, и нека винаги казват: Да се възвеличи Господ, Който желае благоденствие на слугата Си.

Let those who favor my righteous cause and have pleasure in my uprightness shout for joy and be glad and say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, Who takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.

28 И езикът ми ще разказва Твоята правда и Твоята хвала всеки ден.

And my tongue shall talk of Your righteousness, rightness, and justice, and of Your praise all the day long.
