1 A nd it came to pass after these things, that God did prove Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham. And he said, Here am I.

Спустя какое-то время Бог подверг Авраама испытанию. Он сказал ему: – Авраам! – Я здесь, – ответил Авраам.

2 A nd he said, Take now thy son, thine only son, whom thou lovest, even Isaac, and get thee into the land of Moriah. And offer him there for a burnt-offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

Бог сказал: – Возьми сына, своего единственного сына Исаака, которого ты любишь, иди в землю Мориа и принеси его там в жертву всесожжения на горе, на которую Я укажу тебе.

3 A nd Abraham rose early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son. And he clave the wood for the burnt-offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.

На другой день рано утром Авраам встал, оседлал осла, взял с собой двух слуг и сына Исаака, нарубил дров для всесожжения и отправился в путь к тому месту, о котором сказал ему Бог.

4 O n the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.

На третий день Авраам поднял взгляд и увидел вдали то место.

5 A nd Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass, and I and the lad will go yonder; and we will worship, and come again to you.

Он сказал слугам: – Оставайтесь здесь с ослом, а мы с мальчиком пойдем туда и совершим поклонение, а потом вернемся к вам.

6 A nd Abraham took the wood of the burnt-offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son. And he took in his hand the fire and the knife. And they went both of them together.

Авраам взял дрова для всесожжения и положил их на спину Исааку, а сам понес огонь и нож, и они вдвоем отправились в путь.

7 A nd Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father. And he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold, the fire and the wood. But where is the lamb for a burnt-offering?

Исаак сказал своему отцу Аврааму: – Отец! – Да, мой сын? – ответил Авраам. – У нас есть огонь и дрова, – сказал Исаак, – но где же ягненок для всесожжения?

8 A nd Abraham said, God will provide himself the lamb for a burnt-offering, my son. So they went both of them together.

Авраам ответил: – Бог Сам усмотрит ягненка для всесожжения, сын мой. И они вдвоем пошли дальше.

9 A nd they came to the place which God had told him of. And Abraham built the altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar, upon the wood.

Когда они добрались до места, о котором сказал ему Бог, Авраам построил там жертвенник и сложил на нем дрова, связал своего сына Исаака и положил его на жертвенник поверх дров.

10 A nd Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.

Он протянул руку и взял нож, чтобы заколоть сына.

11 A nd the angel of Jehovah called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham. And he said, Here I am.

Но Ангел Господень воззвал к нему с неба: – Авраам! Авраам! – Я здесь, – ответил он.

12 A nd he said, Lay not thy hand upon the lad, neither do thou anything unto him. For now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son, from me.

– Не поднимай руки на мальчика, – сказал Он, – не делай с ним ничего. Теперь Я знаю, что ты боишься Бога, потому что ты не пожалел для Меня сына, своего единственного сына.

13 A nd Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold, behind him a ram caught in the thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt-offering in the stead of his son.

Авраам поднял взгляд и увидел барана, который запутался рогами в зарослях. Он пошел, взял барана и принес его в жертву всесожжения вместо сына.

14 A nd Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh. As it is said to this day, In the mount of Jehovah it shall be provided.

Авраам назвал то место «Господь усмотрит», и оттого доныне говорится: «На горе Господа усмотрится».

15 A nd the angel of Jehovah called unto Abraham a second time out of heaven,

Ангел Господень воззвал к Аврааму с неба во второй раз

16 a nd said, By myself have I sworn, saith Jehovah, because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son,

и сказал: – Клянусь Самим Собой, возвещает Господь: раз ты сделал это и не пожалел для Меня своего единственного сына,

17 t hat in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heavens, and as the sand which is upon the seashore. And thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies.

то Я непременно благословлю тебя и сделаю твое потомство многочисленным, как звезды на небе, как песок на морском берегу; и твое потомство овладеет городами своих врагов,

18 A nd in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed. Because thou hast obeyed my voice.

и через твое потомство получат благословение все народы на земле, потому что ты послушался Меня.

19 S o Abraham returned unto his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beer-sheba. And Abraham dwelt at Beer-sheba.

Авраам возвратился к слугам, и они вместе отправились в Вирсавию. Авраам остался в Вирсавии. Потомки Нахора – брата Авраама

20 A nd it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she also hath borne children unto they brother Nahor.

Прошло время, и Аврааму сказали: – Милка тоже стала матерью, родила сыновей твоему брату Нахору:

21 U z his first-born, and Buz his brother, and Kemuel the father of Aram.

Уца, первенца, Буза, его брата, Кемуила (отца Арама),

22 A nd Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and Bethuel.

Кеседа, Хазо, Пилдаша, Идлафа и Бетуила.

23 A nd Bethuel begat Rebekah. These eight did Milcah bear to Nahor, Abraham's brother.

Бетуил стал отцом Ревекки. Этих восьмерых сыновей Милка родила Авраамову брату Нахору.

24 A nd his concubine, whose name was Reumah, she also bare Tebah, and Gaham, and Tahash, and Maacah.

Его наложница по имени Реума тоже родила сыновей: Теваха, Гахама, Тахаша и Мааху.
