1 T hen Joshua called the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh,

Иисус призвал рувимитов, гадитов и половину рода Манассии

2 a nd said unto them, Ye have kept all that Moses the servant of Jehovah commanded you, and have hearkened unto my voice in all that I commanded you:

и сказал им: – Вы исполнили все, что повелел вам Моисей, слуга Господа, и были послушны мне во всем, что я вам повелевал.

3 y e have not left your brethren these many days unto this day, but have kept the charge of the commandment of Jehovah your God.

Долгое время, до этого самого дня, вы не оставляли своих братьев, но несли служение, которое дал вам Господь, ваш Бог.

4 A nd now Jehovah your God hath given rest unto your brethren, as he spake unto them: therefore now turn ye, and get you unto your tents, unto the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of Jehovah gave you beyond the Jordan.

Теперь Господь, ваш Бог, дал вашим братьям покой, как Он и обещал. Поэтому возвращайтесь домой, в землю, которую слуга Господа Моисей дал вам на другой стороне Иордана.

5 O nly take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of Jehovah commanded you, to love Jehovah your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.

Только прилежно исполняйте повеления и Закон, которые дал вам Моисей, слуга Господа: любите Господа, вашего Бога, ходите всеми Его путями, храните Его повеления, крепко держитесь Его и служите Ему от всего сердца и от всей души.

6 S o Joshua blessed them, and sent them away; and they went unto their tents.

Иисус благословил их и отпустил, и они вернулись в свои шатры.

7 N ow to the one half-tribe of Manasseh Moses had given inheritance in Bashan; but unto the other half gave Joshua among their brethren beyond the Jordan westward; moreover when Joshua sent them away unto their tents, he blessed them,

(Одной половине рода Манассии Моисей дал землю в Башане, а другой половине рода Иисус дал землю на западной стороне Иордана с их братьями). Отпуская их домой, Иисус благословил их,

8 a nd spake unto them, saying, Return with much wealth unto your tents, and with very much cattle, with silver, and with gold, and with brass, and with iron, and with very much raiment: divide the spoil of your enemies with your brethren.

сказав: – Возвращайтесь домой со своим великим богатством – большими стадами, серебром, золотом, бронзой и железом, и великим множеством одежд – и поделитесь со своими братьями добычей, взятой вами у врагов.

9 A nd the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh returned, and departed from the children of Israel out of Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan, to go unto the land of Gilead, to the land of their possession, whereof they were possessed, according to the commandment of Jehovah by Moses.

И рувимиты, гадиты и половина рода Манассии оставили израильтян в Шило, что в Ханаане, чтобы вернуться в Галаад, в свою землю, которой они овладели по повелению Господа, данному через Моисея. Жертвенник «Свидетель»

10 A nd when they came unto the region about the Jordan, that is in the land of Canaan, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh built there an altar by the Jordan, a great altar to look upon.

Придя в Гелилот, что рядом с Иорданом, в земле Ханаана, рувимиты, гадиты и половина рода Манассии соорудили там у Иордана огромный жертвенник.

11 A nd the children of Israel heard say, Behold, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh have built an altar in the forefront of the land of Canaan, in the region about the Jordan, on the side that pertaineth to the children of Israel.

Когда израильтяне услышали, что те соорудили жертвенник на границе Ханаана в области, что рядом с Иорданом, на израильской стороне,

12 A nd when the children of Israel heard of it, the whole congregation of the children of Israel gathered themselves together at Shiloh, to go up against them to war.

все общество Израиля собралось в Шило, чтобы идти на них войной.

13 A nd the children of Israel sent unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half-tribe of Manasseh, into the land of Gilead, Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest,

Израильтяне послали в землю Галаада, к рувимитам, гадитам и половине рода Манассии Пинехаса, сына священника Элеазара.

14 a nd with him ten princes, one prince of a fathers' house for each of the tribes of Israel; and they were every one of them head of their fathers' houses among the thousands of Israel.

С ним отправилось десять вождей, по одному от каждого из израильских родов, каждый из них был главой семейства среди израильских кланов.

15 A nd they came unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half-tribe of Manasseh, unto the land of Gilead, and they spake with them, saying,

Когда они пришли в Галаад – к рувимитам, гадитам и половине рода Манассии, – они сказали им:

16 T hus saith the whole congregation of Jehovah, What trespass is this that ye have committed against the God of Israel, to turn away this day from following Jehovah, in that ye have builded you an altar, to rebel this day against Jehovah?

– Все общество Господне говорит: «Как вы могли совершить такое предательство против Бога Израиля? Как вы могли отступить от Господа и соорудить себе жертвенник, восстав ныне против Господа?

17 I s the iniquity of Peor too little for us, from which we have not cleansed ourselves unto this day, although there came a plague upon the congregation of Jehovah,

Разве не было с нас довольно греха Пеора? До этого самого дня мы еще не очистились от того греха, за который весь народ Господа поразил мор!

18 t hat ye must turn away this day from following Jehovah? and it will be, seeing ye rebel to-day against Jehovah, that to-morrow he will be wroth with the whole congregation of Israel.

А сегодня вы собираетесь отступить от Господа? Если сегодня вы восстанете против Господа, то завтра Он разгневается на все общество Израиля.

19 H owbeit, if the land of your possession be unclean, then pass ye over unto the land of the possession of Jehovah, wherein Jehovah's tabernacle dwelleth, and take possession among us: but rebel not against Jehovah, nor rebel against us, in building you an altar besides the altar of Jehovah our God.

