1 N ow these are the last words of David. David the son of Jesse saith, And the man who was raised on high saith, The anointed of the God of Jacob, And the sweet psalmist of Israel:

Вот последние слова Давида: – Пророчество Давида, сына Иессея, пророчество человека, вознесенного Всевышним, человека, помазанного Богом Иакова, и сладкоголосого певца Израиля:

2 T he Spirit of Jehovah spake by me, And his word was upon my tongue.

Дух Господень говорит через меня; слово Его у меня на языке.

3 T he God of Israel said, The Rock of Israel spake to me: One that ruleth over men righteously, That ruleth in the fear of God,

Бог Израиля сказал, скала Израиля изрек обо мне: «Тот, кто правит людьми справедливо, тот, кто правит в страхе Божьем,

4 H e shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, A morning without clouds, When the tender grass springeth out of the earth, Through clear shining after rain.

свету утра подобен, солнцу подобен, встающему безоблачным утром, сияющему после дождя, которое растит траву из земли».

5 V erily my house is not so with God; Yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, Ordered in all things, and sure: For it is all my salvation, and all my desire, Although he maketh it not to grow.

Разве не таков дом мой у Бога? Разве Он не заключил со мной вечный завет, полностью устроенный и непреложный? Разве не от Него все мое спасение и все мои желания?

6 B ut the ungodly shall be all of them as thorns to be thrust away, Because they cannot be taken with the hand;

Но все нечестивые подобны тернию, которое отбрасывают прочь и не берут руками.

7 B ut the man that toucheth them Must be armed with iron and the staff of a spear: And they shall be utterly burned with fire in their place.

Всякий, кто касается терния, вооружается железом или древком копья; его сжигают там же, на месте. Прославленные воины Давида (1 Пар. 11: 10-41)

8 T hese are the names of the mighty men whom David had: Josheb-basshebeth a Tahchemonite, chief of the captains; the same was Adino the Eznite, against eight hundred slain at one time.

Вот имена воинов Давида: тахмонитянин Иошев-Башевет был главой троих; он поднял свое копье на восемьсот человек, которых он убил в одной схватке.

9 A nd after him was Eleazar the son of Dodai the son of an Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away.

После него был Элеазар, сын Додая, внук Ахохи. Он был с Давидом, когда они насмешками вызывали на бой собравшихся для битвы филистимлян.

10 H e arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword; and Jehovah wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to take spoil.

Израильтяне вышли против них, и он проявил храбрость и разил филистимлян, пока его рука не устала и не прилипла к мечу. В тот день Господь даровал великую победу. Только после битвы воины вернулись к Элеазару, но лишь для того, чтобы обирать убитых.

11 A nd after him was Shammah the son of Agee a Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a plot of ground full of lentils; and the people fled from the Philistines.

После него был Шамма, сын гараритянина Аге. Когда филистимляне собрались в Лехи, где было поле, засеянное чечевицей, воины Израиля бежали от них.

12 B ut he stood in the midst of the plot, and defended it, and slew the Philistines; and Jehovah wrought a great victory.

Но Шамма встал посредине поля. Он защитил его и перебил филистимлян, и Господь одержал великую победу.

13 A nd three of the thirty chief men went down, and came to David in the harvest time unto the cave of Adullam; and the troop of the Philistines was encamped in the valley of Rephaim.

К началу жатвы трое из тридцати вождей пришли к Давиду в пещеру Адуллам, когда отряд филистимлян стоял лагерем в долине Рефаим.

14 A nd David was then in the stronghold; and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Beth-lehem.

Давид тогда был в укреплении, а войска филистимлян в Вифлееме.

15 A nd David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me water to drink of the well of Beth-lehem, which is by the gate!

Давида томила жажда, и он сказал: – О, если бы кто-нибудь принес мне попить из колодца у вифлеемских ворот!

16 A nd the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Beth-lehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto Jehovah.

Тогда те трое воинов пробились через филистимский лагерь, зачерпнули воды из колодца у вифлеемских ворот и принесли Давиду. Но он отказался пить и вылил воду как приношение Господу.

17 A nd he said, Be it far from me, O Jehovah, that I should do this: shall I drink the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.

– Сохрани меня, Господи, сделать это! – сказал он. – Разве я стану пить кровь людей, которые рисковали своей жизнью?! И он не стал пить. Таковы подвиги совершили трое этих воинов.

18 A nd Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief of the three. And he lifted up his spear against three hundred and slew them, and had a name among the three.

Брат Иоава, Авишай, сын Саруи, был главой троих. Он сражался с копьем против трехсот человек, перебил их всех и прославился наравне с теми тремя.

19 W as he not most honorable of the three? therefore he was made their captain: howbeit he attained not unto the first three.

Он был самым прославленным из тридцати и стал их вождем, но сам не равнялся с теми тремя.

20 A nd Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done mighty deeds, he slew the two sons of Ariel of Moab: he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow.

Ванея, сын Иодая, был доблестным воином из Кавцеила, совершившим великие подвиги. Он сразил двух сильнейших воинов из Моава. Еще он спустился в ров в снежный день и убил там льва.

21 A nd he slew an Egyptian, a goodly man: and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.

Он также сразил огромного египтянина. У египтянина в руке было копье, а Ванея вышел против него с палкой. Он вырвал копье из руки египтянина и убил его этим же копьем.

22 T hese things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had a name among the three mighty men.

Таковы были подвиги Ванеи, сына Иодая. Он прославился наравне с теми тремя.

23 H e was more honorable than the thirty, but he attained not to the first three. And David set him over his guard.

Он был знаменит среди тридцати, но славой с теми тремя не равнялся. Давид поставил его начальником своей стражи.

24 A sahel the brother of Joab was one of the thirty; Elhanan the son of Dodo of Beth-lehem,

Среди тридцати были: Асаил, брат Иоава, Элханан, сын Додо из Вифлеема,

25 S hammah the Harodite, Elika the Harodite,

хародитянин Шамма, хародитянин Елика,

26 H elez the Paltite, Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite,

палтитянин Хелец, Ира, сын Икеша из Текоа,

27 A biezer the Anathothite, Mebunnai the Hushathite,

Авиезер из Анатота, хушатянин Мебуннай,

28 Z almon the Ahohite, Maharai the Netophathite,

ахохитянин Цалмон, нетофитянин Магарай,

29 H eleb the son of Baanah the Netophathite, Ittai the son of Ribai of Gibeah of the children of Benjamin,

30 B enaiah a Pirathonite, Hiddai of the brooks of Gaash.

пирафонянин Ванея, Иддай из Нахле-Гааша,

31 A bialbon the Arbathite, Azmaveth the Barhumite,

арбатитянин Ави-Албон, бархюмитянин Азмавет,

32 E liahba the Shaalbonite, the sons of Jashen, Jonathan,

шаалбонитянин Елияхба, сыновья Иашена, Ионафан

33 S hammah the Hararite, Ahiam the son of Sharar the Ararite,

сын араритянина Шаммы, Ахиам, сын араритянина Шарара,

34 E liphelet the son of Ahasbai, the son of the Maacathite, Eliam the son of Ahithophel the Gilonite,

Элифелет, сын Ахасбая из Маахи, Елиам, сын гилонитянина Ахитофела,

35 H ezro the Carmelite, Paarai the Arbite,

Хецрай из Кармила, арбитянин Паарай,

36 I gal the son of Nathan of Zobah, Bani the Gadite,

37 Z elek the Ammonite, Naharai the Beerothite, armorbearers to Joab the son of Zeruiah,

38 I ra the Ithrite, Gareb the Ithrite,

39 U riah the Hittite: thirty and seven in all.
