1 К огда те три мужа перестали отвечать Иову, потому что он был прав в глазах своих,

So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous (upright and in right standing with God) in his own eyes.

2 т огда воспылал гнев Елиуя, сына Варахиилова, Вузитянина из племени Рамова: воспылал гнев его на Иова за то, что он оправдывал себя больше, нежели Бога,

Elihu son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, became indignant. His indignation was kindled against Job because he justified himself rather than God.

3 а на трех друзей его воспылал гнев его за то, что они не нашли, что отвечать, а между тем обвиняли Иова.

Also against three friends was anger kindled, because they had found no answer, and yet they had declared him to be in the wrong.

4 Е лиуй ждал, пока Иов говорил, потому что они летами были старше его.

Now Elihu had waited to speak to Job because the others were older than he.

5 К огда же Елиуй увидел, что нет ответа в устах тех трех мужей, тогда воспылал гнев его.

But when Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouths of these three men, he became angry.

6 И отвечал Елиуй, сын Варахиилов, Вузитянин, и сказал: я молод летами, а вы--старцы; поэтому я робел и боялся объявлять вам мое мнение.

Then Elihu son of Barachel the Buzite said, I am young, and you are aged; for that reason I was timid and restrained and dared not declare my opinion to you.

7 Я говорил сам себе: пусть говорят дни, и многолетие поучает мудрости.

I said, Age should speak, and a multitude of years should teach wisdom.

8 Н о дух в человеке и дыхание Вседержителя дает ему разумение.

But there is a spirit in man, and the breath of the Almighty gives men understanding.

9 Н е многолетние мудры, и не старики разумеют правду.

It is not the great who are wise, nor the aged who understand justice.

10 П оэтому я говорю: выслушайте меня, объявлю вам мое мнение и я.

So I say, Listen to me; I also will give you my opinion and my knowledge.

11 В от, я ожидал слов ваших, --вслушивался в суждения ваши, доколе вы придумывали, что сказать.

You see, I waited for your words, I listened to your wise reasons, while you searched out what to say.

12 Я пристально смотрел на вас, и вот никто из вас не обличает Иова и не отвечает на слова его.

Yes, I paid attention to what you said, and behold, not one of you convinced Job or made replies to his words.

13 Н е скажите: мы нашли мудрость: Бог опровергнет его, а не человек.

Beware lest you say, We have found wisdom; God thrusts down, not man.

14 Е сли бы он обращал слова свои ко мне, то я не вашими речами отвечал бы ему.

Now has not directed his words against me, neither will I answer him with speeches like yours.

15 И спугались, не отвечают более; перестали говорить.

are amazed and embarrassed, they answer no more; they have not a thing to say.

16 И как я ждал, а они не говорят, остановились и не отвечают более,

And shall I wait, because they say nothing but stand still and answer no more?

17 т о и я отвечу с моей стороны, объявлю мое мнение и я,

I also will answer my part; I also will declare my opinion and my knowledge.

18 и бо я полон речами, и дух во мне теснит меня.

For I am full of words; the spirit within me constrains me.

19 В от, утроба моя, как вино неоткрытое: она готова прорваться, подобно новым мехам.

My breast is as wine that has no vent; like new wineskins, it is ready to burst.

20 П оговорю, и будет легче мне; открою уста мои и отвечу.

I must speak, that I may get relief and be refreshed; I will open my lips and answer.

21 Н а лице человека смотреть не буду и никакому человеку льстить не стану,

I will not be influenced by respect for any man’s person and show partiality, neither will I flatter any man.

22 п отому что я не умею льстить: сейчас убей меня, Творец мой.

For I know not how to flatter, my Maker would soon take me away.
