1 O God, keep not thou silence: Hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.

Боже, не молчи и не безмолвствуй! Не будь в покое, о Бог!

2 F or, lo, thine enemies make a tumult; And they that hate thee have lifted up the head.

Посмотри, враги Твои шумят, и ненавидящие Тебя подняли голову.

3 T hy take crafty counsel against thy people, And consult together against thy hidden ones.

Против Твоего народа составили коварный замысел и сговариваются против оберегаемых Тобою.

4 T hey have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; That the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.

Сказали: «Пойдем и истребим их из числа народов, чтобы не вспоминалось больше имя Израиля».

5 F or they have consulted together with one consent; Against thee do they make a covenant:

Сговорились единодушно, заключили против Тебя союз.

6 T he tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab, and the Hagarenes;

Селения Эдома и измаильтяне, Моав и агаряне,

7 G ebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre:

Гевал, Аммон и Амалик, филистимляне с жителями Тира.

8 A ssyria also is joined with them; They have helped the children of Lot. Selah

Даже Ассирия присоединилась к ним, добавив силы потомкам Лота. Пауза

9 D o thou unto them as unto Midian, As to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the river Kishon;

Сделай им то же, что и Мадиану, что и Сисаре и Иавину у реки Кишона,

10 W ho perished at Endor, Who became as dung for the earth.

которые были истреблены в Эн-Доре и стали удобрением для земли.

11 M ake their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb; Yea, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna;

Поступи с их вождями, как с Оривом и Зивом, и с их правителями, как с Зевахом и Салманом,

12 W ho said, Let us take to ourselves in possession The habitations of God.

которые говорили: «Возьмем себе во владение землю Божью».

13 O my God, make them like the whirling dust; As stubble before the wind.

Бог мой, пусть будут они как перекати-поле, как солома, гонимая ветром.

14 A s the fire that burneth the forest, And as the flame that setteth the mountains on fire,

Как огонь пожирает лес и как пламя опаляет горы,

15 S o pursue them with thy tempest, And terrify them with thy storm.

так погони их Своею бурею и вихрем Своим приведи их в смятение.

16 F ill their faces with confusion, That they may seek thy name, O Jehovah.

Покрой бесчестием их лица, чтобы воззвали Имя Твое, Господи!

17 L et them be put to shame and dismayed for ever; Yea, let them be confounded and perish;

Пусть постыдятся и смутятся навсегда, пусть погибнут в бесчестии.

18 T hat they may know that thou alone, whose name is Jehovah, Art the Most High over all the earth.

Пусть познают, что Ты, Чье Имя – Господь, один лишь Ты – Всевышний над землею.
