1 O Jehovah, our Lord, How excellent is thy name in all the earth, Who hast set thy glory upon the heavens!

Господи, наш Владыка, как величественно Имя Твое на всей земле! Слава Твоя превыше небес.

2 O ut of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou established strength, Because of thine adversaries, That thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.

Из уст младенцев и грудных детей Ты вызовешь Себе хвалу из-за Твоих врагов, чтобы сделать безмолвными противника и мстителя.

3 W hen I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, The moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

Когда я смотрю на Твои небеса, работу Твоих рук, на луну и на звезды, которые Ты поставил:

4 W hat is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him?

кто такой человек, что Ты переживаешь о нем? Кто такой сын человеческий, что Ты заботишься о нем?

5 F or thou hast made him but little lower than God, And crownest him with glory and honor.

Ты немногим умалил его пред Богом, Ты увенчал его славой и честью.

6 T hou makest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; Thou hast put all things under his feet:

Ты поставил его владыкой над делами Своих рук, Ты все подчинил под ноги его:

7 A ll sheep and oxen, Yea, and the beasts of the field,

всех овец и волов и диких зверей,

8 T he birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, Whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.

птиц в небесах и рыбу в морях, все, что наполняет стремнины моря.
