The words of Lemuel king of Massa, which his mother taught him:

2 К акво, сине мой? Какво, сине на утробата ми? И какво, сине на моите оброци?

What, my son? What, son of my womb? What, son of my vows and dedication to God?

3 Н е давай силата си на жените, нито пътищата си - на тези, които погубват царете.

Give not your strength to women, nor your ways to those who and that which ruin and destroy kings.

4 Н е е за царете, Лемуиле, не е за царете да пият вино, нито за князете да кажат: Къде е спиртното питие?

It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, or for rulers to desire strong drink,

5 Д а не би, като се напият, да забравят закона и да не оправдаят угнетяваните.

Lest they drink and forget the law and what it decrees, and pervert the justice due any of the afflicted.

6 Д авайте спиртно питие на онзи, който загива, и вино - на огорчения духом,

Give strong drink to him who is ready to pass away, and wine to him in bitter distress of heart.

7 з а да пийне и да забрави сиромашията си, и да не помни вече окаяността си.

Let him drink and forget his poverty and remember his want and misery no more.

8 О тваряй устата си за безгласния, за делото на всички, които загиват;

Open your mouth for the dumb, for the rights of all who are left desolate and defenseless;

9 о тваряй устата си, съди справедливо и раздавай правосъдие на сиромаха и немотния. Възхвала на добродетелната жена

Open your mouth, judge righteously, and administer justice for the poor and needy.

10 К ой може да намери добродетелна жена? Защото тя е много по-ценна от скъпоценни камъни.

A capable, intelligent, and virtuous woman—who is he who can find her? She is far more precious than jewels and her value is far above rubies or pearls.

11 С ърцето на мъжа ѝ уповава на нея; и няма да му липсва печалба.

The heart of her husband trusts in her confidently and relies on and believes in her securely, so that he has no lack of gain or need of spoil.

12 Т я ще му донася добро, а не зло, през всички дни на живота си.

She comforts, encourages, and does him only good as long as there is life within her.

13 Т ърси вълна и лен и работи с ръцете си това, което ѝ е угодно.

She seeks out wool and flax and works with willing hands.

14 Т я е като търговските кораби - донася храната си отдалеч.

She is like the merchant ships loaded with foodstuffs; she brings her household’s food from a far.

15 П ри това става, докато е още тъмно, и дава храна на дома си, и определената работа - на слугините си.

She rises while it is yet night and gets food for her household and assigns her maids their tasks.

16 Р азглежда нива и я купува; от плода на ръцете си сади лозе.

She considers a field before she buys or accepts it; with her savings she plants fruitful vines in her vineyard.

17 О пасва кръста си със сила и укрепва мишците си.

She girds herself with strength and makes her arms strong and firm.

18 К ато схваща, че търгуването ѝ е полезно, светилникът ѝ не угасва през нощта.

She tastes and sees that her gain from work is good; her lamp goes not out, but it burns on continually through the night.

19 С лага ръцете си на вретеното и държи в ръката си хурката.

She lays her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

20 О тваря ръката си за сиромасите. Да! Простира ръцете си към нуждаещите се.

She opens her hand to the poor, yes, she reaches out her filled hands to the needy.

21 Н е се бои от снега за дома си; защото всичките ѝ домашни са облечени с двойни дрехи.

She fears not the snow for her family, for all her household are doubly clothed in scarlet.

22 П рави си завивки от дамаска; облеклото ѝ е от висон и морав плат.

She makes for herself coverlets, cushions, and rugs of tapestry. Her clothing is of linen, pure and fine, and of purple.

23 М ъжът ѝ е известен в портите, когато седи между местните старейшини.

Her husband is known in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land.

24 Т я тъче ленено платно и го продава, и доставя пояси на търговците;

She makes fine linen garments and leads others to buy them; she delivers to the merchants girdles.

25 с ила и достолепие са облеклото ѝ; и тя гледа весело към бъдещето.

Strength and dignity are her clothing and her position is strong and secure; she rejoices over the future!

26 О тваря устата си с мъдрост и законът на езика ѝ е благ.

She opens her mouth in skillful and godly Wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness.

27 Д обре внимава в управлението на дома си и хляб на леност не яде.

She looks well to how things go in her household, and the bread of idleness (gossip, discontent, and self-pity) she will not eat.

28 С иновете ѝ стават и я облажават; и мъжът ѝ я хвали, като казва:

Her children rise up and call her blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied); and her husband boasts of and praises her,,

29 М ного дъщери са се държали достойно, но ти надмина всичките.

Many daughters have done virtuously, nobly, and well, but you excel them all.

30 П релестта е измамлива и красотата е лъх; но жена, която се бои от Господа, тя ще бъде похвалена.

Charm and grace are deceptive, and beauty is vain, but a woman who reverently and worshipfully fears the Lord, she shall be praised!

31 Д айте ѝ от плода на ръцете ѝ и делата ѝ нека я хвалят в портите.

Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates!