Если ваша земля нечиста, перейдите в землю Господа, где стоит Господня скиния, и разделите землю с нами. Только не восставайте против Господа и против нас, сооружая себе иной жертвенник, нежели жертвенник Господа, нашего Бога.

20 D id not Achan the son of Zerah commit a trespass in the devoted thing, and wrath fell upon all the congregation of Israel? and that man perished not alone in his iniquity.

Разве когда Ахан, сын Зераха, нечестно поступил с посвященными вещами, не обрушился гнев на все общество Израиля? А за тот грех умер не он один».

21 T hen the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh answered, and spake unto the heads of the thousands of Israel,

Рувимиты, гадиты и половина рода Манассии ответили главам израильских кланов:

22 T he Mighty One, God, Jehovah, the Mighty One, God, Jehovah, he knoweth; and Israel he shall know: if it be in rebellion, or if in trespass against Jehovah (save thou us not this day,)

– Господь, Бог богов! Господь, Бог богов! Он знает, и Израиль пусть знает: если это было восстание или предательство против Господа, то не щадите нас сегодня.

23 t hat we have built us an altar to turn away from following Jehovah; or if to offer thereon burnt-offering or meal-offering, or if to offer sacrifices of peace-offerings thereon, let Jehovah himself require it;

Если мы построили свой собственный жертвенник, чтобы отступить от Господа и приносить на нем всесожжения и хлебные приношения или совершать жертвы примирения, пусть Сам Господь призовет нас к ответу.

24 a nd if we have not rather out of carefulness done this, and of purpose, saying, In time to come your children might speak unto our children, saying, What have ye to do with Jehovah, the God of Israel?

Нет! Мы сделали это из страха, что однажды ваши потомки могут сказать нашим: «Что вам до Господа, Бога Израиля?

25 f or Jehovah hath made the Jordan a border between us and you, ye children of Reuben and children of Gad; ye have no portion in Jehovah: so might your children make our children cease from fearing Jehovah.

Господь сделал Иордан границей между нами и вами, рувимиты и гадиты! Нет у вас доли в Господе». Так ваши потомки могут заставить наших перестать чтить Господа.

26 T herefore we said, Let us now prepare to build us an altar, not for burnt-offering, nor for sacrifice:

Вот почему мы сказали: «Приготовимся и соорудим жертвенник, но не для всесожжений или жертвоприношений».

27 b ut it shall be a witness between us and you, and between our generations after us, that we may do the service of Jehovah before him with our burnt-offerings, and with our sacrifices, and with our peace-offerings; that your children may not say to our children in time to come, Ye have no portion in Jehovah.

Напротив, пусть он будет свидетелем между нами и вами и грядущими поколениями, что мы чтим Господа в Его святилище своими всесожжениями, приношениями и жертвами примирения. Тогда в будущем ваши потомки не смогут сказать нашим: «Нет у вас доли в Господе».

28 T herefore said we, It shall be, when they so say to us or to our generations in time to come, that we shall say, Behold the pattern of the altar of Jehovah, which our fathers made, not for burnt-offering, nor for sacrifice; but it is a witness between us and you.

Мы говорили, что если они когда-нибудь скажут это нам или нашим потомкам, мы ответим: «Посмотрите на жертвенник, который соорудили наши отцы по образу жертвенника Господа не для всесожжений или приношений, но для свидетельства между нами и вами».

29 F ar be it from us that we should rebel against Jehovah, and turn away this day from following Jehovah, to build an altar for burnt-offering, for meal-offering, or for sacrifice, besides the altar of Jehovah our God that is before his tabernacle.

Да не будет с нами того, чтобы нам сегодня восстать против Господа и отступить от Него, соорудив иной жертвенник для всесожжений, хлебных приношений и жертв, нежели тот жертвенник Господа, нашего Бога, что находится перед Его скинией.

30 A nd when Phinehas the priest, and the princes of the congregation, even the heads of the thousands of Israel that were with him, heard the words that the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the children of Manasseh spake, it pleased them well.

Когда священник Пинехас и вожди общины – главы израильских кланов – услышали, что сказали рувимиты, гадиты и половина рода Манассии, они были удовлетворены.

31 A nd Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest said unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the children of Manasseh, This day we know that Jehovah is in the midst of us, because ye have not committed this trespass against Jehovah: now have ye delivered the children of Israel out of the hand of Jehovah.

И священник Пинехас, сын Элеазара, сказал рувимитам, гадитам и половине рода Манассии: – Сегодня мы узнали, что Господь с нами, потому что вы не совершили против Господа этого предательства. Теперь вы избавили израильтян от руки Господа.

32 A nd Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, and the princes, returned from the children of Reuben, and from the children of Gad, out of the land of Gilead, unto the land of Canaan, to the children of Israel, and brought them word again.

И священник Пинехас, сын Элеазара, возвратился вместе с вождями от рувимитов и гадитов в Галааде и принес от них ответ в Ханаан, к израильтянам.

33 A nd the thing pleased the children of Israel; and the children of Israel blessed God, and spake no more of going up against them to war, to destroy the land wherein the children of Reuben and the children of Gad dwelt.

Они были рады услышать эту весть и возблагодарили Бога. И больше они не говорили о том, чтобы пойти войной на страну, где живут рувимиты и гадиты, и опустошить ее.

34 A nd the children of Reuben and the children of Gad called the altar Ed: For, said they, it is a witness between us that Jehovah is God.

А рувимиты и гадиты назвали жертвенник «Свидетель», потому что, говорили они: «Это свидетель между нами, что Господь есть Бог».
