1 В онова време четвъртовластникът Ирод чу слуха, който се носеше за Исус;

At that time Herod the governor heard the reports about Jesus,

2 и каза на слугите си: Този е Йоан Кръстител - той е възкръснал от мъртвите и затова тези сили действат чрез него.

And he said to his attendants, This is John the Baptist; He has been raised from the dead, and that is why the powers of performing miracles are at work in Him.

3 З ащото Ирод беше хванал Йоан и го беше вързал и хвърлил в тъмница заради Иродиада, жената на брат си Филип;

For Herod had arrested John and bound him and put him in prison '> stow him out of the way] on account and for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife,

4 п онеже Йоан му казваше: Не ти е позволено да я имаш.

For John had said to him, It is not lawful or right for you to have her.

5 И искаше да го убие, но се боеше от народа, защото го смятаха за пророк.

Although he wished to have him put to death, he was afraid of the people, for they regarded John as a prophet.

6 А когато Ирод имаше рожден ден, дъщерята на Иродиада танцува сред събраните и угоди на Ирод.

But when Herod’s birthday came, the daughter of Herodias danced in the midst and pleased and fascinated Herod,

7 З атова той с клетва обеща да ѝ даде, каквото и да му поиска.

And so he promised with an oath to give her whatever she might ask.

8 А тя, подучена от майка си, каза: Дай ми тук на блюдо главата на Йоан Кръстител.

And she, being put forward and prompted by her mother, said, Give me the head of John the Baptist right here on a platter.

9 Ц арят се наскърби; но заради клетвата си и заради седящите с него заповяда да ѝ се даде.

And the king was distressed and sorry, but because of his oaths and his guests, he ordered it to be given her;

10 И изпрати да обезглавят Йоан в тъмницата.

He sent and had John beheaded in the prison.

11 И донесоха главата му на блюдо и я дадоха на девойката, а тя я занесе на майка си.

And his head was brought in on a platter and given to the little maid, and she brought it to her mother.

12 А учениците му, като дойдоха, взеха тялото и го погребаха; и отидоха и казаха на Исус. Чудото с нахранването на пет хиляди души

And John’s disciples came and took up the body and buried it. Then they went and told Jesus.

13 И Исус, като чу това, се оттегли оттам с ладия на уединено място настрана; а народът, като разбра, отиде след Него пеша от градовете.

When Jesus heard it, He withdrew from there privately in a boat to a solitary place. But when the crowds heard of it, they followed Him on foot from the towns.

14 И Той, като излезе, видя голямо множество, смили се над тях и изцели болните им.

When He went ashore and saw a great throng of people, He had compassion (pity and deep sympathy) for them and cured their sick.

15 А като се свечери, учениците дойдоха при Него и казаха: Мястото е уединено и времето вече напредна; разпусни народа да отиде по селата да си купи храна.

When evening came, the disciples came to Him and said, This is a remote and barren place, and the day is now over; send the throngs away into the villages to buy food for themselves.

16 А Исус им каза: Няма нужда да ходят; дайте им вие да ядат.

Jesus said, They do not need to go away; you give them something to eat.

17 А те Му отговориха: Имаме тук само пет хляба и две риби.

They said to Him, We have nothing here but five loaves and two fish.

18 А Той им каза: Донесете ги тук при Мене.

He said, Bring them here to Me.

19 Т огава, като заповяда на народа да насяда на тревата, взе петте хляба и двете риби, погледна към небето и благослови; и като разчупи хлябовете, даде ги на учениците, а учениците - на народа.

Then He ordered the crowds to recline on the grass; and He took the five loaves and the two fish, and, looking up to heaven, He gave thanks and blessed and broke the loaves and handed the pieces to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.

20 И всички ядоха и се наситиха; и вдигнаха останалите къшеи - дванадесет пълни коша.

And they all ate and were satisfied. And they picked up twelve '> small hand] baskets full of the broken pieces left over.

21 А онези, които ядоха, бяха около пет хиляди мъже освен жените и децата. Исус Христос ходи по водата

And those who ate were about 5, 000 men, not including women and children.

22 И начаса Исус накара учениците да влязат в ладията и да отидат преди Него на отсрещната страна, докато разпусне народа.

Then He directed the disciples to get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent away the crowds.

23 И като разпусна народа, изкачи се на хълма да се помоли насаме. И като се свечери, Той беше там сам.

And after He had dismissed the multitudes, He went up into the hills by Himself to pray. When it was evening, He was still there alone.

24 А ладията беше вече насред езерото, блъскана от вълните, защото вятърът беше насрещен.

But the boat was by this time out on the sea, many furlongs distant from the land, beaten and tossed by the waves, for the wind was against them.

25 А в четвъртата стража на нощта Той дойде при тях, като вървеше по езерото.

And in the fourth watch of the night, Jesus came to them, walking on the sea.

26 И учениците, като Го видяха, че ходи по езерото, се смутиха и мислеха, че е призрак, и от страх извикаха.

And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified and said, It is a ghost! And they screamed out with fright.

27 А Исус веднага им проговори: Дерзайте! Аз съм; не бойте се!

But instantly He spoke to them, saying, Take courage! I Am! Stop being afraid!

28 И Петър Му отговори: Господи, ако си Ти, кажи ми да дойда при Тебе по водата.

And Peter answered Him, Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.

29 А Той каза: Ела! И Петър слезе от ладията и вървеше по водата, за да иде при Исус.

He said, Come! So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water, and he came toward Jesus.

30 Н о като видя силния вятър, уплаши се и като потъваше, извика: Господи, избави ме!

But when he perceived and felt the strong wind, he was frightened, and as he began to sink, he cried out, Lord, save me!

31 И Исус веднага протегна ръка, хвана го и му каза: Маловерецо, защо се усъмни?

Instantly Jesus reached out His hand and caught and held him, saying to him, O you of little faith, why did you doubt?

32 И като влязоха в ладията, вятърът утихна.

And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.

33 А онези, които бяха в ладията, Му се поклониха и казаха: Наистина, Ти си Божий Син.

And those in the boat knelt and worshiped Him, saying, Truly You are the Son of God!

34 И като преминаха езерото, дойдоха в Генисаретската земя.

And when they had crossed over to the other side, they went ashore at Gennesaret.

35 И когато местните мъже Го познаха, разпратиха по цялата онази околност и доведоха при Него всички болни;

And when the men of that place recognized Him, they sent around into all the surrounding country and brought to Him all who were sick

36 и Го молеха да се допрат само до полата на дрехата Му; и колкото се допряха, се изцелиха.

And begged Him to let them merely touch the fringe of His garment; and as many as touched it were perfectly restored.
