1 T hen Job answered and said,

Тогда Иов ответил:

2 H ow hast thou helped him that is without power! How hast thou saved the arm that hath no strength!

– О как бессильному ты помог! Как мышцу слабого поддержал!

3 H ow hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom, And plentifully declared sound knowledge!

Как посоветовал ты немудрому! И как во всей полноте явил знание!

4 T o whom hast thou uttered words? And whose spirit came forth from thee?

Кто помог тебе сказать эти слова? Чей дух говорил твоими устами?

5 T hey that are deceased tremble Beneath the waters and the inhabitants thereof.

Призраков охватила дрожь, трепещут подземные воды и их обитатели.

6 S heol is naked before God, And Abaddon hath no covering.

Мир мертвых обнажен перед Богом, и покрова нет Погибели.

7 H e stretcheth out the north over empty space, And hangeth the earth upon nothing.

Распростер Он север над пустотой; ни на чем Он подвесил землю.

8 H e bindeth up the waters in his thick clouds; And the cloud is not rent under them.

Заключает Он воду в тучи Свои, но тучи под ее весом не рвутся.

9 H e incloseth the face of his throne, And spreadeth his cloud upon it.

Он закрывает престол Свой, застлав его облаком Своим.

10 H e hath described a boundary upon the face of the waters, Unto the confines of light and darkness.

Начертил Он круг над гладью вод, как границу света и тьмы.

11 T he pillars of heaven tremble And are astonished at his rebuke.

Столпы небес дрожат, в ужасе перед Его грозой.

12 H e stirreth up the sea with his power, And by his understanding he smiteth through Rahab.

Силой Своей Он волнует море, разумом Своим Он поражает Раав.

13 B y his Spirit the heavens are garnished; His hand hath pierced the swift serpent.

От Его дыхания ясны небеса, и скользящую змею пронзает Его рука.

14 L o, these are but the outskirts of his ways: And how small a whisper do we hear of him! But the thunder of his power who can understand?

И это лишь часть Его дел; только слабый шепот о Нем мы слышим! А гром Его мощи кто уяснит?
