After this, David smote and subdued the Philistines, and took Gath and its villages out of the hand of the Philistines.

2 О н поразил также Моавитян, --и сделались Моавитяне рабами Давида, принося ему дань.

He smote Moab, and the Moabites became David’s servants and brought tribute.

3 И поразил Давид Адраазара, царя Сувского, в Емафе, когда тот шел утвердить власть свою при реке Евфрате.

Also David defeated Hadadezer king of Zobah toward Hamath, as he went to establish his dominion by the river Euphrates.

4 И взял Давид у него тысячу колесниц, семь тысяч всадников и двадцать тысяч пеших, и разрушил Давид все колесницы, оставив из них сто.

David took from him 1, 000 chariots, 7, 000 horsemen, and 20, 000 foot soldiers. David also hamstrung all the chariot horses, but reserved enough for 100 chariots.

5 С ирияне Дамасские пришли было на помощь к Адраазару, царю Сувскому, но Давид поразил двадцать две тысячи Сириян.

When the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians 22, 000 men.

6 И поставил Давид в Сирии Дамасской, и сделались Сирияне рабами Давида, принося ему дань. И помогал Господь Давиду везде, куда он ни ходил.

Then David put garrisons in Syria, Damascus; the Syrians became David’s servants and brought tribute. Thus the Lord preserved and gave victory to David wherever he went.

7 И взял Давид золотые щиты, которые были у рабов Адраазара, и принес их в Иерусалим.

David took the shields of gold that were carried by the servants of Hadadezer and brought them to Jerusalem.

8 А из Тивхавы и Куна, городов Адраазаровых, взял Давид весьма много меди. Из нее Соломон сделал медное море и столбы и медные сосуды.

Likewise from Tibhath and from Cun, cities of Hadadezer, David brought very much bronze, with which Solomon later made the bronze laver, the pillars, and the vessels of bronze.

9 И услышал Фой, царь Имафа, что Давид поразил все войско Адраазара, царя Сувского.

When Tou king of Hamath heard how David had defeated all the hosts of Hadadezer king of Zobah,

10 И послал Иорама, сына своего, к царю Давиду, приветствовать его и благодарить за то, что он воевал с Адраазаром и поразил его, ибо Фой был в войне с Адраазаром, --и всякие сосуды золотые, серебряные и медные.

He sent Hadoram his son to King David to salute him and to congratulate him because he had fought and defeated Hadadezer, for Hadadezer had had wars with Tou. And Hadoram brought with him all manner of vessels of gold, silver, and bronze.

11 И посвятил их царь Давид Господу вместе с серебром и золотом, которое он взял от всех народов: от Идумеян, Моавитян, Аммонитян, Филистимлян и от Амаликитян.

King David dedicated them also to the Lord, with the silver and the gold he brought from all these nations: Edom, Moab, the Ammonites, the Philistines, and the Amalekites.

12 И Авесса, сын Саруи, поразил Идумеян на долине Соляной восемнадцать тысяч;

Also Abishai son of Zeruiah slew 18, 000 of the Edomites in the Valley of Salt.

13 и поставил в Идумее охранное войско, и сделались все Идумеяне рабами Давиду. Господь помогал Давиду везде, куда он ни ходил.

He put garrisons in Edom, and all the Edomites became David’s servants. Thus the Lord preserved and gave victory to David wherever he went.

14 И царствовал Давид над всем Израилем, и творил суд и правду всему народу своему.

So David reigned over all Israel and executed judgment and justice among all his people.

15 И оав, сын Саруи, начальником войска, Иосафат, сын Ахилуда, дееписателем,

Joab son of Zeruiah was over the army; and Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was the recorder;

16 С адок, сын Ахитува, и Авимелех, сын Авиафара, священниками, а Суса писцом,

Zadok son of Ahitub and Abimelech son of Abiathar were the priests; and Shavsha was secretary;

17 В анея, сын Иодая, над Хелефеями и Фелефеями, а сыновья Давидовы--первыми при царе.

Benaiah son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David’s sons were chiefs next to the king.
