1 M anasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign; and he reigned five and fifty years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Hephzibah.

Манассии было двенадцать лет, когда он стал царем, и правил он в Иерусалиме пятьдесят пять лет. Его мать звали Хефциба.

2 A nd he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, after the abominations of the nations whom Jehovah cast out before the children of Israel.

Он делал зло в глазах Господа, следуя омерзительным обычаям народов, которых Господь прогнал от израильтян.

3 F or he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal, and made an Asherah, as did Ahab king of Israel, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.

Он отстроил святилища на возвышенностях, которые разрушил его отец Езекия, воздвиг жертвенники Баалу и сделал столб Ашеры, по примеру Ахава, царя Израиля. Он поклонялся всему небесному воинству и служил ему,

4 A nd he built altars in the house of Jehovah, whereof Jehovah said, In Jerusalem will I put my name.

построил жертвенники в доме Господа, о котором Господь сказал: «В Иерусалиме Я положу Мое Имя».

5 A nd he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of Jehovah.

В обоих дворах дома Господа он построил жертвенники всему небесному воинству.

6 A nd he made his son to pass through the fire, and practised augury, and used enchantments, and dealt with them that had familiar spirits, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of Jehovah, to provoke him to anger.

Он принес сына в огненную жертву, гадал и ворожил, и общался с вызывателями мертвых и волшебниками. Он сделал много зла в глазах Господа, вызывая Его гнев.

7 A nd he set the graven image of Asherah, that he had made, in the house of which Jehovah said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever;

Он взял резной столб Ашеры, который сделал, и поставил его в доме, о котором Господь говорил Давиду и его сыну Соломону: «В этом доме и в Иерусалиме, который Я избрал среди всех родов Израиля, Я положу Мое Имя навеки.

8 n either will I cause the feet of Israel to wander any more out of the land which I gave their fathers, if only they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them.

Я не дам впредь ногам израильтян выйти из той земли, которую Я дал их отцам, если только они будут исполнять все, что Я повелел им, и соблюдать Закон, который дал им Мой слуга Моисей».

9 B ut they hearkened not: and Manasseh seduced them to do that which is evil more than did the nations whom Jehovah destroyed before the children of Israel.

Но народ не послушал. Манассия сбил их с пути, и они стали делать больше зла, чем те народы, которых Господь истребил перед израильтянами.

10 A nd Jehovah spake by his servants the prophets, saying,

Господь говорил через Своих слуг пророков:

11 B ecause Manasseh king of Judah hath done these abominations, and hath done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, that were before him, and hath made Judah also to sin with his idols;

– Манассия, царь Иудеи, совершил омерзительные грехи. Он сделал больше зла, чем аморреи, которые были перед ним, и ввел Иудею в грех своими идолами.

12 t herefore thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, Behold, I bring such evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoever heareth of it, both his ears shall tingle.

Поэтому так говорит Господь, Бог Израиля: «Я наведу на Иерусалим и Иудею такую беду, что у того, кто услышит о ней, зазвенит в ушах.

13 A nd I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab; and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipeth a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.

Я отмерю наказание Иерусалиму, так же, как отмерил Самарии, и буду пользоваться такой же мерой праведности, как для дома Ахава. Я вытру Иерусалим, как вытирают блюдо – вытирают и переворачивают.

14 A nd I will cast off the remnant of mine inheritance, and deliver them into the hand of their enemies; and they shall become a prey and a spoil to all their enemies;

Я покину оставшихся от Моего наследия и отдам их в руки врагов. Все их враги будут обирать их и грабить,

15 b ecause they have done that which is evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even unto this day.

потому что они делали зло в Моих глазах и вызывали Мой гнев с того дня, как их отцы вышли из Египта, по сегодняшний день».

16 M oreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; besides his sin wherewith he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah.

Манассия пролил столько безвинной крови, что наполнил Иерусалим от края до края, – и это не считая греха, к которому он склонил Иудею, чтобы они делали зло в глазах Господа.

17 N ow the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin that he sinned, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

Прочие события правления Манассии и все, что он сделал, и грех, который он совершил, то разве не записаны они в «Книге летописей царей Иудеи?

18 A nd Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.

Манассия упокоился со своими предками и был похоронен в саду своего дворца, в саду Уззы. И Амон, его сын, стал царем вместо него. Амон – царь Иудеи (2 Пар. 33: 21-25)

19 A mon was twenty and two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned two years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Meshullemeth the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.

Амону было двадцать два года, когда он стал царем, и правил он в Иерусалиме два года. Его мать звали Мешуллемет, она была дочерью Харуца, родом из Иотбы.

20 A nd he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, as did Manasseh his father.

Амон делал зло в глазах Господа, как и его отец Манассия.

21 A nd he walked in all the way that his father walked in, and served the idols that his father served, and worshipped them:

Он ходил всеми путями своего отца, служил идолам, которым служил его отец, и поклонялся им.

22 a nd he forsook Jehovah, the God of his fathers, and walked not in the way of Jehovah.

Он оставил Господа, Бога его отцов, и не ходил путем Господа.

23 A nd the servants of Amon conspired against him, and put the king to death in his own house.

Приближенные Амона составили против него заговор и убили царя в его дворце.

24 B ut the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.

Но народ страны перебил всех, кто был в заговоре против царя Амона, и сделал царем вместо него его сына Иосию.

25 N ow the rest of the acts of Amon which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

Что же до прочих деяний Амона, то разве не записаны они в «Книге летописей царей Иудеи»?

26 A nd he was buried in his sepulchre in the garden of Uzza: and Josiah his son reigned in his stead.

Его похоронили в его гробнице в саду Уззы. И Иосия, его сын, стал царем вместо него.
