1 N ow Jehovah said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto the land that I will show thee:

Господь сказал Авраму: – Оставь свою страну, свой народ и отцовский дом и иди в землю, которую Я тебе укажу.

2 a nd I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make they name great; and be thou a blessing;

Я произведу от тебя великий народ и благословлю тебя; Я возвеличу твое имя, и ты будешь благословением.

3 a nd I will bless them that bless thee, and him that curseth thee will I curse: and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

Я благословлю тех, кто благословляет тебя, и прокляну того, кто проклинает тебя; и через тебя получат благословение все народы на земле.

4 S o Abram went, as Jehovah had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.

И Аврам отправился в путь, как сказал ему Бог, и Лот пошел вместе с ним. Авраму было семьдесят пять лет, когда он ушел из Харрана.

5 A nd Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.

Он взял с собой жену Сару, племянника Лота, все имущество, которое они нажили, и людей, которых они приобрели в Харране. Они отправились в землю Ханаана и пришли туда.

6 A nd Abram passed through the land unto the place of Shechem, unto the oak of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land.

Аврам прошел по этой земле до того места в Шехеме, где стояло великое дерево Море; в то время там жили хананеи.

7 A nd Jehovah appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto Jehovah, who appeared unto him.

Господь явился Авраму и сказал: – Я дам эту землю твоему потомству. Аврам построил там жертвенник Господу, Который явился ему.

8 A nd he removed from thence unto the mountain on the east of Beth-el, and pitched his tent, having Beth-el on the west, and Ai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto Jehovah, and called upon the name of Jehovah.

Оттуда он двинулся в горную местность к востоку от Вефиля и поставил шатер между Вефилем на западе и Гаем на востоке. Там он построил жертвенник Господу и призвал Имя Господа.

9 A nd Abram journeyed, going on still toward the South.

Затем Аврам снялся с места и продолжил путь к Негеву. Переселение Аврама и Сары в Египет

10 A nd there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was sore in the land.

На земле был голод, и Аврам направился жить в Египет, потому что голод был очень силен.

11 A nd it came to pass, when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said unto Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that thou art a fair woman to look upon:

Когда они подходили к Египту, он сказал жене Саре: – Я знаю, что ты красивая женщина.

12 a nd it will come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see thee, that they will say, This is his wife: and they will kill me, but they will save thee alive.

Когда египтяне увидят тебя, они скажут: «Это его жена», – и убьют меня, а тебя оставят в живых.

13 S ay, I pray thee, thou art my sister; that it may be well with me for thy sake, and that my soul may live because of thee.

Скажи, что ты моя сестра, чтобы ради тебя меня приняли хорошо и, благодаря тебе, я остался бы жив.

14 A nd it came to pass, that, when Abram was come into Egypt, the Egyptians beheld the woman that she was very fair.

Когда Аврам пришел в Египет, египтяне увидели, что Сара очень красива,

15 A nd the princes of Pharaoh saw her, and praised her to Pharaoh: and the woman was taken into Pharaoh's house.

а когда ее увидели придворные фараона, они расхвалили ее фараону, и Сару взяли к нему во дворец.

16 A nd he dealt well with Abram for her sake: and he had sheep, and oxen, and he-asses, and men-servants, and maid-servants, and she-asses, and camels.

Он хорошо принял Аврама ради нее, и Аврам приобрел мелкий и крупный скот, ослов и ослиц, слуг и служанок и верблюдов.

17 A nd Jehovah plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram's wife.

Но Господь поразил фараона и весь его дом тяжелыми болезнями из-за Аврамовой жены Сары.

18 A nd Pharaoh called Abram, and said, What is this that thou hast done unto me? why didst thou not tell me that she was thy wife?

Тогда фараон призвал Аврама и спросил: – Что ты сделал со мной? Почему ты не сказал мне, что она – твоя жена?

19 w hy saidst thou, She is my sister, so that I took her to be my wife? now therefore behold thy wife, take her, and go thy way.

Зачем ты сказал: «Она моя сестра»? Только из-за этого я взял ее себе в жены. Вот твоя жена. Забирай ее и уходи!

20 A nd Pharaoh gave men charge concerning him: and they brought him on the way, and his wife, and all that he had.

Фараон распорядился, и его люди отправили Аврама в дорогу вместе с женой и всем, что у него было.
